1  Economy / Gambling discussion / What kind of poker player are you? on: May 16, 2019, 02:56:42 AM
I have noticed that there two kinds of persons in poker gambling (when it refers to profits)

1._ The hit and run ones
2._ The ones who uses the money earned on previous bets to hunt for a bigger reward

What's your kind?
2  Other / Politics & Society / Do we still believe in anything? on: May 10, 2019, 02:09:18 AM

Through History, we have believed in different stuff. The Sun. The Rain. The market. We already overcame Nietzsche, Palahniuk and Fukuyama. Nowadays we CARE about stuff. We worship immediacy. And religion is still a big part of the human experience but beyond that, do we care about anything else outside the reach of our fingertips?

Most people don´t even take a glimpse at the bigger issues. What about the water and the Earth? Is family still such a strong value? We don´t believe in society or politics either. What´s the next monolith we will kneel before in the future?  Huh

3  Economy / Gambling discussion / Oldschool BTC Site Help on: May 09, 2019, 05:15:40 AM
Years ago I played with BTC in a site that I don't remember... but the game consisted of an animation of a line that was going up and randomly stopped.

The goal was to click before it stopped and the longer you were in your money multiplied but if it stopped and you were in you lost everything.

Does anyone remember the name of the site? or know if there is any site that offers a game like this with btc or some altcoin?

Thanks  Wink
4  Economy / Gambling discussion / Would you bet on an insect fight? on: April 18, 2019, 04:25:50 AM
In my town there are ants that only appear once a year and it is common for children to capture one and start a fight against others ants.

San Juan Ants also known as Chicatanas

This made me think ...  What would happen if this took a step forward and stopped being just a children's game?

How would it be if you could bet?
How would the people see it , its just as crazy as a dog or a cock fights?
What do you think?

5  Economy / Gambling discussion / Whats your opinion on UFC fighert Ben Askren? on: April 14, 2019, 08:21:18 PM
In my opinion Ben is a top athlete and a great wrestler without a doubt, but after seeing his debut in UFC I do not know if I would bet in his favor. Also, his way of being and his humor are not much to my type... I confirm this by watching the UFC Seasonal Press Conference.

hahaha I loved how TheMacLife named the video

What I do like about Ben is that he is an enthusiast of cryptos.

6  Other / Ivory Tower / Blockchain technology for a fair distribution of energy on: April 09, 2019, 06:59:55 PM
Do you believe that merging new technologies such as blockchain with renewable energies can take us to the next level for a fair energy distribution?

8  Local / Esquina Libre / Refrigeradores Blockchain on: April 07, 2019, 05:18:58 PM

9  Other / Ivory Tower / How would you approach artistically to bitcoin? on: March 30, 2019, 06:01:02 PM
Every one of us loves bitcoin and what it represents. But if we take a look at art history the art is the reflex of the social, political and cultural events of a time. In our times bitcoin is one of those big movements that is making a big rupture in the way we conceived our society and in the way it operates. Just because bitcoin represents the democratization of a economic system its fully charged with artistic meaning. And knowing that art has served for consolidating social movements I think that using cryptos in a artistic way will help with it's acceptance and a adoption.

Since I discover bitcoin, the first thing that came to my mind was "I want to make music with this", then I decide to get involved with it!! For a couple of months I worked on a sonification process of the bitcoin network that was presented in a festival of music and new technologies in 2016.

So, if the bitcoin will make sound this is how I imagine it  Wink (try to listen to it in good speakers or headphones)

This is what I think and how I approach... but do you think that art is a good tool or a good way to help with the adoption? and how would you approach artistically to bitcoin or other alt?

10  Bitcoin / Project Development / BTCSND~ | Bitcoin Network Sonification Process on: March 30, 2019, 01:38:57 AM

I want to share a Sound Art Installation project named BTCSND~  that I designed in 2016 for the Twelfth Edition of the "International Festival of Music and New Technologies - Visiones Sonoras (Sound Visions)" in Mexico.

BTCSND~ is the translation of a digital economic model into a musical sound medium, it uses data flow of the bitcoin network, such as: transactions, price fluctuations, blocks info and other crypto data.  All this is used to generate a multichannel sound installation,  where the user gets immersed in a surround environment generated by the data flow.

It consists of codes that obtain and analyze the cryptocurrency data, then the data travels via a local network to a Pure Data patch were the data determines the acoustic, musical and spatial properties of a sound palette previously developed in the studio. The volatile price of bitcoin plays a fundamental role since it's conditions the possible tonal intervals of each transaction that is happening, generating an atmosphere with a mood depending on: a low  : ( , a high  : ) or a stability in the price :|

As a recommendation try to listen to the sample with headphones or in good speakers. Hope everyone likes it!

11  Local / Altcoins (criptomonedas alternativas) / Interesantes jugadas de Litecoin on: March 24, 2019, 08:29:11 PM

I Got the Mark of the Beast – And It Will Hold My Bitcoin
https://www.coindesk.com/i-got-the-mark-of-the-beast-and-itll-hold-my-bitcoin

I'm Turning My Hand Into a Bitcoin Wallet | CoinDesk
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ihdm87Vm1y4
