2  Other / Beginners & Help / Reaper works but not cgminer in guiminer script? Give-me-ltc on: April 17, 2013, 06:27:03 AM
Im using guiminer -script for litecoins.  Wanted to try cgminer as many report better hash rates than with reaper.  I was using reaper just fine.  However, when I try cgminer it just says "connecting".  Perhaps I'm missing something simple as I'm new to this.  I have the 13.3 beta catalyst drivers and amd sdk 2.8 installed.

If I open the console in guiminer I have the following code executing (I changed the user and password).
cgminer.exe --scrypt -u user.2 -p password -o http://stratum.give-me-ltc.com:3333 --gpu-platform 0 -d 1 -w 256 -v 1 -I 16 -g 1 -l 1 -T  --thread-concurrency 8000

Can anyone shed some light on this?  Just says "Listener for "Give-CG-1" started" in the console and nothing ever happens.
3  Other / Beginners & Help / MSI Z77A-G45 only recognizes 4 amd 7950 cards no more on: April 17, 2013, 03:58:47 AM
I have a new MSI Z77A-G45 motherboard and 7 new HIS 7950 gpus. Brand new windows 7 x64 ultimate installation. Running AMD 13.3 beta drivers and AMD APP SDK 2.8 but tried 13.1 and 12.8 as well. Attaching cards with x16 to x1 adapters. On more than 4 cards I splice the adapters to molex for power. Using dual XFX 850 psu. This setup is for litecoin mining.

My issue is I never get more than 4 cards to be recognized. Has nothing to do with what adapters I use for power. I have tried the vga to dvi dummy plug and it makes no difference. I have tried the crossfire adapters and that makes no difference. When trying different catalyst version I tried both the AMD Catalyst Un-install Utility and atiman uninstaller 6.3.1.

Anyone have any ideas? Only other thing I've seen like it is this thread and I have the exact same problem. http://devgurus.amd.com/thread/159653
