Ok so just an idea that sounds like it would be fun and bring in lots o miners.. 0% fees, BUT when each block is solved you take 1/2 of the trans fees and have a lottery where one miner wins this. (all automated) That way even slow to midrange miners have a chance at a nice bonus payment. Would work like this = randomly pick 1 share submitted and pay the bonus. This way anyone contributing more shares would have a higher chance, BUT everyone would have a chance. Think it would be a very popular pool and have the added bonus of the 'casino' feel. Would make mining more interesting to me, for sure!

Free upgrade code to Digital Deluxe edition of Civ 5 (must have civ 5 base) Decent game and I have no idea what this adds. I found this code, says expires 3/31/11 or while supplies last. So don't want to sell it since it might not work, but I think it will (for first person to use) Figured someone could use it so If you can go for it! 7952C-JNWXK-WIY8B-KSZMB-V7C8P http://www.nvidia.com/object/civ5-bundle.htmlAlthough not required , If you want I'll gladly take a small donation! =p 1CaSM26TJ7uYQ4cpEUp7nMa3QjqkTd5VTs Enjoy!

Will since it's my theory that botnet will soon become self aware and create its own pools with millions of zombie pcs, my question is simple. Does the bitcoin system have anyway to prevent this?
And what happens when it overtakes everyone else % wise?
Really just curious, seems millions of machines (just cpus, I'm sure GPus will be targeted eventually) would easily surpass all current mining, and since there is lots of motivation for the botnet to sell instantly at any price massive amounts of coin.. well you get the idea.. thoughts?

Yes I know nvidia is terrible for mining, but its not so bad if you have free electricity , or need heat, etc. And there is tons of posts about people just mining on off time with nvidia sooooooo For those of you with Nvidia this is what I did to get a 450gts to 48 mhash, constant, with <1% cpu usage (other miners where much slower and used 100% of 1 cpu core) http://forum.bitcoin.org/?topic=3878.0Get gui Miner above, install, click file>new miner>CUDA Obviously fill in your pool details. for flags use -cuda and you want to also add -gpugrid (make sure this is number of cores on your card) and - gputhread (will need to mess with this, but don't use unless speeds suck) https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Mining_hardware_comparisonLink above this shows cores and speeds for many card, most all nvidia are wrong so make sure to know your number of cores. For GTS450 I used this for flags -cuda -gpugrid 192 -gputhread changes the hash rate when you mess around with it, but I think the Cuda miner will try to pick the fastest setting when starting up, so make sure to not have crap running like virus scans or moving your mouse, playing games or watching videos, because it may pick a shitty setting. Just sit there when you click start mining and wait to initialize. I also Oced mah card to 945 clock using, ran at 52c no problemo http://event.msi.com/vga/afterburner/download.htmIf this helped you please send some BTC mah way, if I get some I might even post some more detailed help! 1Dt3FiqrfxPKFvAmZkjRLd7KvgQRXRjEnQ
