1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / How does whitelisting work for NFT projects? on: April 12, 2022, 08:03:02 PM
Just curious about this since I've seen it thrown around a lot.

Why is whitelisting important for a NFT offering and why are people so desperate for it to the point that they are willing to pay money to get Whitelisted? What is it from the issuer's perspective that drives this necessity?

Thanks in advance!

2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / FUSE Network on: January 21, 2022, 08:02:28 PM
I recently came across this network from Beefy.finance as it is one of the chains listed on there.

Do you guys think that FUSE has some potential for the future? Seems very undervalued to me given that its market cap is still below $100M yet has integrations with Beefy, Sushiswap etc. which are some major DeFi players.

Disclaimer: I do own some $FUSE but are just looking for opinions whether I should hold this out through the bear market.
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Trust Token Stablecoins on: January 15, 2022, 10:39:44 PM
I just wanted to get the community's opinion on whether Trust Token based stablecoins are trustworthy?

Are they subject to the same problems as USDT and USDC, or are they marginally better in those regards?

I think that they are one of the only platforms to offer a AUD based stablecoin, which is definitely very attractive to us Aussies. Would like a bit of confirmation before I proceed with an investment though.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / [H] 0.0013 BTC [W] 0.018 ETH on: November 10, 2021, 07:40:58 PM
Looking for a quick deal - you cover ETH fees, I cover BTC fees.

Ends up being a bit better than market rate for you.

You go first, unless you have sufficient reputation in which case I will be happy to go first.

5  Economy / Collectibles / Anywhere to buy cheap silver? on: June 26, 2021, 08:37:24 PM
It seems like that physical silver premiums have absolutely skyrocketed.

APMEX is now selling their Buffalo rounds for $30/oz which is around $4 above spot per round. ASE's are even crazier at $37 or so everywhere I look.

1) Any particular reason for the rise in silver premiums?
2) Is there anywhere that you can still get physical silver for a price close to spot?

Thanks!
6  Economy / Gambling discussion / Blackjack card counting at live table games? on: December 01, 2020, 08:00:19 PM
Has anyone tried to come up with a program that counts cards at Evolution or other live gaming providers' tables?

Whilst I understand that they generally use a crapload of decks (8 for most games, I think) and have insanely bad deck penetration, isn't it theoretically feasible to still take advantage of certain variations in the count if you monitored enough tables with an automated program?

Surely Evolution has some sort of safeguard against this that I'm missing?  Huh
7  Economy / Gambling discussion / NitrogenSports forcing me to rollover my deposit once? on: February 01, 2020, 10:44:34 AM
I made a 0.4BTC deposit to NitrogenSports today, because I withdrew some funds from Deribit and had my Nitrogensports deposit address saved from a previous withdrawal. I didn't realise that adding a new address would result in a 3 day cooldown period before I could actually use it to withdraw, so I went ahead and withdrew to Nitrogen.

As a 'gesture' to pay for the tx fees associated with this transaction, I opened a 0.0001 BTC blackjack bet and surrendered. (somewhat irrelevant).

I received this message from support, alongside a message that my account was suspended after I requested withdrawal:

Quote
Hello 1912815,

We regret to inform that your latest withdrawal request was not authorized and the funds have been returned to your account's balance.

After carefully reviewing your account we noticed that you have not completed sufficient action since your last deposit.

We would like to remind you that Nitrogen Sports offers a gambling service and it is expected that any deposit made is done with the intention of providing action on our site. This is standard request in the industry therefore kindly complete a one-time rollover with your funds in our site.

If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Thank you,

Allen R.

The closest term I could find on their site was this, regarding bonuses:

Quote
Any funds added to your account via poker free rolls, contests and free bets carry a mandatory 2X rollover unless otherwise noted. In order to request a withdrawal of any winnings from promotions or bonuses, all players are required to have a deposit history of at least 0.005 BTC and provide significant action (one-time rollover on deposit funds).

However, clearly my deposit was not the result of a bonus or anything of that sort. So this does not apply to my situation whatsoever.

They also mention that this is industry standard. However, out of all the dice sites and crypto casinos that I've played at (bitsler, yolodice, primedice, stake, bustabit), they all allow you to withdraw without any rollover requirements.

This is predatory behaviour, imo, since players are forced into playing on the site and make potentially rash decisions as soon as they deposit.

I'm happy to pay whatever tx fees associated with my withdrawal (0.00005 BTC seems standard on other sites, and I've already willingly given that up), but I'm not happy to be forced into rolling my balance over once without any particular reason. I understand that this is not supposed to be used as a wallet service, but I've played here numerous times in the past (and lost a bunch, mind you) and it just seems like they're trying to force me into playing more.

I'm waiting for their support to respond. Hopefully this does get resolved.

EDIT: My userid is 1912815
8  Economy / Lending / Magneto's Lending Service | Interest from 0.08% per day | Collateral optional on: January 29, 2020, 07:55:40 PM
I'm offering loans of up to 2 BTC. No collateral loans can only be requested by those with sufficiently high reputation.

Some terms:

I reserve all rights to reject loan applications.

Collateralised loans
- I ONLY take liquid altcoins , preferably traded on Binance, as collateral. I may reject any altcoin collateral that I deem to be too risky in terms of future fluctuations.
- Collateral value must be 120% or more of loan value (principal + interest)
- I reserve the right but not the obligation to liquidate collateral when it falls below 105% of total loan value.
- Escrow is welcome at your cost.
- For larger loans, feel free to show me any quotes from other lenders and I'll try to beat it (assuming aforementioned collateral criterion are met).
- If you wish to keep the loan private, feel free to PM me the request or message me on telegram @xmagnetox1. I will, however, require proof of you being the forum member you claim to be.

*Interest rates*: 0.08% per day for loans above 0.5 BTC, 0.09% per day for loans from 0.1-0.5 BTC. Minimum interest is 0.001 BTC and you cover any transaction fees.

No collateral loans
-  You must apply on this thread, no applications on PM.
- Interest rates are negotiable
- I will only give you a loan if you have sufficient reputation, newbies, Jr. Members, etc. stay away.

For both types of loans, please use this table to apply:
Code:
[b]Loan Amount: [/b]
[b]Collateral (if any): [/b]
[b]Repayment Amount: [/b]
[b]Repayment Date: [/b]
[b]BTC Address:  [/b]

All loan repayments will go to: bc1qj0u35c8rea0ez007e60e4rf8jqz9nlgx6vslfw, unless I sign a message using one of my old addresses.

Thank you!
9  Economy / Exchanges / Leveraged trading question on: January 24, 2020, 02:13:25 AM
On Deribit (and I think Bitmex also, but I'm not entirely sure since I don't use them), there is a parameter to your position that states the liquidation price, i.e., when your equity falls below the maintenance margin, under which you're forced to liquidate your positions.

However, what I've found is that this price is only indicative of when liquidation STARTS to occur, and not when you're actually fully bankrupt and all your positions are liquidated.

Is there a way to calculate the price at which that occurs? Is liquidation a linear process or dynamic according to market conditions?
10  Other / Meta / User spamming links to dark web markets on: January 24, 2020, 01:37:01 AM
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=2744542;sa=showPosts

Seems like he bought a copper membership just to do this, he's spamming his links everywhere across the forum for the past hour.

Anyone considering visiting this site should know that
a) Products on there seem to be vastly illegal
b) There is no guarantee of the legitimacy of the hsite.
11  Economy / Gambling discussion / Any sportsbook that allows parlay from the same game? on: January 23, 2020, 07:24:38 AM
I'm wondering this because Nitrogen, which is where I usually play on, doesn't allow this. They only allow cross game parlays.

I'm not familiar with how the sportsbook world works in general since I'm just a casual player.

Is it industry standard to reject multi-bets from the same game (e.g. betting on ML as well as the spread, or ML as well as over/under)? Are there any crypto operators that allow you to do this?
12  Economy / Reputation / Surebets01 committing fraud on: January 07, 2020, 08:48:09 AM
User in question: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=2663136;sa=showPosts

He is packaging sports tips in a way that suggests he has insider knowledge about the outcomes of the games (which is illegal) and misleading others in order to con others into giving him free money, essentially.

He's saying that he will refund double the bets that lose while demanding that you pay him half of what you win. There is no risk involved for him whatsoever in this venture as he can simply run away (which he has) whenever someone has lost a bet.
13  Economy / Collectibles / Milkspotting on silver coins? on: October 19, 2019, 10:58:06 AM
I've got some serious milk spotting going on on some of the coins I've got. The most severely affected category of coins is probably the maple leaves (without surprises here).

I've tried rubbering but the new radial design of the maple leaves make it difficult to get rid of it completely. I'm also concerned that the abrasion from that will make the coin's surface appear inconsistent (I know it's bullion, but I've got some higher end collectible stuff that has milkspotting as well).

My question is, does anyone have recommendations for a chemical cleaner that is able to get rid of these spots, or would they only be rid with an eraser?

Cheers
14  Economy / Service Discussion / Bitskins alternatives? on: October 18, 2019, 10:12:05 PM
I'm looking to sell some CSGO skins for BTC, I was wondering what sites other than Bitskins would be the best right now?

What is even going with Bitskins? They were announcing that they were going to shut down and apparently new ownership has now taken over or something? Are they still safe to use?

Also, anyone had any experience with sites like Skinbay or Skinbaron?
15  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / How to reset portfolio history on Ledger Live? on: October 01, 2019, 11:40:15 PM
On Ledger Live there is a graph at the home page which essentially tracks the value of your portfolio over time held in your ledger.

While this is a very useful feature, I'm not sure how one would go about resetting these statistics and start from scratch. I couldn't find any answers online. Would you just have to wait a year (which is the maximum amount of time the graph tracks)?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
16  Economy / Speculation / Why is bitcoin dominance climbing in this bull market? on: June 26, 2019, 11:21:57 PM
I think that a lot of people had expected BTC dominance to go down as we saw the bull market unfold, because in the 2017 bull market we saw a huge dip in this index from 80+% pre-bull market to the sub-40%'s.

So, why is this trending in the opposite direction now? It pretty much went from 35% to 62% within a year and a half. Historical data and intuition would tell us that as euphoria enters the market, more people will toss their money away towards "penny-tokens".

Could it be attributed to institutional investors, the better fundamentals underlying BTC and the network, or a more mature market? Or is it something else?
17  Economy / Service Discussion / Localbitcoins now requires identification on: May 06, 2018, 08:07:11 AM
So we all knew that LBC was already going down the path of forced verification for advertisers, and they made the move that all advertisers will have to verify themselves before they can trade back in January.. And then later there was a warning for all people who had a high trade volume and "recommended" that they verify their identity. But I never expected them to actually restrict somewhat high volume traders so fast, since I was greeted with this message:

Quote
You need to verify your identity before you can continue trading. Proceed to verify your identity

I mean, you could still create new accounts and trade from them anonymously, but it's a tedious process to go through email and phone verification all the time. And a lot of offers won't be available to you because of the fact that you can't consistently trade up for a good reputation.

Time to move to a new p2p trading platform?
18  Economy / Services / Looking for custom portfolio on: November 19, 2017, 07:33:15 AM
Hi there everyone,

I'm a regular user of blockfolio/altpocket but i feel like the functionality is quite limited because i am unable to track my precious metals investment to be included in my portfolio. In altpocket's case, i can't even track fiat currencies let alone gold/silver.

I basically need something that can track the past performance of my portfolio, show gains and losses, reflect portfolio value in real time, basically everything that blockfolio does, except with support for a select few fiat currencies and gold/silver.

I don't know if i'm asking too much at this stage, but PM me with a quote if you can do this. My budget isn't going to be sky high. Spreadsheet/website, anything is fine. As long as it functions and works.
