1  Economy / Speculation / What was the most deceitful speculation you ever fell for on: May 16, 2022, 10:32:43 PM
Mine was Bitcoin hitting $100k before the end of 2021 and BNB reaching an ATH of $1k  at the same time. I don't want to mention that of doge coin surpassing $1 and Shiba inu making it's way to 50cents. I think many fell for some of this careless speculations and relied solely on it neglecting our own research in which i too was a victim. What speculation did you fall for
2  Economy / Trading Discussion / A single trading tool is not enough on: April 30, 2022, 06:26:19 AM
To get the best out of any analysis confluence between multiple tools is best because it gives a clear picture of where to possibly set take profit and set a stop loss in case of reversals. For me i Iove support and resistance and so I combine trend lines, moving average, time frame and indicative candle stick making sure my chart is as neat as possible and any signal outside this i avoid it. This keeps my trading discipline in check.

What are your own it can be beneficial to someone else.
3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Is the society matured enough to handle privacy? on: April 08, 2022, 03:41:37 PM
Privacy is good and bad at the same time.  And what becomes of it is dependent  on who handles it and how the handle it.  So far many wants to have bitcoin  ditch  out  fiat not for the intent of  having total control of their funds but for the sake of funding illegal activities  online without  any point of trace,  regulations,  monitoring  or prevention.

I am not disputing  the fact many still have genuine  reason for going private which include bank frustration and restrictions,  withdrawal  limits and declaration  of assets and investment as claim for legal possession  of a certain  amount  of fiat in a local bank.

But with the insecurity  and economic  crisis hitting the world from all angle is it still safe to agitate for a complete  decentralized  society  ditching  the fiat for bitcoin.  I only see both existing  together  with more preference on decentralization  but my concern  is if man is matured enough to handle the innovation or are you also seeing the abuse  of privacy coming along with it
4  Economy / Reputation / my senior member achievement on: March 27, 2022, 01:05:24 AM
Knowledge is one factor that keeps a scholar in a perpetual cycle of research and findings. I have tried keeping up to quality but at times it looks like a bunch of imperfection. But one thing that has always kept me going is the saying "fake it until you make it" and another which says "Keep moving until you get there". I might not have arrived at my desired understanding about how the crypto cycle work but one thing that brings me joy is the fact i keep adding to what i used to know no matter how slow it seems to pump in.

I have made a better study calendar to keep up to my new rank and wahoo it will be awesome and mind blowing this time, more engaging topics, good discussion replies and wonderful feed backs on quality jobs. I think it's not just enough ranking up. Keeping up to the knowledge that is expect from the new rank is also a necessity and that i will live up to. Hero member in view on a short goal term..

congratulations to me
5  Other / Beginners & Help / Crypto Argument is what makes the investment all fun on: March 25, 2022, 01:50:46 AM
One thing i have come to love about the forum is the tons of knowledge and the attacking spirit backed with so much knowledge and enthusiast. I mean the kind of argument on the forum is unique in it's own base. An argument with good facts, knowledge based and educational content. I keep telling my self if there is any where i will love to spend my data making arguments all day then bitcointalk is the answer.

I have a base in crypto investment is a product of the forum. I have come understand the long standing adage which states " A man is a product of his daily activities". The best way to do a thing is to start. At this point i can comfortably hold a crypto discussion with friends without lacking words to say. And even though i get lost trust me i return back to my research because the knowledge in the crypto industry is insatiable. I rather do my arguments where i can learn other than waste them on some sort of careless fun

6  Economy / Economics / online skills in the face of war on: March 24, 2022, 11:23:03 AM
I was thinking within me and my thoughts was if  everyone needs to get a digital skill in-spite of their profession or discipline. looking at it from the angle of declining economies where political, societal, ethnic, cultural, religious, territorial and economic war is hitting the apex as well as currency devaluation. Following this high level of declining economy is it best to get a digital skill either as a full time business or a complementary pay check.

Salaries and wages this days aren't sufficient any longer to handle daily bills, most salary earners still live below their salaries which keeps them in perpetual debt. Now in this era the best place to meet a vast crowd of clients is on an online platform and this way more services can be rendered within lesser time with more patronage. So i began my thoughts is digital skill the alternative

If we try to analyze this critically we might say this insufficiency in pay checks is one of the factors that is triggering greed, selfish and money conscious services around organizations. I was thinking If many get an side paying job with digital skill that can help handle bills it might be a gateway to reducing the self centered services we receive

Are you thinking what i am thinking or you have a different view

7  Other / Beginners & Help / Are we saying the value is more important than quantity on: March 17, 2022, 09:46:58 AM
i made a thread on bitcoin is a game of quantity but majority are of the opinion that bitcoin price is all that matters neglecting the opportunity of that comes with the dip. My question now is what is the need of investment if the amount of coin before the dip is exactly the same during the new bump. I strongly believe if as an investor the major concern is centered only on how much you are making with your capital neglecting the chances of increasing your amount of coin in your wallet then such is more of a gambler and less of an investor
8  Other / Meta / Ukraine and Russians should have a joint board on: March 16, 2022, 09:33:35 AM
In the face of the present attack across Ukraine, peace amongst the two county's citizens should be the major concern. I was actually thinking that the peaceful dialogue can actually begin from the forum and one of the ways to achieving that is through having a board where both countries will ensure peace amongst themselves first while we wait for the leaders of both countries to come into a peaceful compromise amongst themselves.

We all know no one benefits from war and it's not always the best way to express grievances and displeasure. Peaceful dialogue can play better role in settling misunderstanding. The joint board can first establish a minor peace before we await the major
9  Economy / Economics / Bitcoin is a game of quantity on: March 16, 2022, 07:59:10 AM
Unlike other general asset that depends on quality to quantify it's value, bitcoin makes more sense based on how many btc you have not just how much of it. The earlier investors come to appreciate bitcoin based on it's own personal value not based on it's fiat value the better for their investment skill. The goal when it comes to bitcoin investment should be focused more on owning more coin not even on what the price is in relation to fiat

There are always huge promising future for bitcoin  so even in the dip the target should be focused more on when to sell so as to buy more coin. buying shouldn't be a focus of the fiat value but rather a focus of how many btc is available in your custody. To get the best of Bitcoin investment the focus of how many of this coin you are investing should be the major concern and not the fiat value thereof.

For example if you own 0.1btc whose value is $4042.79 at the moment of posting and the price eventually drops the panic shouldn't be the fallen price, it's best to sell at a lower high and buy back at a lower lows in all the concern should be to get more coin, taking advantage of the dip to buy more. The major concern for bitcoiners is to make profit no matter the market trend. Every investor always anticipate to be in profit no matter the trend and the only way out is focusing more on the quantity and not the value
10  Other / Beginners & Help / In a world where trust fails on: March 14, 2022, 08:49:35 AM
We now live in a society where no one trust each other for a reliable business any longer. A world where greed and selfishness is eating up the world at large, a world where every one thinks about only themselves and what the stand to gain in every process they engage in not minding if others had a stake.

I have come to fully appreciate the innovation of Bitcoin and Blockchain that has opened the door to decentralization. A peer-2-peer network system where everyone is protecting their interest through a consensus mechanism. If it must work we all must make it work kind of mindset. A system where everyone needs each other to keep the vision growing.

Now there will be no need for fear of greed or self centered motives because for the system to  get altered every one must come in agreement like wise the same concept if the vision must continue working. No one has autonomy of the system, no central authority no regulatory agency. Satoshi really saw the future of mankind and taught of this innovation

#Thanks to Satoshi
11  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Is there a new code to download bitcoin source code on: March 04, 2022, 10:01:29 AM
I tried playing around the source code on github after downloading i tried copying the code using "clone" but can't get the exact output as shown in the example, I tried the code i got from a booklet but its not responding
This is meant to be the expected output
In this example, we are using the git command to create a local copy (“clone”) of the source code:
Code:
$ git clone https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin.git
Cloning into 'bitcoin'...
remote: Counting objects: 66193, done.
remote: Total 66193 (delta 0), reused 0 (delta 0), pack-reused 66193
Receiving objects: 100% (66193/66193), 63.39 MiB | 574.00 KiB/s, done.
Resolving deltas: 100% (48395/48395), done.
Checking connectivity... done.
$
my output could there be a better code for this?

12  Economy / Economics / Decentralized assets might be the saving grace after the war on: March 02, 2022, 09:04:44 AM
When ever the thoughts of war rings many seems not to look after the effect it will likely play on the economy and the cost of restructuring damaged property even the devaluation of local currencies. It's sad Putin took laws in his hands by invading Ukraine and i guess the outcome now might not be what he actually expected and at the moment where Russia has gotten different sanctions it will be wiser for Russian citizens to switch most of their assets to decentralized cryptocurrencies so they have a link to bounce back to after the war.

For Ukraine i guess NATO and other world organizations will make donations to help rebuild the nation but for Russia it will be starting up a new economy from what ever is left having tampered most of their reserve to build sophisticated weapons which has served as a treat to other countries who wished to help Ukraine. But i feel the numerous sanctions so far might serve it's own purpose to help curb the attack on Ukraine

13  Other / Beginners & Help / I was wondering will 21,000 million satisfy? on: February 23, 2022, 02:35:37 PM
By the year 2140 the last bitcoin that will ever be mined will have been mined and then miners will switch completely to transaction fees as their reward for validating transactions. mine you full node miners perform basically two functions which include:
  • validate transactions
  • mint new coins
Before we consider this two functions. The bitcoin halving which occurs every four years ensures the total number of bitcoin that will ever be in existence will not exceed 21,000 million bitcoin.

will 21,000 million bitcoin be enough for the masses
Bitcoin is highly divisible. meaning in every 1 bitcoin there 100 million  satoshi's and the smallest sat is 0.00000001(1millibit) so its highly divisible nature will make bitcoin available to the masses and will be more than enough

What if miners decides to increases the bitcoin number is it really possible?
Yes it can be achieved but it simply means majority of the nodes that encompasses different miners on the network has to be in agreement and what eventually happens if more nodes are against this Then Bitcoin will definitely become two since the miners might likely spit since there are no longer in consensus.

if they split what will happen to the two bitcoin values
It just like having an original and a fake product. One will inflate and the other will deflate

since both are built on the same open source code why can't the two add up the same value
Now both might be tackling the same decentralized asset ownership and spending issue but since both will run on different software one will defintely get more adoption than the other and what controls market price is demand and supplyso both might not gain equal attention.

What are your take on this?
14  Other / Meta / What do the forum mean by leet on: February 19, 2022, 12:45:23 PM

15  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / One Remarkable thing about Bitcoin on: February 16, 2022, 01:12:29 PM
In the present econometric society where compromised and unreliable database has stirred up doubts and trust issues amongst citizens in a  centralized society came a technology that actually proved integrity can be maintained using a distributed ledger that runs on a decentralized network  doing this through a proof of work algorithm to achieve a global consensus which has been a major challenge in all manipulative and controlled centralized database in any distributed computing.

Bitcoin birth has triggered lots of inquisitiveness to the mystery behind the technology even though cryptography existed as far back as 1990s, this early cryptographic discoveries didn't see any significant progress because it was tied down to a centralized value (basically gold and fiat) after its creation this gave room to different manipulations and compromise making sure the poor never had access to play part in the big game so the can always keep the masses in check.

what has bitcoin got to do with this:
Satoshi has cleared the doubt that transparent, well trusted  and reliable database can be generated in a decentralized network where no central third party serve as an intermediary how? it is simple by solving the Byzantine General's problem which is a process where a collective network of individuals or central authority tries to effect a change, follow  a course of action or make a general agreement on the state of a system on a highly compromised and unreliable network.

[/b] How was satoshi able to solve this?[/b]
Satoshi was able to solve this big economic issue by introducing a decentralized public ledger that relies on a proof of work algorithm to establish any valid consensus. Which means nothing on the network is hidden and no process can be undone since tampering with a single data on the blockchain will affect every other entry down to the genesis block rendering the whole database void and all this approach don't need a central authority to decide which data comes first rather than a consensus of the nodes on the network even satoshi himself doesn't have autonomy over the network what a selfless service

Why should this be your concern
A new technology is launched and is creping into our financial institution gradually it might not necessarily replace the fiat currency but one this i am excited about is that on the long run it will spring up innovations to improve on the centralization issues and still give more edge to bitcoin adoption either as a technology, a currency , an asset or a network which ever way Bitcoin will get more adoption. cheers!!
16  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Mempool clearity on: February 14, 2022, 11:42:17 AM
I just need a little clarity on the mempool transactions. If a transaction is already verified wouldn't it be automatically added to the previously hashed block what other confirmation is actually needed if the nodes on the network has already verified the transaction I got confused with the concept so I decided to do a share here to get more clearity. Who else is responsible for the confirmation since the nodes has done the verification already?
17  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / What would you improve about Bitcoin if you had the chance ? on: February 11, 2022, 06:33:05 PM
In as much as my private key gives me full control of my funds and it grants me access to sign a transaction if it gets misplaced then I'm doom for life. What if there was an improvement on this maybe a way of recovering back ones private key if it gets misplaced even if it would take a proof of work alogrithm or even a more tudious process but having a chance to get back lost wallets in cases of carelessness or maybe hazardous damage since it's not advisable to store private keys online nor would it possible for everyone to memorize this combined alpha-numeric values of SHA256 alogrithm
18  Other / Beginners & Help / after 2140 on: February 08, 2022, 03:15:02 PM
once the last bitcoin is mined possibly by 2140 hitting the said target of 21million bitcoin in circulation after series of halving before the said date as proposed by satoshi will there be honest nodes who will be satisfied with earning only from transaction fee?. So far we have reached series of consensus in the blocks, having honest nodes who  have maintained a good public ledger and has helped make bitcoin appreciated by all. I know the existing nodes will continue to stay honest but how about future volunteers who would choose to mine in the future will transaction fee be enough to compensate them for their time as the consistently confirm transactions through consensus algorithm thereby creating new honest blocks. sorry if my thoughts is weird but i just feel concerned since bitcoin belongs to us all.
19  Economy / Economics / Let's assume David chaum took the $180 million in 1999 on: February 01, 2022, 05:14:42 PM
David chaum the founder of the first crypto currency (Digicash) that stirred up lots of reactions way back 1999. After been offered $180 million on his inventory by Microsoft who had plans on installing it on every computer which he turned down even when he didn't have much funds to sponsor the project and didn't even know how to sell his digital currency to the world and when he went bankrupt the idea died. Let's assume Chaum sold his project to Microsoft would it have had similar impact Bitcoin has on the society today. Will the market capitalization be as high as Bitcoin or would it still have failed?. If it had made much progress would Bitcoin have taken the place of been addressed as an altcoin?

A woman who jumped to her death from a New York City high rise apartment building has been identified as former Miss USA Cheslie Kryst.

The 2019 pageant winner who had a ninth floor apartment in Manhattan’s 60-storey Orion Building was found dead in the street below on Sunday morning.

The 30-year-old was last seen on a terrace win the building’s 29th floor shortly after 7am, sources told The New York Post.

broken,” the company said in a statement.

“Cheslie was not just a vital part of our show. She was a beloved part of our Extra family and touched the entire staff. Our deepest condolences to all her family and friends.”

Just hours before her death, Kryst wrote on Instagram, “May this day bring you rest and peace.”

Investigators have not said why they believed she took her own life, according to the Post.
I just believe money and fame isn't just enough in our present society even the rich also cry. It would be nicer if we don't just sit back and assume people are doing fine because we feel they have the money to buy what ever they need I wish someone was able to talk her out of this. I can't still wrap my head around why this Pretty damsel will have to end her own life this way. [Rest in peace Former Miss USA Cheslie Kryst. It's too hard to say  I wish this wasn't true Cry Cry
