1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / A creative way to introduce BTC to newcomers on: August 25, 2023, 10:16:06 AM
One of the biggest issues that I find is that Bitcoin seems to boring of a topic for most people...technology, money, socio-economic issues...
So for the past year and a half I've been working on this piece of art that turned into a newbie-friendly, fun and colorful mini movie,
that takes you through the roller coaster ride of bitcoin's 13-year history Smiley

2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Let's spread the word on: January 03, 2022, 01:31:22 PM
3 years ago, a good friend has showed me a 17 minute long interview about bitcoin.
I didn't know much about bitcoin, and the video explained what it was really about.
It's a social-economic revolution against the tyranny of the hierarchic powers that are in control.

My life changed completely after that.
Suddenly all I cared about was spreading the word and changing the world.

I must have watched it more than 50 times. Turns out that I wasn't the only one who's life has changed after watching it.
The interview has become a cult classic among the Israeli community.

Since, I haven't come across any other video that managed to explain everything that newcomers need to know about bitcoin.
Unfortunately, the video is in Hebrew so not many people can understand it, so I decided to translate it.

Not just that - I made a new version of the video with an English voice over, and added tons of nuggets.
it took months to complete and I'm very happy to finally release it as a Bar Mitzvah present to Bitcoin Wink

Looking back, it's incredible that this interview is from 2014. Seems like a prophecy.
It's a treat for maxis, while it's aimed for newbies as well.

I hope you enjoy it,
and you are welcome to help spread the word! Smiley
3  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Question about confirmations and reorg on: February 15, 2021, 02:07:09 PM
Hi guys (and gals? Tongue)

So here's what I'm Wondering;
After a transaction is made, is there any chance it won't be confirmed at all? If so, what would cause it not to be and what are the odds of that?
If there's a re-org and the transaction goes back into the mem-pool, would it be confirmed automatically later?

Also, what was the longest period of time you had to wait for a confirmation?
I once made a transaction that took almost a day for it to be confirmed, and if I remember right it also took a long time until it even appeared in the recipient's wallet. could it have been the result of a bad wallet? It was about a year ago so I don't think the network was very busy.

Thanks!
4  Economy / Exchanges / what does total(btc) mean in kucoin? on: January 07, 2021, 12:28:09 AM
Hi. I just started using KuCoin, in the order book there's 'Amounts(BTC)' and next to it 'Total(BTC)', not sure what does that say exactly.

Thanks,
DoDMT
5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / [SOLVED] Restore Ledger Nano X with passphrase (seed) on: November 14, 2020, 02:28:16 PM
Hello.
I'm using Ledger Nano X, and I forgot my Ledger Live App password so I can't access it. I do have my 24 words of course.

So I reinstalled Ledger Live. I open it and go to "restore device from recovery phrase", select the nano X device, and the instructions are as follows:
1.connect ledger nano X (ok fine)
2.press both buttons as instructed on your ledger nano x screen (guess they mean TURN DEVICE ON)
3.Press both buttons to select Restore from recovery phrase (WHERE?)

here is the problem - there is no such option on the device.
all I the option I have are:
"bitcoin" (that's for accessing the wallet which I lost the password to), "install app", and "control center", which has the following settings menu:
General (nothing useful there), and Security (Change PIN, passphrase[attach to pin, set temporary], auto lock, reset pairings, reset all).

I'm guessing maybe I need one of the reset options?
I'm definitely not pressing anything that says "reset" before I'm sure what they do exactly.
The support on the ledger website is useless.

maybe I'm supposed to start with "set up as new device" instead of "restore device from recovery phrase"?

Thanks in advance, hope I was clear enough.
