3. Feature requests (by me)
4. General code cleaning
5. Bug testing

I will pay handsomely for the right coder/coders. No problem with escrow or something like payment release when milestones are reached. I just wanna get this done.

3  Economy / Services / Professional Penetration Tests on: August 19, 2014, 04:35:09 PM
Hello,

We are offering our professional penetration testing services. This is your chance to eliminate your company/site as the next: Mintpal, Mtgox, Bitcoinica, Bter, BTC-e, Poloniex, etc. (The list goes on and on, sadly.)

Everyone on the team (excluding the Jr. slaves^H^H^H^H^H^Hmembers) have been testing for 5+ years.

We can offer the following:

1. Web application testing
 - Framework testing
 - Remote application testing
    - Injection testing
    - Remote Command Exection
    - Information Disclosure
    - Session fixation vulnerabilities
    - Lots more.
 - Code Audit* (PHP, Perl, Ruby, JSP)
2. Infrastructure testing
 - Servers
 - Routing equipment
 - VoIP
 - VPN
3. Denial of Service testing ( Dangerous! )

* Code audit is generally not billed the same way as regular pen-tests. Pen-tests are completed with a time limit. Code audit generally requires more time and will be billed accordingly based on the complexity, language, and size of the program.

The above list is just an example/rough list of things offered. Please do not hesitate to contact us and see what we can do for you.
---------------------------

I feel it is necessary to state the following:

A Penetration Test is not always a 100% complete assessment. It is generally performed with a time limit that's decided by the customer. Because of this, we will attempt to discover and probe as much as possible with the given time but things *can* be missed.

If you'd like a deeper audit, we are more than happy to offer it. In the past, we've offered customers the option to have a full day audit as opposed to the regular 2-3 hours. It should be noted, however, if you only have a simple web application and a few servers, paying for the full audit may be overkill. Or it may be just what you need. Every situation is different.

Thanks in advance for reading this and we hope to serve the Bitcoin community as best as we can.

References and Resumes available. Reference list is extremely truncated due to NDAs. Reference list will not contain anything related to the company/IP addresses/findings/etc.

5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Creating revolutionary new alt-coin.. Need people to bounce ideas off of on: August 09, 2014, 08:28:07 PM
Hi there,

I'm in the process of securing funding to create, what I believe, will be a revolutionary new alt coin.

The idea:

Currently, the work processed by miners for coins has no meaning outside the blockchain for that specific coin. My new coin will have a modular design and allow for new work to be added and computed. This idea is not *completely* new. Coins like Riecoin, Primecoin, Namecoin, etc, have been doing this same idea. However, even though their processing work that is meaningful, most of them have been fairly useless. I want to create something that doesn't just process some math works and have meaning to a few people. I want to process work for a broad audience and potentially change the world.

For example:

A group of students at a university have an idea that needs a lot of CPU/GPU time and they are unable to secure computing time on a supercomputer. As a solution, they create a module for my coin and allow people to volunteer their processing time to compute for them. This work is computed and while it still confirms transactions on the network, it also computes the specific type of data they need.

So, we get transactions confirmed and we also help a project at the same time.

The work is not limited to academic work. Anything that requires CPU/GPU time can be added. Password recovery, data encoding/decoding, etc.

Current status:

Currently all the coin does is crack password hashes. I figured this would be a good starting point as it gives incentive to both CPU and GPU miners as not all hashes are generated optimally by GPU.

What I'd like to bounce off people for ideas:

1. The work module system
Should it be coded in C? Should it be scripting based?

Advantages to C:
a. Fast
b. Allows for modular design

Advantages to scripting based:
a. Easy
b. Appeals to a broader audience due to scripting being easier than actual programming

2. Payment
How do we decide payment for each work module? Should each module pay out the same?

3. Work delegation
Should we allow certain modules to be selected to work on or should it work in a round-robin type system where each project gets a fair share of work from the network
---------------------------

I'd like to hear what people think about this and if you have any ideas of your own, PLEASE, feel free to interject. This project will be posted to BTCJam shortly as soon as all my identification stuff is processed.

Guys, This is a really revolutionary idea and could change the way alt-coins are made. Think of all the hashing time that is dedicated to these coins and is essentially wasted because all it does is compute useless hashing to verify transactions. If we can change this work to something MEANINGFUL.. Hell, we could cure cancer. We could process SETI data. The possibilities are ENDLESS.

Thanks for reading this.

6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / anyone know who runs ext-pool? on: July 08, 2014, 04:05:08 AM

Anyone know who runs/owns it?
7  Economy / Long-term offers / [Loan Req] Loan for coding, new coin. Not a typical scrypt crap clone on: June 14, 2014, 02:51:45 AM
hi there,

i'm seeking a $2900 loan for coding work to complete a proof-of-concept coin i've been designing for some time now. once the PoC is completed, it will be posted to btcjam and funded there.

Loan is to be repaid by .6 BTC increments every other day. But we do reserve the right to pay every day, it depends on how the miners/market are doing.. The interest rate is approx 19%.. Which is really good for the time itll take to be repaid.

i already had someone who was interested in funding it but required me to use PayPal and PP held the funds for 21 days.. Don't wanna be paying back a loan I can't even use..

I have had successful loans in the past. In all fairness i did have a late payment to haploid23, but i did pay him back in full and some extra to make things OK. By waiting he actually ended up making more Smiley

If you're interested in the coin or the loan, please do not hesitate to message me. I might require you to sign a NDA depending on your trust/account age.. Ive already had two of my ideas stolen.. One by pirateat40 for gpumax.. but he got what he deserved, believe in karma now.

Anyway, the general jist of the coin is that we're changing the work the miners do to something thats valuable OUTSIDE the blockchain... Sort of like a namecoin but more useful...

The work is kind of secret now but we're in the process of recoding the bitcoind code base OR the cryptoNote code base to have a modular work system.. so once we're done other people can plant their own versions of the work they want accomplished by a distributed group.. and if the work is valuable people will want to mine it and get rewarded.. your work gets done, people get rewarded.. everyone wins.

The real trick of this is having the miners do work that someone would pay a LOT for ... Thats the idea i've come up with so far..

Anyway, thanks for taking the time to read this. Lets get rich together... There is a small team of us so far.. if you wanna help out and not be the loan-giver, please do not hesitate to contact me..

9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Redefining the usefulness of the work miners do. (New coin, new methods) on: June 13, 2014, 08:48:03 PM
Hi all,

DISCLAIMER: This post is half rant, (hopefully) half useful information.

If you know me very well, you know what this post is about because I've been yammering on and on about it for about a year now.

If not, I am attempting to create the future of Crypto Currencies. First of all, I am absolutely in love with Namecoin. Not for its value, not for its code base, (definitely) not for its level of success, but simply because its blockchain serves a purpose. It doesn't just fill up your hard drive with useless transaction data. I am tired of seeing all these new Scrypt/X11/SHA/whatever crap clone coins that don't offer anything new except a new venue for pump-n-dumpers, noobs to potentially lose money or 'make' money (you're not making money, you're just profiting off someone else's poor trade decision). I know some of the newer X11 coins are offering some level of anonymity and messaging.. who cares? Bitcoin is already plenty anonymous if you use new addresses LIKE YOURE MEANT TO. And encrypted messaging? Woof guys. really. I've had Pidgin+OTR for over 3 years now. I don't need ANOTHER chat client built into my wallet.

If you're smart, you'll realize these new features are just bloat designed to disguise the fact that the coin is exactly the same as every other coin. Developer likely just wants to cash in. (Disclaimer: Ofcourse, I am planning on cashing in with my new coin. The original workers on the network will be machines under my/our control. We also need to find some early people who want to submit the type of work or else the miners wont have anything to do, lol).

Ok, enough rant. Let me fill you guys in on this without giving the idea completely away.. I learned my lesson finally. (I proposed the idea of mining contracts purchased at will with no minimum or maximum time commitment to pirateat40 via IRC... Two months later.. GPUmax comes out and guess who didn't get any credit or any money.. yea it was me).

My current problems with Crypto Currency/Altcoins:
Problem: Miners perform LOADS of work and it mostly has no bearing outside of that coin. Basically, all the work you do is only suited for one thing. Its useless outside of the coin. I hate this. Its a waste of money/power/processing power. Save for a few coins, like RIC/XPM. But even that work could honestly be deemed fairly useless aside from the scientific uses... Which are small. Sorry math geex =)

How the coin I'm creating fixes this: Kind of a loaded question. Lets break it down.

1. We're rewriting either the CryptoNote core or the Bitcoin core.. We are ripping out the hashing functions, etc, and we are designing a modular system that allows you to implement new methods of work, hopefully with ease provided you're proficient with C/C++ and can read documentation.. This is WAY easier said than done. That fact is not lost on me.

2. The first version of the coin will have a pretty static purpose. We're creating a business around it and it's gonna be suuuuper profitable. The work we've chosen appeals to both GPU *and* CPU miners. Theyll both be doing different things but the payout will be the same for them. You're probably saying oh great.. The payout is the same so the GPU farmers will be making bank while the poor CPU miners will be making nothing. Not true. A GPU should make you as much as a CPU. You're both working towards the same task but different parts of it. I can explain this in more depth but you'd need to sign a NDA.

It's still similar. 1. Miner connects to daemon 2. downloads a block(or chunk) of work 3. processes it 4. sends it to the network 5. if he or she is a lucky kiddo, they get some coins for reward.

Where our coin differs from others is the process and the upload. The processing is a custom function and it has LOADS of value to the outside work. NOT just crypto currency enthusiasts or geeks.

tl;dr == New coin clones just are the same old same old, miners are just confirming transactions but the work they do is useless. We want to still confirm transactions but have the work serve a proper purpose that's valuable to a wide audience.

People will process work for us, get coins as reward, they can either trade those coins or use them to submit work to the network. How many coins you send in will determine the percentage of the network that will work on it, how long, and certain parameters for the work. (sign the NDA and you can know!)

We still need to decide how the work will be submitted to the network by an end-user. Im thinking of releasing some portal software and users can be portals to submit work if they have X amount of the coin. Another idea is to just setup *one* portal and have all coins submitted be destroyed after the work is submitted. I dunno, I feel the second option will cause the conspiracy nuts to... go nuts.

----------------

This is just a basic write up of this. I need help. I need smart people. I need people who might not BE smart but know how to learn and google. I need people who're enthusiastic and care about crypto currency. Most importantly, you should probably want cryptocurrencys to not be one trick ponies. I am still so surprised theres not more coins coming out that have more than one function like Namecoin.

Most importantly. We need money. Well, Bitcoins. I'm considering posting the PoC (proof of concept) to BTCJam and seeing if there are any interested investors but then again, I'm still afraid of someone with WAY more resources than me stealing the idea and just cutting me out. (See: pirateat40 + gpumax + me).

I had a loan all lined up with a nice guy from LocalBitcoins but once he sent it to me PayPal was like Hey, we're keeping this for 21 days. Only way to unlock it was to remove the buyer protection and I didn't want him to do that. Even though I'm legit and would pay him back.. It would just seem weird. Ya know? Like to keep everything above water.

So, if you wanna get involved, or invest, or know someone who will invest -OR- have some input. Let it rip. I want the feedback. If you're just so damn curious about this and you just wanna sign the NDA to hear about it.. that's OK too. =)

10  Economy / Scam Accusations / [LBC WARNING] 'DiamondBTCGroup' on: May 24, 2014, 11:30:10 PM
Hi all,

Just got scammed on LBC for approx $1000 by user 'DiamondBTCGroup'.

Basically, sent the BTC via Escrow, he got it, did the WU. I verified it was active and ready to be picked up. Release the escrow (dumb, but he had perfect feedback, etc)

Arrived at Stop N Shop to pick it up, clerk informs me 'Another terminal is currently processing this transaction'... Which is strange cause the WU was sent to *me*, my name, my address, so thats pretty much damn impossible. I say OK, wait about 10 min. Ask him to re-run it and at this time the MCTN is no longer valid in my state. Tried to contact user on LBC multiple times, no response.

Stupid of me for trying to diversify my ratings on LBC. I'm sticking to the three people I know/use that are legit.

My LBC Legit list (so far, selling my BTC for their WU/MG)

Payments made daily, not at the end.

Offering ~30% on 2.3 BTC loan ($1000 + $300 repaid within 8 days)

If anyone is interested, please shoot me a private message for more details.

14  Economy / Lending / Stay safe boys, please read this if you're trying to get a loan on: May 08, 2014, 07:59:57 PM
Hello,

I've received several loans from the 'Lending' section in the past with little to no issue. It appears that due to Bitcoin's popularity there is a new influx of traders and scammers to Bitcointalk.

So, I got scammed the other day. Here's what I've learned from my short experience.

1. All lenders want collateral to prove that you're legit/not a scammer.
--- THIS GOES BOTH WAYS (just like your mom) ---

They're asking you to prove that you're legit, shouldn't they be held to the same standard?

2. Ratings from other sites are pretty much NULL & VOID. (if not null, worth pennies on the dollar in terms of trust)

When I was scammed, I was duped by a user claiming his LocalBitcoins feedback was legit & 100%.

For one, the account could be hacked, manipulated, etc. Secondly, Even if their LBC account is legit and they're a good trader it means absolutely nothing to you. If they do scam you its not like you can use that LBC account name and do anything with it. You can't neg-rate them or anything unless you're in a transaction with them.

3. If you're being turned down left and right by lenders, verified & legit vendors that is, and all of a sudden someone comes out of the shadows and accepts your wonky terms.. You're likely about to get scammed.

4. Don't lend/get a loan in a RUSH.

The loan I wanted to do was .. get a loan, repay the loan in my hourly miner payouts. Fairly high risk for the lender, even though i can prove my setup and payouts.
This dude 'LendingTree' pops out of the shadows offering to do it. I was in a bind cause I needed the money for rent so I went against my better judgement and did it. Got scammed.

Anyway guys, I just wanted to share this with you so you don't get into a bind like I'm in. (Scammer scammed my rent payment, So im evicted/homeless now)

Unfortunately I likely wont be able to post much anymore due to the ehmm.. homelessness but:

*please be safe guys*! *please be safe guys*! *please be safe guys*! *please be safe guys*! *please be safe guys*! *please be safe guys*! *please be safe guys*!

15  Economy / Lending / Filled - Lock on: May 06, 2014, 11:23:17 PM
EDIT: This loan is to ship a package. I need a credit card to do it, so if you'd be willing to login to my USPS account and do it, that would be so super huge for me. This would also offer you a great amount of protection against any fraud/monkey business.

Hi guys,

Well, yesterday I got burned by a scammer lender pretty bad. So today.. I'm back..but not being stupid (Hopefully)

Anyway, here's the long and short:

I need approximately $110. I have a mining rig right now, mining Riecoins, that makes approx $150/day. I will gladly verify this to you. I can let you login to my pool account and you can see stats. I'd prefer instead of you collecting the loan+fee at the end, you take the daily payouts. I set my payout at 220 RIC, which means you get about 12-13 payouts every 24 hrs.

I will give you a full day of mining rewards in return for the loan. I have some BTC/RIC on me now that can be used as collateral (Ofcourse, this is how I got burned yesterday)

Trust is necessary or at least *some* way I can verify you're legit. There's a good chance you'll be semi-overpaid as the miners may hit the amount when Im sleeping.. We can decide what to do about that after. If you're nice I'll most likely just let you keep it.

As for my legitimacy, I will give you a scan of my passport, info, etc, whatever you want. Just promise me you'll keep it private =/

tl;dr = Need $110, Paid back in 1 day with RIC miner reward/payout. Can verify all mining operation/account/payout
16  Economy / Scam Accusations / Beware 'LendingTree' on: May 06, 2014, 04:08:31 AM
Hi all,

I was involved in a loan with LendingTree.

The deal was:

I'd give him my daily 12x220 Riecoin payouts plus my current RIC holdings in exchange for a $1000 loan.

He responded quickly and was quite polite, until he had my coins.

Then it was one problem after another, then he claimed he had to 'go home cause his kids were there' and he had told me he came straight from work before.

To make a long story short, he took my collateral, strung me along for a few hours, then stopped responding.

If he decides to make good on this loan, I will remove this thread but I'm not holding my breathe. Please be careful.

It should also be noted I needed this loan for a rent payment on my apartment, which I can no longer pay and am evicted as of 9AM tomorrow morning.

When it rains it pours.

17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / [$300 profit opportunity] Loan for mining payout [Got scammed, Still open!] on: May 05, 2014, 04:02:18 AM
EDIT: The lender who I was working with scammed me and stole my collateral, this offer is still open for anyone with TRUST ratings.

Hi,

Since I had a pretty damn good success doing this with my XPM wallet previously, I'm offering it again, except for Riecoin this time.

The long and short:

I currently make between $130-$150/day mining RIC (Riecoins). Once again, I am out of money until I get paid at the end of the month.

The deal:
You loan me money, I change my payout address to your RIC address. You get a 220 RIC payout every 2 hours (not exactly, sometimes its 1.4 hrs, sometimes its 2.2, but somewhere around there)
I mine to the address until you're paid back, at the end, I mine an extra 1-2 days (amount depends on how long we decide, terms are not set in stone)

So, in the end:
In the end you make an extra ~$280-300 USD in RIC (which you can easily sell for BTC if you want).

I can prove all my miner stats to you easily, I have trust on the forum. I'd also be willing to let you take control of the account *WHILE REPAYMENT IS IN PROGRESS*. The account will be returned to me at the end.

I know everyone wants collateral, which I am definitely not opposed to. But I'm not sure what you guys would want. Let me know.

As of writing this, I just received a 220 RIC payout and have around 600 unconfirmed.

Please also note, at the time of the loan, all RIC transferred out for the day will also be transferred to you. (For example, If we make a deal at like 11PM and I've already received like 2000 RIC for the day, they'd be transferred to you from my Mintpal account).

Thanks for lookin.

20  Economy / Lending / Selling Primecoin (XPM) Wallet | $280 profit opportunity. on: April 21, 2014, 03:28:23 AM
Not sure if this should go here... But I figure what the hell. Why not?

I'm selling a Primecoin wallet that gains $140/usd day in mining payouts from beeeer.org

Basically, I'm looking for $1000 via MG/WU and in exchange I'll give you the wallet. After the 'loan' is paid off, I will let the miners continue to run for 2 days, this should net you approximately $280 profit.

The reason I am doing this is to pay rent and my car insurance. I do not have time for the payments to accumulate.

I have trust on the forum and can have users vouch for me.

You can view my miner statistics here: http://beta.beeeeer.org/index.php?p=user&s=xpm&a=AXqCJxuaHPDhjQVCKZZZLKWsJrRZtym3F2

Any interested users should have a Primecoin wallet at least setup so I can send a TX from the above address to verify it is indeed mine.

I will also provide any personal details requested, name, phone, address, facebook, etc. Whatever you like basically.

tl;dr = $1000 loan for 7 days mining to repay loan, then 2 days 'free' mining to net you an extra $280 in profit.

Please reply here or send me a private message. And scammers.. Please.. I've been around. Just save us both some time and skip it.

Please also note: I will *not* accept a loan and have you ask me to just pay you in full at the end, I would feel much more comfortable with you taking daily payments. Also, I would *very* much prefer you do the WU/MG with your Credit/Debit card as an extra added layer of protection for you. Thanks
