1  Economy / Trading Discussion / Platforms to accept Bitcoin as payment? on: August 04, 2022, 04:04:29 PM
I run a small business and believe in BTC. I'd like to contribute and accept it as payment. It's a service industry so I'd love to be able to send them a payment link that would work but I can't find anything thst really works like that.

Could I get a wallet I use just for that? Where I can leave the payment QR code in the email and people can scan it if they choose to pay via Bitcoin?
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Why is Solana still a thing? on: August 04, 2022, 03:56:44 PM
Solana goes completely against the idea that cryptocurrency must be decantralised. It's possibly the most centralised "mainstream" altcoin with a shady team that has historically lied about not only the fundamentals of the project like the circulating supply, but the shady members of the team have also been caught for fraud.

Much more advanced, more decantralised and Secure Level 2 competitors like MATIC exist, which have had infinitely better uptime, and security. Solana is not the cheapest, nor the fastest competitor either, so that's not in it's favour. There's few projects. Fewer with any reasonable legitimacy. It's just a hyper inflated L2 that has nothing holding it up other than hype and NFTs as fundamentals.

The only thing Solana has been consistent in, is underperforming, having outages, missing road map targets, getting hacked, and making false promises.

How many time does SOL have to be hacked, fucked, and stomped to actually die?
3  Economy / Speculation / Are we at the bottom? no one knows, but market is doing fine. on: August 04, 2022, 03:20:52 AM
market is doing fine.
How much deeper market gonna dive? Many believe we are near bottom. And there is a big reason for it. Market acting surprisingly fine despite everything.

First it was interest rates. We knew it will be around 75 and it was. And market rallied (relief rally?) And it did not stop when numbers came in and US GDP growth was negative for the second consecutive quarter (which is a big recession indicator).

Why is that? Many think it is because we have allrdy saw the bottom and that market is currently "undervalued" so it is kind of numb to bad news. It very well might be the case, or it might not. Frankly It is not about where the bottom is (if there is one) but rather when there will be room for real growth! Current situation is:

We might allrdy be in recession.

Inflation is still here.

War in Ukraine continue to have an impact on energy and food price.

Feds made it clear that Interest rates will be raised more and more until inflation is under control.

Do you see any good signal that we might get out of this mess? Bottom or not until these fundamental problems are solved I just can't see a bull market coming.
4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / How do you assess the value of Bitcoin? on: August 03, 2022, 05:19:32 PM
Hi all,

How do you (personally) decide when Bitcoins are a buy? - gut feeling, just DCA to a certain amount, only buying below 25,000 or ...?

Thanks!
5  Economy / Exchanges / Is the Coinbase wallet safe? on: August 03, 2022, 05:13:13 PM
I've been allocating some savings to BTC. I keep seeing exchanges fall, and not your keys not your coin. I've been using the Coinbase wallet app. Is that safe?

If Coinbase goes down am I out?
I need to look into a cold wallet but for right now am I good?
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / How to take profits? on: August 03, 2022, 04:46:39 PM
I am mostly a hodler no matter the market going down or up. But sometimes I get the advice to take some profits.

Example: my investment of 300 euro becomes 500 euro. Is it better to take out my initial investment or only take the profit ? And reinvest that profit ?

How do you guys do this ?

I just feel like i'm missing potential profits by not selling and seeing my potential profits go up and down.
7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / How do whales keep their massive amounts of bitcoin? on: August 03, 2022, 11:02:42 AM
Do they use cold wallets for it like everyone else? If so, do they keep everything in one wallet or do they split the bitcoin into several different wallets?

Let's say 1/3 in Trezor, 1/3 in Ledger, 1/3 in BitBox02? I'm currently trying to transfer my bitcoin from an exchange to a cold wallet for the first time, but I'm wondering if it's safe to keep everything in one wallet from one company.
8  Economy / Trading Discussion / Can Decentralization Exist Without Blockchain? on: August 03, 2022, 10:36:52 AM
More specifically - can decentralized justice/dispute resolution exist without blockchain  technology, or would that just be Online Dispute Resolution? Kleros brings interesting insights to decentralized arbitration. It is built on Ethereum and handles smart contract disputes. However, can a platform such as Kleros, with its use of crowdsourcing and game theoretic incentives, work without blockchain but still be decentralized?
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / How do you keep track of your portfolio stats? on: August 03, 2022, 04:04:30 AM
How do you keep track of your portfolio stats?

I currently have a wallet holding all of my cryptos, and I was wondering what the cost basis for each of my crypto is or how much of an actual net profit or loss that I’ve made from each investment. I’ve used different exchanges and all are held in a wallet that doesn’t keep track of this information.

Do you guys have a method other than manually tracking information like your cost basis with a spreadsheet? I’m considering just biting the bullet and doing it that way but want to make sure that there might be a much easier way of doing this.

Thanks.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / how much you would need to invest to get 1 million dollars USD? on: August 03, 2022, 03:45:50 AM
This is how much you need to invest during the downturn to net 1 million if it ever reaches ATH again.

Been seeing a few popular post and comment asking how much you would need to invest to get 1 million dollars USD if the coin ever reaches ATH again. Here I calculated how much you would need to invest into a coin to net 1 million.

It's just for fun and doesn't take it too seriously since each coin will have its own tokenomics/inflation-deflation-burns. But I think it's a pretty good rough estimate.

the table is ranked by market cap.

11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / how much would someone need in Crypto this bear run to become a millionaire? on: August 03, 2022, 02:55:22 AM
Realistically how much would someone need in Crypto this bear run to become a millionaire aide next bull run?

I know it depends and one alt that pulls a Shiba could mean a small amount. I guess I’m just figuring a general BTC ETH type investment and maybe other higher-ranked Alts.

Assuming we break ATHs again and maybe even clear above a $100k BTC how much money should someone try and get in during this bear/sideways market now?

I’m afraid you would still need like $50k or more to make that kind of money and I do not make enough money to hit that goal within the year...but I’m hopeful maybe $10k could make at least six figures as that seems more realistic for many people here.

What are your stacks like? Goals? Any thoughts?
12  Economy / Speculation / Bitcoin is about to have its biggest monthly gain since October 2021. on: August 02, 2022, 02:31:42 AM
After the start of a much-needed bullish relief this week, bitcoin and crypto are inching closer to getting the best monthly gain since October of 2021when we had the release of the first Futures ETF Bitcoin in the US. That's indeed some much-needed and appreciated relief we are getting right now after months of constant extreme fear and red candles.

How long we will continue to rally or how sustainable this rally is, is quite debate-able but we should just get a bit happy for the moment now, we don't get such times always in crypto and especially after the years past few months. Also, we are not having any significant planned economic event next month as there is no FOMC to raise rates. So we may have some space left on this rally…
13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / How did everyone get into Crypto? on: August 01, 2022, 04:27:28 PM
I'd love to hear how everyone get into Crypto!

For myself , I started getting interested in Crypto (BTC) around the silk road days - through a documentary (I love those classic narco style docs) but I was about 15 at the time and didn't really have any money or the know how to buy it specifically in the New Zealand at the time.

Fast forward 4 years I buy some Bitcoin the day i move to England just for some fun, completely forget about it for 2 years. One day I was completely broke and remembered I had brought some Bitcoin a few years back. I ended up making about £120 on my investment (crazy to me at the time).

Fast forward I couple years and it's COVID, I've moved back in with my parents and I'm getting covid money form the government. I invest every single cent and I've been DCA fortnightly ever since!

Would like to hear your stories!
14  Economy / Trading Discussion / How diversified are you with your investment, crypto aside? on: August 01, 2022, 07:54:34 AM
I'm a young professional, starting working a year ago, and so far I've been placing 20% of my monthly salary into crypto (only crypto).

I understand that it's risky, and would like to save in other ways too. But then whenever I start deciding ...

- savings account offers 0.65% APR, meaning I'd be saving liquidity but also Losing due to inflation.

- traditional markets have less fluctuation but are risky anyway, so may as well stick to BTC and ETH no?

- can't think of any other investment type that yields more than 10% py. Enough to cover inflation.

Any suggestions that could help change my mind?
Or are all you deep into crypto only, like myself ?

Thanks!
15  Other / Politics & Society / What exactly do certain conservative group/people gain by "controlling women"? on: August 01, 2022, 06:52:28 AM
Many people on the liberal side of the political spectrum say that the attempts to restrict, outlaw, and otherwise criminalize abortion are infect attempts by the certain groups and/or individuals to control women, with many people comparing it to the world of the Handmaid's tale.

But how exactly does "controlling women" benefit the people who are supposedly trying to do?

What would be in it for them?
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / What is the most trusted stable coin currently (in your opinion)? on: August 01, 2022, 01:31:32 AM
I know this question has been answered many times before.

However, I want the current market outlook.

Frist:Stablecoins are cryptocurrencies the value of which is pagged, or tied, to that of USD.

I made this post to discuss together which stable coin is the best stable coin in your opinion ?

The current biggest stable coins are:

1- Tether: USD

2- USD Coin: USDC

3- Binance USD: BUSD

4- Dai: Dai

5- True USD: TUSD

These are the biggest by marketcap .

After a research I saw that a lot of negative comments are about USDT.
However, USDC and BUSD seems the most trusted .

What do you think?

Thank you.

17  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Let's have a realistic debate about the highest price of BTC on: July 31, 2022, 03:59:09 PM
I know it's hard to have an actual realistic debate about the future price of BTC.but based off previous cycles, and economics, what do you think the highest price BTC will achieve is?

I know a lot of Money predictions like 500k by 2023, over a million by 2025 get tossed about. Logically, I think that's some hardcore hopefully. But I would have said that 10 years ago , if you told me the ATH would be over 60k.

Is there a price that BTC is limited to?
Or does the built in scarcity of it insure ever increasing price?
What would One BTC at over 1 million do to worldwide economics?
18  Economy / Economics / Why is crypto going up after the news of being in a recession? on: July 31, 2022, 08:25:02 AM
The crypto market definitely behaving in  mysterious ways lately. It seems like we turn from bullish to bearish and vice versa  on the daily.

I find it a bit odd that the market is pumping on the news of a recession.

Is Bitcoin and crypto proving it really is a hedge against the devaluing of the dollar, or is the fact it was only a 75bp hike until September that maybe caused the case for optimism?

Do you guys Believe in this pump or is it just temporary until another leg down?
I personally am not sure so I'm just slowly  DCAing  in to my favourite projects.
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / What will the next Bull run look like? on: July 31, 2022, 01:36:16 AM
Unfortunately,

I join the crypto community at the beginning of the end of the last bull run. I invested heavily quickly and I watched my portfolio dwindle down to the ranges we see today.

I don't regret what I did because it taught me a lot of valuable lessons along the way. I never sold and continued to invest , I now focus on DCA every month.

All this is to say;
I haven't yet had the opportunity to experience a bull run.
I understand form my countless hours researching the space that even I'm 'early considering that the next bull run will likely arrive alongside regulation, then institutional
invest and mass adoption.

Realistically, what will the next bull run look like?

Thank you"
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Today Is Ethereum's Birthday on: July 30, 2022, 02:12:20 PM
I can't even believe that 7 Year have passed.
This time has brought a lot of events.

Finally ,

The long-awaiting POS come soon and Ethereum will go green. Analysis Ethereum , I realized that if you take into account all the tokens issued on Ethereum Network as well as Defi , DEX sidechains, L2, etc..

Ethereum is #1 in terms  of trading volume and network usage. Even the majority of BUSD is issued on the Ethereum Network.

Let's congratulate Ethereum , the Ethereum team and the entire Ethereum community together hope the bast is ahead !

What you think will happen after the transition to POS?

What price could be in the next Bull Season?
