1  Other / Beginners & Help / Fixedfloat has been hacked, don't fall to phishing sites. on: February 20, 2024, 07:52:06 AM
Just a heads up...

Fixedfloat has been hacked yesterday, the real sites is flxedfloat.com and it's currently temporary unavailable. However there's a phishing site comes up using fixedlfoat.com domains.

This has been confirmed by FixedFloat's representatives too, if you want to choose swap exchange you can use eXch.cx or you can use other sites using bestchange.com

We have only one domain, all other domains are scammers. Be careful, our service is still under maintenance and we are not providing services yet.
2  Economy / Scam Accusations / SCAM - walletsupportdesk.weebly.com - fake service asking user's seed phrase on: December 22, 2023, 04:24:03 AM
What happened: victoria444 created a thread to trick people to share their seed phrase to this site. This is definitely scam since there's no one including the wallet's creator will ask their users to write down their seed phrase.

3  Economy / Economics / Boycotting iSrAEl's product? think again. on: November 14, 2023, 07:21:27 AM

https://currentaffairs.adda247.com/boycott-israel-products-list-2023/

There are many organizations and people in Asia are boycotting Israel's product because they're stand with Palestine. But I see it's really wrong because they mixed up both Western brands and Israel brands as they boycotting brands like: McDonald, Fanta, Garnier, Nestea, Starbucks etc. I'm not sure what's their reason to do that, but I take McDonald as the example, they boycotting McDonald because McDonald's franchise in Israel is supporting Israel.

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/mcdonalds-owners-fight-over-support-for-israel/ar-AA1jgQRE

They forget if it's a franchise, it's not the McDonald's headquarter is supporting Israel. The franchise in other country has no relation with Israel, yet people boycott them. This can give effect to their own economy because the franchise will not make money to pay the employees, resulting salary cut or get fired, unemployment rate will increase.

AFAIK there's only one brand, that clearly supporting Israel, after all it's your choice to boycott them or not.

It's really not make sense to boycott franchise's product, if you want to boycott Israel's product, here are their brands https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Israeli_brands

If you want to support Palestine, find the trusted charity in your respective country and make a donation on there.

Think smarter, don't ruin the economy in your country because of sUppOrTInG PaLEStinE by doing that.
4  Economy / Gambling / [GUIDE] 10 complete steps for new casino into this forum on: March 04, 2022, 07:39:09 AM
Note: This thread intended for new casinos, that's why it's posted on Gambling board.

Many new casinos doesn't understand how this forum work, forum rules and how to advertise on this forum. Some casinos just started creating topic with poor plain text announcement and some might doesn't even complete developing his sites. How you can make someone move to your new casino while their old casino are better than yours? No one will want to try out your sites. We can't blame them since new accounts wouldn't recognized this forum yet, this is why I create this thread. This 10 steps will help you understand to promote your brand new casino in this forum.

1. You need to have a lot money to start.
Aside the primary cost to build up the sites, gambling software, domain subscription, coder, script, bug bounty etc. You need to have a good amount money for advertisement (full explanation below), no one will know your casino when they didn't even heard your casinos since it's still a brand new casinos.

2. Read the forum rules first.
The most rules that brand new users broke are post in a row, spamming, put referral on the topic, create duplicate thread and not deleted previous bump. Though if you broke this rules you wouldn't automatically be banned, but your post most likely can be deleted by moderators. Additional tip: if you want your thread remain on Gambling board, you need to accept Bitcoin on your casino, if not your topic will be moved to service announcement (altcoins). The rules can be read here Unofficial list of (official) Bitcointalk.org rules, guidelines, FAQ

3. Create announcement with well organized design.
Good announcement will bring a good impression to whoever see your thread, it also show how serious and well prepared your casino it is. If you register with brand new account, your images wouldn't be visible since each rank has a restrictions. You need to upgrade your rank to Jr. Member or buy copper membership to make the images visible.

4. Various advertisements.
Welcome bonus and wager contest are the good promotions to start as new casino. But almost on any casino will have this promotions and it's really common, also the requirements is really insane to beat. Usually welcome bonus you need 40x wager with the bonus money, wager contest you need to beat high roller and isn't easy. You can other promotions with easier to require even though the reward need to reduced e.g. daily wager, lottery.

5. On forum advertisements.
Having a promotions on casinos is good, but it will be better if you have a promotions dedicated for Bitcointalk user only. Many popular casinos in this forum mostly have this and they're not stopping even they already big. In this forum you can run signature campaign, run review contest about your casino, run prediction contest, slot multiplier or even art contest. To run those contests it will be better if you hire a manager to handle that, you can see on this thread Overview of Bitcointalk Signature Anti-Spam Campaign Managers

6. Make sure your site is already finished.
Announcing your casino but your site still under development will make people doesn't want to try your sites since it's not completed yet and worried if there's a bug. You need to have at least: Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy, FAQ, Live support, Social media, and Provably fair verifier. It's not funny when you don't even wrote any rules and when someone want to withdraw his money, you suspect him abusing your system etc and you ask him to submit KYC. Obviously no one will ever want to play anymore.

7. Don't be too strict about your rules.
Many people really want a friendly casino which doesn't really strict about their rules. Don't directly suspect broke your rules someone when they win huge amount, you need to accept it since you offer such odds and  maximum bet. If you still suspect someone abusing your rules, you need to prepare the proof to prove it. If not, no one will believe since you're new casino and doesn't have any reputation yet.

8. Get a gambling license.
Many people doesn't like to submit KYC, but they're prefer a casino having license even KYC is mandatory rather than a casino doesn't have license but offer no KYC. This because no KYC casino doesn't offer promotions due to easily to abuse, unlike a KYC casino will have various promotions. Of course you shouldn't ask KYC to anyone as long as they're not abusing your casino. You also shouldn't allow someone can deposit but they need to submit KYC to able withdraw the funds, this is worst.

9. Active on forum.
It doesn't mean you need to active 24/7, you can active once a day, once in every three days or even once a week. You need to be active since many members will ask some questions related to your casino or some people have a problem with your casino. If you ignored their problems, many people will have bad impression on your casino.

10. Don't try to use paid shills or bumping service.
Having a thread shown in the first page or even first row will make your casino will be visible to anyone which visited gambling board. But don't try to use paid shills or bumping service to make your thread remain on the first row, this isn't good advertisement and many people will think your casino is scummy or rug pull project, don't try to abuse this forum system.

This is based on my own observations around popular casinos in this forum, this forum doesn't endorse/force new casinos to have good announcement or run advertisements (e.g. signature campaign, contest etc).

tl;dr you need to have huge money to start new casino, understand the forum rules, prepare good announcement, finished your sites with complete informations, be active, run various advertisements, don't too strict, don't hire paid shills, and have a licenses.
5  Other / Meta / Nostalgia: Your first post in this forum on: February 20, 2022, 02:49:24 PM
I've seen so many great posters in this forum, they almost never wrote any false point in their posts. Of course this because people getting matured and learn from his past, though a shitposter is still a shitposter and nothing changed. So, I was wondering what does their first post in this forum, it seems awkward or funny to read our first post eh? Cheesy This thread isn't to mocking or embarrassing someone, no one is never doing anything wrong his entire life, again this is just for nostalgia to see where your journey started.

Let's start with mine.

Good day everyone,

First, I'm new about this forum, but I not new about bitcoins. I'm bitcoin enthusiast who live in Malaysia.
My knowledge about bitcoin is not very well, but at least I know what is bitcoin, how bitcoin work and many basic things about bitcoin.

On 2 months ago, I create a mini seminar with my friend to share and educating about bitcoin. I'm really not expected there are so many people in my country is interested about bitcoin. I'm so nervous since it's my first seminars and I'm not too good about public speaking.

For the beginner or newbie who want to learn about bitcoin, I'm recommending to watch a video animation like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s4g1XFU8Gto . After you understand, you can try reading this websites https://www.bitdegree.org/tutorials/how-does-bitcoin-work/ and bitcoin whitepaper https://bitcoin.org/bitcoin.pdf

I really advice to learn about security and avoid from scammer first. In digital there are so many phishing websites, fake wallet, high return invesment, ponzi and pyramid scheme want to scam us. Because there are so many people scammed from that's kind scam. You can read many scams in bitcoin here https://bitcoin.org/en/scams#pump-and-dumps

This is the picture in my mini seminars https://ibb.co/Rh2H3Bc
Sorry I edit it because I don't want to expose their face to public

That's all about my story, and I want to ask about this forum

1. Does this forum have Malaysia local board? Like Arabic, Bahasa Indonesia, Spanish, etc. Because I haven't seen any Malaysia local board here and I want to contribute knowledge to my local and this forum
2. What's all rules in this forum? Do all the rules in this post? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=703657.0
3. Can I promote this forum to my friends and many bitcoin enthusiasts to join this forum? Because this forum is the best bitcoin forum who I ever saw

I hope my post is not wrong. Thank you for the response  Smiley
I'm introducting myself as Bitcoin enthusiast in my country, Malaysia and ever conducting a mini seminar to teach about basic of Bitcoin. Many people was really interested about Bitcoin and some even blackmailed me begging for satoshis lol, yeah I accept the risk. Also it's really sad on my local board isn't huge like other local board, but it's what it's.

Now this is Satoshi's first post.

6  Economy / Gambling discussion / Why I can't access a casino while my country isn't got blacklisted? on: February 18, 2022, 12:03:54 PM
Hi fellow gamblers,

I live in a country where gambling is actually legal, but due to some religions that consider gambling is illegal... gambling is pretty strict in my country but it's still allowed if you play on licensed casino, that's just my story.

Well, I've seen so many online casino in this forum and it's really attract me to play. But I don't know why I can't access the casino, while I can access the other casinos. My internet connection is good and my country doesn't got blacklisted by the casino, what's the problem then? Does this because my internet service provider, what should I do to solve this?

I wouldn't play with VPN since it's breaking their rules, I'm really looking to solve this. It's really sad when you want to play on specific casino but there's a barrier obstructing your desire. I know there's an alternative casinos, but I have some personal reason to play in specific casino...

The Poloniex's contribution to crypto's trading volume has decreased substantially, and a lot more traders (if compared with their current statistics) used to trade their back in 2016/17. So most of the scam accusations are quite old and not very relevant in 2019 as even the ownership of Poloniex has changed hands.

Note: An accusation is not a major one if either it belongs to someone having less than 5 merits or it's not a part of personal funds at the exchange. Moreover, if there's any merit to any of the accusations, it'll be considered as major. So if you feel that you're seeing an accusation which is not being considered as major, just give that accusation a merit and it'll be counted as major.

Miscellaneous:
If you look on their applications Ebede was send earlier before Georgejohn so the person controlled both of this accounts are hurry up when he want to drop the application of the bounties. Both of the accounts already deleted their applications, Ebede was known promoting scam casino 1xbit. Even both of the accounts doesn't cheat a bounty or signature campaign, it's worth to note he's greedy promoting scam sites with alt accounts to make a lot money.

@GeorgeJohn already responded my report, he said he and @Ebede were a course friends in same University. He also offer me to check his account and @Ebede account then I will see between him and @Ebede are different person. After I check these both accounts I find some similarities and @lovesmayfamilis also agree both accounts writing were close.

2 Very like to create multiple unnecessary thread about forum rules, rank, quality post, motivation, guideline seeking for merit. You're a newbie why you guiding to newbie too?

The quality of our work attracts good response and also make us not to be fearful, because the first time I login my account I was unable to understand the forum because I don't know the direction to follow untill i observed these group, despite that am not too good to understand everything in the group now but believing that with time i will follow up, but the little research i made  i understand that good quality contributes for the growth of user, and also reading of work like twice before posting also create good impact of quality post.

I understand that many starters in forum their primary concerns is to ranked up without knowing the criteria of the group or forum, I think many people are once a newbie before getting to certain position, I think what should help all new members is to study the environment first before looking for uplift, understanding the rules and regulations of these honourable forum perfectly and it will enable us beginner's to create a positive solution's in future through the community.

making a quality post
Making a quality post does not required long paragraph, it's based on how meaningful the work is, so write a post especially newbie like me, I think we have to pass through processes, which is adequate research, observation and something that are different from the work of others.
From my observation I foun that most of the topic in Bitcointalk community we discuss today has already been treated, discussed for long time. People framed or interchange the words in a modern form.

A quality post :are one of the major criteria to earn merit and well recognize to the forum, a beginners  most know  how to make a quality  post both from local  board and public  board, because  good quality  of post attracts a campaign to hire a member and to be merited.

Quote
Beginners are conscious to ranked up in the forum without proper research and observation and hardworking.

Hardworking is the activation energy of begginers to make quality post without obstruction.
A begginer most follow the full steps of the seniors like the following @suchmoon,@ loycev,@welsh, @loyce777, @ upgrade. And other members who are highly intellectual in order to propagate.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5262255.msg54797349#msg54797349

A quality post is a post that is answerable to a question, and also a post that brings a solution to a question even though it's a two lines stanza of an article that's well arranged, coordinated, constructed, understandable and also meaningful, but from my perspective some user's misunderstood what we meant by a quality post or a quality article, i have come across of some varieties of post's in the community and it trigger's me to put it in writing, i seen some user's making an ambiguous articles And taught that a large numbers of articles is granted or guarantee making of a tangible or nice post, [No]

This is what you called you and @Ebede are different body?

I did not really delve into the details of the publications of these two accounts, but the fact that there is a similarity is noticeable.
Both write posts with little to no capitalization or punctuation marks. Their entire post can be merged into one sentence. I remember that I once suggested to GeorgeJohn to check his punctuation more closely. But unfortunately, he did not quite understand what I meant.
For example. The sentence is not delimited by a dot.

From my understanding I noticed that democracy is only system of government that will help for proper treatment of less privileged with manner, any Country that doesn't practice democracy system kind of government will suffer, because democracy is the only place an average individual in the country can exercise her feelings to the government and government will pay attention, so any Country that does not practice democracy system will definitely live life of difficulties. That's personal opinion.

At first I think the caution of the headlines the topic suppose to be, why you can't be rich when having crypto, instead of why you can't be rich by owning crypto, so relating to topic, Bitcoin is something that's not in control of any one but in control of of itself for regulations depending the standard of cryptocurrency marketcap, and its increments depends on the demands which no one can testify accurately when such will occur, because people buy Bitcoin when the price is low would have make a potential profit assuming them know exactly when will zoom up, so to be Rich in crypto its based on long time holding of cryptocurrency.
9  Economy / Economics / El Salvador retirees protest against Bitcoin as legal tender on: August 31, 2021, 12:18:40 PM
Introduction : We already know El Salvador become the first country that 100% support Bitcoin because they plan to accept Bitcoin as a legal tender on September 7, 2021 which will bring mass adoption for Bitcoin. As we can see many users spreading good news about El Salvador in this forum, some of them:

I thought there will no bad news from El Salvador to Bitcoin, but I'm wrong I'm really shocked when I see a news talking some veteran, pensioners, and workers from El Salvador protest against Bitcoin as legal tender. The most shocked thing is their opinions about Bitcoin, all is bullshit!

Quote
We know this coin fluctuates drastically. Its value changes from one second to another, and we will have no control over it,” Stanley Quinteros, a member of the Supreme Court of Justice’s workers’ union, reportedly said. Salvadorans also expressed concerns over the lack of knowledge and understanding of the technology needed to use cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin. Protesters held up signs saying, “We don’t want Bitcoin” and “No to corrupt money laundering.”
What on earth did they say??? NO CONTROL OVER IT, CORRUPT MONEY LAUNDERING!
Bitcoin = Be Your Own Bank, you have full control over it just like how Bank can have full control of your Fiat. Bitcoin could be used for Money Laundering but do you have an evidence about it? No! You just ignored the fact your favorite Fiat is always be used for money laundering $800 billion - $2 trillion in current US dollars every year!

Not understand about technology and lack of knowledge? You can still to learn, there's no restrictions to study Bitcoin where you from, where you live, how old are you, what you gender, anyone can learn it! A lot youtuber, article, animations, and whatever already make simple definition for Average Joe to learn Bitcoin, you don't need to learn the technical thing at least you know what is Bitcoin, how it works, how to use, etc etc.

According to local reports, El Salvador’s latest anti-Bitcoin protests were apparently a part of a wider opposition campaign by local veterans protesting over low pensions on Friday. As such, some protesters reportedly demanded a pension increase from $100 to $300.
They want to be rich, but they protest against Bitcoin used as legal tender LOL does this both picture are hard to understand? please, open your eyes. Bitcoin from 0 went to $47K while USD from $25 went to $1

Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele announced legislation to accept Bitcoin as legal tender alongside the U.S. dollar in early June. The bill later passed the nation’s Legislative Assembly and is scheduled to be enforced on Sept. 7. Last week, the president clarified that Salvadorans would be free not to use Bitcoin, stating:

“What if someone doesn’t want to use Bitcoin? Don’t download the Chivo app and continue living your normal life. Nobody is going to take your dollars. Someone can always queue up at Western Union and pay a commission.”
This is the most thing I fully respect El Salvador's President statement, he doesn't forcing anyone to download their own Bitcoin app named Chivo which I think it's web wallet or the worst case ask KYC of their citizens. So if you have a privacy concern and worried about the credibility/trustworthy about the wallet, you can use non-custodial wallet or hardware wallet.

In the end, I hope El Salvador's President wouldn't postpone or even rejecting the plan to accept BTCitcoin as legal tender
