2  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / running more then 6 GPU's on: October 31, 2011, 07:27:33 PM
anybody have any luck running more then 6 GPU's
I have only tried in windows 7 64bit but when ever i add a 7'th GPU my hash rate drops down to 50% - 75%.
I have more then enough PSU to do the job. so not sure why there is a problem.

tested with 7 5830's (7 individual cards)
and 1 6990, 1 5870 & 4 5830's

each time i had to remove 1 of the 5830's from the machine to get full hash rate.

initial post here with hardware spec https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=39911

I currently have 4 6970 cards to 1500w Strider power supply...
and was wondering if i could add a 5'th one.
or will it pull to much power?

CPU:i3-2100
and 1 harddrive.

4  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / 7x 5830 in 1 rig and GPUs only at 75% load on: August 28, 2011, 09:03:24 PM
I have a problem with my mining rig.
I have 7 5830 saphire extream cards in 1 rig.
the motherboard is a P8P67 so 7 PCIe slots (4 16x, 3 1X)
Powersupply is a Antec AX1200 Single rail.

I have the cards set up to use PCIE cable extenders and the 3 1X cards are using 12v molex connectors on the extenders.

earlier today i only had 6 cards in the board and was running at 100%GPU load.
Power from the wall was 900 to 950W
adding the 7'th card dropped my GPU load to about 75%, this occurs even when running with stock settings.
however they are all mining.
I'm using CGminer as the mining software running in windows 7 64bit.

why is it only running at 75%.
I would like to get it up to 100% again.

any help on this would be great.

edit
using ATI 11.8 drivers
