1  Economy / Trading Discussion / The reason of why Bitcoin is good for trading (for me) on: May 16, 2023, 08:44:58 AM
First of all I'm not a real trader, but I like to trade to earn small amount profit.

I only use BTC/USDT pair because USDT make me easier to determine how much my coins worth after trade and most liquid stable coin, the reason why I choose BTC is I don't need to worry about it when my trading goes wrong. So if I bought Bitcoin at the peak and the price keep decreasing, I will not sell it, but I will wait for the next super cycle where Bitcoin usually break new ATH.

Keep in mind I never learn about chart, candlestick, trend etc, all of my decision come from my mood and instinct. No stop limit, no follow any signal, no watching my PC for 24/7 etc, just directly buy and sell.

Is there anyone like me here? Cheesy

4  Economy / Scam Accusations / [SCAM] Rebelminers.com - Cloud mining up to 8% per day on: November 08, 2022, 04:14:04 AM
What happened: There's scam in Mining (Altcoins) section where the @OP is promoting cloud mining that offer 3% to 8% daily return as we know we're in bear market and it's impossible to mine for get such daily return. Even though you live in a country where electricity cost is cheap and has a lot mining rigs, it still can't reach 8% per day.

5  Economy / Service Discussion / Signature campaign: The lowest and highest payment BTC and USD in 2013-2022 on: June 19, 2022, 08:59:53 AM
The main reason I'm creating this thread is because @The Pharmacist asking this question on his thread Is there a place in the world you could live like a king via sig campaigns? and also many new campaigns in this year come up like 1-2 campaign(s)/month.

Has anyone seen any statistics on pay rates over time?  I'd be interested to know how much bitcoin (or the dollar amount) could be earned per pay period in each of them throughout the years.  I suspect it's gone down a lot.

I spend few days to collect 3 threads on every year to have better statistic since each campaign do pay low and some are high, so we can see in every year how much the lowest you can earn and how much the highest you can earn. I did cherry pick for the latest campaign who still survived until now, because not all campaigns can survive so that long especially Chipmixer which already 5 years long.

You may see the pay rate is different with the payment right now, the reason is I want to see how much the beginning plan of the project want to pay their participants at the current date where the signature campaign thread was posted and I also using the BTC price when the signature campaign was posted to make it fair, that's why you see the BTC price is difference though it's in the same year. I use CoinMarketCap to see the Bitcoin price from 2014 until now and some articles to know how much Bitcoin price on 2013.

The data are calculated and presented every month in both BTC and USD pay rates in every year.

The first signature campaign was started since 2013 based on my research

2022: 0.008-0.01 BTC/month and $240-$400/month

This is the graph of signature campaigns pay rate since 2013-2022 in BTC

This is the graph of signature campaigns pay rate since 2013-2022 in USD

The insight of two graphs above is:
The highest payment in BTC was in 2013, this is make sense considering how cheap Bitcoin is, so they're not losing to much money. However on 2014 there's no campaign want to pay higher pay rate, then since 2015 and so on, the Bitcoin pay rate continuously drop in both lowest and highest.

The highest payment in USD was in 2018, where they want to pay $554,40/month while this is the worst dump ever in Bitcoin history, I don't know the reason, perhaps they think BTC will go lower and lower? but the campaign is still alive, so they're proving they don't have any problem with huge payment (I also don't know how much this campaign pay rate in this year). However the highest payment in USD are quite stable since 2017 until now, around $300/month. On 2019-2021 there's a huge gap between the lowest and highest pay rate, especially on 2017 where they're paying only for $54,6/month.

The most interesting fact is: You will earn less BTC value, but you will earn higher USD value

Maybe in the next year there's a new campaign want to pay higher pay rate and beat the 2018 record in USD value? we will see Smiley
6  Other / Beginners & Help / My Bitcoin journey and a question about Bitcoin fee calculation on: June 16, 2022, 02:23:02 PM
I'm started my Bitcoin journey when I saw there's an online crypto casino ads popping out on my phone, since I'm a gambler and want to try the site I search about how to buy Bitcoin on google search. Then I see so many popular exchange that can be used to buy Bitcoin e.g. Binance, Coinbase, eToro etc. Then I choose Binance because it's claimed very secure and have an insurance aka SAFU. All went smooth and I can send my Bitcoin to the casino. then I gamble it.

Honestly I've leaving my Bitcoin on Binance for a long time, since I think at that time Binance is very secure, but after I saw an article talking about hacked exchange, I search about Binance and found it once got hacked on 2018. After that I learn to not leave my Bitcoin on Binance anymore and just hold on my own wallet. At that time I choose Trust wallet since there's many articles and users recommend it. During the registration I get the seed phrase of my address and I think, this is the difference between exchange (custodial) and wallet (non custodial). I feel it's safe and there wouldn't be any problem, but when I want to send my Bitcoin, this wallet charge ridiculous fee. The actual fee I paid to the miner only around 20% from the wallet charge and I feel like got cheated by this wallet.

Then after some research I found a wallet named "Electrum" honestly I don't have any idea about this wallet since it's not popular and looks like a plain-not professional wallet, but many people said it's a good wallet for beginners due to verifiable signature and open source. Then I installed and when I want to send my Bitcoin to casino, I'm surprised this wallet have a feature to adjust the fees manually, the lowest is 1 sat/byte. But since I'm not really understand how to calculate the correct fee, I'm using the slow option which is very cheap than Trust wallet offer.

But something weird happen to Binance few days ago when they disabled the Bitcoin on chain withdrawal, seems like they're messed up and not that trustworthy like their popularity. After that, I use decentralized exchanges e.g. Bisq to prevent from this kind issues, who knows centralized exchanges might add more terrible rules or update that we don't see yet right now.

I'm not yet understand about Bitcoin completely, but at least I know it works and how to use it safely, from my story above, I have learn:
1. Don't use any centralized exchanges instead use decentralized exchanges e.g. Bisq
2. Don't use any custodial, not verifiable, and closed source wallet instead use the non custodial wallet, verifiable signatures and open source wallet e.g. Electrum

Although Electrum do suggest a fee before I made a transaction and I think it's relatively cheap, but I read some users said Electrum and any other wallet sometime can miscalculate the correct Bitcoin fees since they calculate based on the previous day, not the current one. I have read some thread like this below, but I still not completely understand:
1. [Jun 2022] Mempool empty! Use this opportunity to Consolidate your small inputs!
2. How to calculate bitcoin transaction size and fees
3. How to calculate bitcoin segwit transaction fee and some other questions.

The main problem is I failed to understand what is block, weight, size, mempool, and etc, I want to learn such thing because it will help me to know how long my Bitcoin will arrive with the accurate calculations. So I will not wrong again when I want to send Bitcoin for exact time e.g. 6 hours, I will not wrong again to send to low or to high fees.

From what I understood is the more we have input and the more output we need to send, the more fees that we need to pay. Also the difference type of address Legacy Address (P2PKH), Pay to Script Hash (P2SH), Native SegWit (P2WPKH), and Taproot (P2TR) do have a factors to calculate the fees. From what I understand legacy address is the most highest fee, pay to script hash is the number 2, while segwit and taproot they're almost same offering cheaper fees. But since many services and casinos doesn't accept taproot address yet, so I'm use segwit address.

Thanks for reading my journey and my question Smiley
7  Economy / Exchanges / Binance temporary suspending Bitcoin network on: June 13, 2022, 01:39:28 PM
This is terrible announcement by Binance, the top 1 centralized exchanges currently suspending Bitcoin withdrawal using Bitcoin network, but you're allowed to withdraw using other chains e.g. BEP20 and ERC20. This is a joke man, Bitcoin who using other chains isn't a real Bitcoin anymore since it's just a centralized coin created by Binance pegged with real Bitcoin price.

The more and more centralized exchanges want their users to using their fake coins and centralized chains, does our personal information isn't enough for them? Because of this now I find more reason to use decentralized exchanges e.g. Bisq rather than centralized exchanges no matter their popularity.

Withdrawals on Bitcoin (BTC) Network Temporarily Suspended
2022-06-13 20:15
Fellow Binancians,
Withdrawals on the Bitcoin (BTC) network were temporarily suspended on 2022-06-13 at 11:43:43 (UTC). BTC withdrawals on other networks (BEP20 and ERC20) remain open and are working as normal.
This is due to an earlier batch of transactions getting stuck from low transaction fees submitted and hence, resulting in a backlog of Bitcoin (BTC) network withdrawals. The Binance team is working on a solution to resume Bitcoin (BTC) network withdrawals soon.
Binance will reopen withdrawals on the Bitcoin (BTC) network once our withdrawal system becomes stable, and we will notify users in a further announcement.
Please note:

Some pending Bitcoin (BTC) network withdrawals may be rejected once withdrawals on the Bitcoin (BTC) network are resumed. In this case, the users will need to resubmit their withdrawal requests.
BTC withdrawals on other networks remain open and are working as normal.

8  Other / Off-topic / The creator of Tom & Jerry and Popeye has passed away on: April 21, 2020, 12:50:10 PM
While I'm young till now I really love watching Tom & Jerry and Popeye. But, the animator "Gene Deitch" is passed away on April 16, 2020 it's really sad news. But, your masterpiece will never end, I'm still can watch it now, next day, next month or even next year. Thank you has made my childhood happy.

Rest in Peace Eugene Merril Deitch (August 8, 1924 – April 16, 2020)

THE beloved animator behind classic cartoons including Tom & Jerry and Popeye has passed away at the age of 95. Gene Deitch was in quarantine with his wife at the time at their residence in Prague, and posted a smiling selfie just days before his death. He was one of the creators and directors of the popular animated series Tom & Jerry.

A cause of death has not yet been revealed, though at least one family member has claimed the animator's passing was not caused by COVID-19. Eugene Merril Deitch was born in Chicago in 1924, but moved out to Los Angeles soon after, where he attended school. Upon graduating from Los Angeles High School, he began drawing blueprints for North American Aviation. Gene worked a variety of jobs over the next decade before taking an apprenticeship at United Productions of America. He was 31 at the time, but soon found himself leading the creative team for the Terrytoons brand. At the same time he also had a daily comic strip for the character Terr'ble Thompson. Then, in 1958, Gene was nominated for an Academy Award for his animated short film Sidney's Family Tree.....
