1  Economy / Economics / Russian Dump of US Treasuries Fueling Bitcoin? on: July 18, 2018, 04:43:22 AM
Saw this today and wondered if the rebound could be linked to the dumping of at least half of US Treasuries bonds by Russia.  Hints are this will soon coincide with a massive dump by China in the next few days.  Seems like China-Russia is allied against the US economically and maybe people are pulling their money out.

4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin Faucets Advertisements on: August 01, 2014, 05:39:59 PM
PSA

Use caution when utilizing advertisements displayed on BTC faucet websites.  A growing trend in fraudulent activities is for individuals/organizations to place ads on these websites for goods or services in exchange for crypto-currencies.  An increasing number of victims do not receive these goods or services after submitting payment without the ability to recover their funds.  Operators of these websites have proven to be less than cooperative in removing these fraudulent advertisements.  Crypto-currency enthusiasts are often targeted in theft schemes in locations often frequented by this community.

Consumers are urged to use products and service providers in the geographical area of their respective nations having the lawful means to pursue legal action should a malicious transaction occur.  The public is urged to report all fraudulent activities to your local law enforcement.  All potential vendors should be vetted in accordance with established, proven, professional business standards.

With your help the community can reduce the amount of fraud in the community so that the positive value and effects of instituting crypto-currencies are emphasized.

8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / What stops a Federal Reserve crypto scheme of their own? on: June 05, 2014, 03:33:26 AM
Please discuss.  I mentioned it in another thread and felt compelled to raise a new topic.

Just a little heads up, folks.  They are not subject to FOIA like a government agency.  But they have all government agencies at their disposal.  So, why hasn't anyone pointed out the obvious.  The medium they choose can be theirs, BTC, alt, or Doge (for the love of dogs everywhere).  This is brewing as we speak.

10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Concealed Handgun Classess for Bitcoin Donations on: May 07, 2014, 06:27:37 AM
I just applied for my CHL Instructor certificate.  Would anyone in the DFW are be interested in taking a CHL class based on BTC donations only?  I have to practice with a few classes before I go mainstream and will consider taking BTC only as means of paying for the class once I've worked out the kinks.

Please provide some feedback.
11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Government Operated Exchange on: April 29, 2014, 05:03:50 AM
What country will start the first government operated exchange?  Would you trust it?  Can this kill crypto currencies?

I think it is a toss up between Germany and Japan.  Most likely Japan due to the "exposure" of recent legal proceedings.  Germany is most certainly more progressive or innovative in the European arena.

14  Economy / Scam Accusations / Craigslist Scam (Dallas) on: April 09, 2014, 11:06:19 PM
If you responded to the following advertisement on Craigslist for Bitcoin at a below market value price let me know.  I did and didn't receive any bitcoins.  However, I was able to get a refund.  I won't go in to how I did it unless you were victimized as well.  The information I have is sufficient to gain criminal prosecution should it be warranted.  Please share this with your colleagues.

The ad is as follows:

16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Undergraduate Paper Help on: March 31, 2014, 06:00:59 PM
Hello, all.  I am attempting to come up with ideas on writing an undergraduate capstone paper on Bitcoin.  The Bitcoin idea has been a fascination for some time and I feel it would be a good topic to explore on the network security side.  I'm having some difficulty in coming up with ideas and how to explore the security side of this subject.

What I have to come up with is an outline containing this:

Subject
Goal (high level summary of project, no more than 2)
Objectives (Specific concrete objectives with measurable deliverables)

This will be contained in 5 sections.
Summary
Review of Other Work
Rationale & Systems Analysis
Goals and Objectives (project deliverables)

I am approaching this way to broadly and would like some suggestions on how to narrow the scope.  Can someone with project management experience give me a hand?

Thanks for any input.
