1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Altcoin stablecoins based on DAI? on: February 16, 2020, 11:07:47 AM
Hey guys, I was thinking about how amazing is the DAI stablecoin. DAI is great for keeping your eth and loaning yourself some USD. I've done it, you've done it, he's done it, we all have done it. It's great and it works.

Now, what about second/third world countries? I mean even the EU doesn't still have a stablecoin. I was thinking that instead of creating another stablecoin based on eth, it would actually make more sense to base it in DAI/USD. Like, my wife is Colombian, so people there use the Colombian Peso (COP). It would just make sense if you could get your USD/Eth, convert them into DAI and lock them and in return get COP. Why do that instead of with Eth? Well, because with this system you can also do it, but if you want to loan yourself some COP, DAI/USD is stable so you probably can loan yourself more with a lower risk.

What do you guys think? Should we have stablecoins like DAI, but based on DAI and other currencies. I'm thinking euros, colombian/mexican pesos etc. Hell, it would be fun to have a stablecoin for Venezuelan bolivars just for the thrill of speculating on hyperinflated currencies.
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Contest: Design the Lambowei logo and win 1 ETH ! on: December 26, 2019, 02:45:06 PM
This is a call for crypto designers! The Lambowei needs a new logo, so we've started a contest. Send your designs to our twitter account with the #lambowei hashtag, the winner will get 1 ETH! The theme has to be about the Moon, Julian Assange, and a red lambo.
3  Other / Off-topic / POLL. Choose my project: Lightfield VR | Replacing Centralized Youtube/Spotify on: December 26, 2019, 11:51:00 AM
Right now I'm still doing lambowei.com, but I also have other projects in mind!

One of them is to create a light-field camera to create impressive VR videos. You can get a feeling of what I'm talking about here. The idea is to create an array of 7x7 cameras as a start.

The other one is developing a server that can be installed in android tablets to store music, videos, email etc so that people keep their tablet running in their house as a server, then connect to it from any device and use it as a replacement to Youtube/Spotify/Gmail etc. It's easy to say but difficult to build and scale of course, and there's the NAT problem (which I think it's a business opportunity). Given that right now google is censoring crypto videos I was thinking that maybe you people'd be interested.
4  Economy / Gambling / LAMBOWEI.COM | Interactive art on the blockchain, EARN X2 THIS CHRISTMAS! on: December 24, 2019, 02:59:10 PM
Hi guys, lambowei.com is my first Vyper (Ethereum) project (twitter here). It's a frame with a digital display. In order to change the image you need to place a bid. Each bid is x4 the previous bid, and it gives a x2 return to the previous bidder. I will be matching your bids all Christmas and beyond. I already announced the project in reddit and got my first bid, which I've matched already.

This is a physical piece of art that represents everything good in the Blockchain world. You have high risk, and high reward, but you need trust as well and for that you need time. I am still building the physical frame with an Arduino and an eInk display, but the contract and web are live and running!

How Lambowei works:

There's an Ethereum contract. There's a physical frame with a digital display that shows the image attached to the last bid, that is the Lambowei. The owner of the Lambowei is also the owner of the Ethereum address that controls the contract and can withdraw the monies deposited in the contract. This means that the Lambowei is at least worth as much as the contract, and because of that in order to materialize the value of the Lambowei it's not necessary to withdraw the money, you can sell the Lambowei instead.

I think the blockchain space can do with a bit more trust. I dare you to trust me: I, the owner, will never withdraw money from the Lambowei. I might sell it but only to a reputable museum or art gallery, years down the road. The first person to trust me has already received twice as much as he's invested and got to choose the first image of the Lambowei for quite a good price (0.01 ETH).

Place a bid and become part of the Lambowei, if you can.
