I work at a small Canadian computer store and I am trying to convince my boss to overhaul our webstore to include GPUs and accept Bitcoin.  As one of the biggest hurdles Bitcoin faces right now is people NOT spending their coins, I figured this would give everyone a place to spend their BTC directly on computer equipment.

Just wanted to gauge interest before I pushed too hard.
4  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / 5870 and 6950 on: September 15, 2011, 05:44:17 PM
Asus M4ATD88-v Evo /USB3.0
2 x Gigabyte 5870
1 x Gigabyte 6950
1 x PCI to PCIe adapter from Cablesaurus
1 x PCIe 16x to 16x extender

Problem I am having is a standard PCI to PCI bridge driver is not starting up (code 10).

Anyone have any ideas?  I am currently updating the BIOS on the board to see if that helps but I wanted to put this out there to see if there was anything else I should do.

7  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / 5870 connection problems on: July 15, 2011, 01:48:51 PM
My rig is running 2 x 5870 cards at 925/625.  Getting 400mh/s.  Problem is that quite frequently one of the cards loses connection.  The other card keeps ticking away and the system is running fine.

Any ideas?

Cant seem to hit that 800mh/s mark.  Right now hitting 775 mh/s consistent.

I have the card at 900/600 which is the most MSI Afterburner seems to let me do.  I have tried setting the values and restarting the machine but it wont let me go any furhter.

Flags on GUI Miner -v -w128

Anyone have any ideas or tips?
9  Other / Beginners & Help / Dummy Plugs? on: June 28, 2011, 04:19:34 PM
I am building a system with 2 x 5870s.  Do I need to use a dummy plug or just set them up in Crossfire to hit 800Mh/s?
10  Other / Beginners & Help / Breakdown of profit running 2 x 5870 on: June 27, 2011, 03:10:57 AM
I have the chance to buy 2 5870s for just under $600.

With the current difficulty, is it profitable to be mining anymore?

Thanks.
