9  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Changing Data directory location on Bitcoin-qt? on: November 23, 2012, 04:33:34 AM
I'm currently on a dual-boot setup and have my blockchain and wallet in my Windows XP partition and want to use Bitcoin on my Windows 7 partition.
The problem is that if I try to open Bitcoin on my Windows 7 partition I'm forced to re-download the blockchain and obtain a new wallet.

Is there anyway to change the data directory location so that Bitcoin clients will share the same location? I can't seem to find the option in Bitcoin-qt and hope they implement this in the next version.

12  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Underclocking memory on 5830 causes crashes on: July 12, 2012, 06:19:55 AM
I have the regular Sapphire 5830 and overclocked the core from 800mHz to 1000mHz while maintaining extremely stable temperatures during Bitcoin mining (67C).

My memory clock is currently at 620 mHz because anything below 600mHz seems to causes a crash. My conputer doesn't crash immediately but when I launch a program such as FurMark or GPU-Z.

The OS this occurs on is Windows XP 32bit and I'm planning to switch to LinuxCoin or Ubuntu, whichever is better on a 4GB USB.

I'm using MSI AfterBurner to overclock.
13  Other / Beginners & Help / Integrating Bitcoins into a website on: July 10, 2012, 04:42:56 AM
I'm currently trying to make a website providing Bitcoin services completely from scratch.

I always see websites integrated with Bitcoin having a unique "Send Bitcoins to this address" address every single time you check-out.

I'm just wondering how would I go about putting something similar to that on my website since 3rd party services appear to take fees out of the amount I receive.

14  Economy / Currency exchange / I need Bitcoins, I have Liberty Reserve. on: July 10, 2012, 02:28:33 AM
Looking at $6.70 LR for 1 Bitcoin.

15  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Looking at building a single-card dedicated rig on: July 01, 2012, 09:17:42 AM
I'm looking at building a single-card rig with a Sapphire 5830.
I have no plans on expanding this rig.
I need some pointers on what hardware to get.

Here's my current list:
OS: Ubuntu
RAM: 1GB of DDR*
CPU: Some sort of single-core AMD chip
Mobo: Huh
Card: 1x Radeon 5830 (Overclocking and Underclocking memory)
Case: A slice of wood from Home Depot
-Slapping on a HDD, mobo, and PSU won't do the job
-Gotta find out how to secure parts onto wood...use pen to mark holes and power drill into wood?
HDD: Sata2 120GB (Only $10 so...)
16  Other / Beginners & Help / What's the best manufacturer for the 5830? on: July 01, 2012, 04:39:38 AM
So I'm looking to buy the 5830 for just Bitcoin mining and I'm just wondering who's the best manufacturer?
I see a lot of the 5830's in the marketplace are by Sapphire.
This is for single GPU mining by the way, I don't plan on running crossfire.
17  Economy / Currency exchange / Buying Bitcoins for Interac-E Transfer on: June 10, 2012, 01:37:58 AM
Since my dealers no longer have anymore Bitcoins or deal. I'm going to need to find some more people whom I'll frequently buy from.

I'm buying Bitcoins with Interac-E Transfer at $5 each.

18  Other / Beginners & Help / Difference between CUDA and CPU mining? on: June 25, 2011, 01:44:44 AM

I'm also wondering if "proportional" or "pay-per-share" will be better if I'm CPU mining on deepbit?
19  Other / Beginners & Help / Starting BitCoins on: June 21, 2011, 12:31:55 AM
I'm currently doing CPU mining with 3 machines at 1mhash/s per machin and it's very slow. I don't have any GPUs (128MB RAM, yay Cheesy) that support OpenCL and hopefully I will be able to build a $2000 gaming/mining hybrid machine when I save up. I tried the faucet but nothing showed up.
I'd really appreciate it if someone gave me some BitCoins to start with.

Thank You!
