202  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Cgminer litecoin problems 7970 & 6870 on: November 08, 2012, 07:48:42 AM
I am using the code below and it doesn't use my 7970 and 6870,
I get a weird bug, where the cgminer opens, and it refuses to close,
I open up task manger, I click end task, and it does nothing.
I get extreme lag, and I have to restart the computer to fix the problem,
when I restart it, I try again, then again?

What am I doing wrong?
If I just mine with the 7970 alone its fine.
Though I used reaper, and it worked perfectly
for 7970 and 6870?

Mind & Probability Paradox
-------------------------

Can a game such as Satoshidice Bitcoin site, and can you influence the outcome?
The answer is obviously no. Well lets go through the states, and several
odd bending games and problems, it should apply to all equally right?

If someone were to hypothetically play a game where it is truly 50-50 Odds (red/black)
If you were to guess beforehand and say "The odds of 3 reds coming up now is 1/8?"
Is that statement true?

However lets say we proceed with the roll and two reds came up.
Would the third red be 1/8? with the series? Would as the game goes
on the odds of it keep hitting red decrease? Or would it always remain 50-50% from
that moment on?

Now lets say your faced with two options:
1) "You see 10 reds came up"
2) "Someone claims 10 red came up, but hes actually lying"
3) "You just print red 10 times down, and look at that 10 times.

Wouldn't the outcome for all these scenarios make absolutely no difference for the next roll?
Then if you guess like okay I guess three reds to come up, then the odds of it matching
your guess is 1/8 right? But after two has came up, it quickly becomes 50%?

It seems to conclude, that odds at that moment remain 50-50% and all past influences
make absolutely no difference? This should apply to all games in a similar matter right?
That works with odds?

Now since this is true and all past influences make no difference,
then how come in the three door problem, when the host presents
you with the choice of switching and/or staying with your original choice,
it influences the outcome?

When you switch you are presented with two doors left after he reveals a goat.
Now since past influences make absolutely no difference, and the above statement
should apply to all games, then it should be 50-50%?

Well no it isn't, its actually 66% chance of winning, if you switch, and 33% chance of losing
if you don't switch?

The paradoxical thing is if lets say you change the game, and make it that
the host does in fact not know where the car is, if he picks that on the
first round, sorry you lose the car. But if he picks the goat,
in this scenario the odds will be 50-50%, I tested this out myself.

It seems that knowing and not knowing can influence the game outcome,
and thus it seems that mind can influence odds,
but I thought this was fallacy and false? Isn't this a paradox?
Or just a optical illusion inside a illusion?

The host has to know where things are, if he didn't know, and lets say he revealed a car,
then it goes destroyed in this scenario it should remain 50-50

It seems mind and knowledge can influence the outcome of a game?
Or its just a illusion?

Thoughts?

211  Other / Off-topic / SATOSHI DICE SUGGESTIONS on: October 23, 2012, 05:28:58 AM
Two things I wish they would improve.

1) Group up 10 bets together, and send for every 10, cut the transaction fee by 1/10
(This makes smaller bets like 0.001 on a 50% or above choices, eat up less fees)
Instead of getting back 0.0005(fee eater) + win amount, you get back (0.001Xwin)-0.00005 for trans fee
This is the grouping of 10 people and there's one 0.0005 fee that's split among everyone.
2) Have a Address to send bitcoins to, a java application pops up, you can cutomize the odds
anywhere from its 64000X to 1X, so I can have like 99.4% win odds, or 78.34333 odds and things.
And In this application you can bet any amount, from 250 Bitcoins to 0.0000001 Bitcoins.
And do any strategy you want. Perfect for martingale bets, it would take a lot of bets from 0.0000001 bitcoins
of doubling to lose everything.

If speed is necessary, there is 3 bets nearly every second of the day. it could be sent for every 3 bets
that is sent to the site, etc.

Terms:You must include a 13.37% Odds choice on your site, multiplier you can calculate, this is in remembrance of my list of things, if you like the above, and wish to use anything I said

Below is an old post, though I will post on the progress,

And a +1 and things.

I notice these selling for $750ish.
I was looking for a trade + BTC.

Trade for: 7970+$450

They are going for around $300ish second hand.

I will consider all offers.
214  Economy / Service Discussion / BFL NO UPDATES OR REPLIES on: October 16, 2012, 07:09:56 AM
Hello, I am getting quite worried, as BFL hasn't replied or responded back for quite a long time.
They aren't letting me know, or updating my status at all.
I also sent several replies through the site. And I never got an email from them, and I am
expecting an email to say something on the lines of
*yes we will need $599 for the trade of two asic miners from 3 BFL units.*

As trading is declared on the site.

I have over $1900 with them, and quite worried about this.
I am expecting updates or something.
Its been since June 18, and now its October 16.

Its not like I am, bossing around or anything, I am being quite reasonable,
and sending once every 3-4 weeks saying through there site
any updates? and things.

I am just waiting for one email, about an update. But no response since June 18?
That's unreasonable Huh

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=89685.0
People already have order numbers, wheres mine?  Huh
I don't understand. I prepared for this since June, I should
be one of the earliest ones.

Hello, this is lightlord, I haven't gotten any confirmation yet
but I have said, That I want to delay my 3X832 Units for the ASIC about 5 months ago. Now since its only 3X832,
I saw that its 2X832 for one ASIC Miner.

Will you need $599, for another ASIC miner?
Haven't gotten an email yet. Will I get the 60 giga hash units?

Thanks

Date: Monday, June 18, 2012 4:29:35 AM

Hello Jody,

I have heard about this at

http://news.yahoo.com/butterfly-labs-announces-next-generation-asic-lineup-054626776.html
-BitForce SC Single: a standalone unit providing roughly 40 GH/s, priced at $1,299

And I have 3 more on the way which two values about the price of above.
How long into these get released? Can I be on the first to receive list?
Could I trade these 2 of these units for this, so i get this unit first?

And on your site you also offer full 100% trade value.
Can I trade my Current BFL unit I have, which I have 4 in total.
For two of these instead? I will pay the difference and the fee.

Best regards
lightlord

Terms:

The term is for 5 years. Term starts as soon as the unit arrives. Weekly payments will be given
out once the unit has fully arrived. I reserve the right that if butterfly lab claims of 1500 GH turns
out to be false, and the unit happens to be lower power then that to do a refund on everyone on
the list after section 0.9 occurs. Section 0.9: after I reconvert the cash back into
Bitcoins which is including after the fee of conversion back from cash to bitcoin and the bitcoin to
cash fee from an earlier transaction and including at the current bid market value of that exchange,
and any other fees at any time that occurred with the transfer, and conversion of your Bitcoins, also
I have the right to choose any exchange that accepts Bitcoins, and after these calculations you will
receive your Bitcoins within 60 days, each day after 60 days it will be considered as a loan, and after 60 days
Section 0.3 will take effect (End Of Section 0.9) I reserve the right at any time, to cancel
your order, and refund your Bitcoins back, including after I converted it to dollars, and after section 0.9
occurs. Section 0.7: Paydays are at 7,14,21,28 of every month that is considered pay days
(End Of Section 0.7). If in the result of a bitcoin client corruption, or the total loss of all Bitcoins saved
up to that payday, my Giga hash shares and any reserved Bitcoins will be used to fulfilling the missed
pay day as soon as I get enough Bitcoins from my shares into fulfilling your lost payments. Do note that there
will be no bonus pays for this result of corruption, or total bitcoin loss. Other then that Payments will be no latter
then 3 days past pay day, and for every day it is passed, section 0.3 bonus effect will occur. However if the
unit fails, and it has to be sent back to butterfly lab for repairs, there will be no payments and no bonus payments,
until the return of the unit and if its repairs has been successful; payments will then resume as usual, and given on the
next pay day as stated in section 0.7. In the unlikely event the facility burns down, and a return isn’t possible
then section 0.8 will take effect. Section 0.8: all BTC that has been made up to that day, will be given to
you, and there will be no more future payments (End of section 0.8). Do note that this is millions to one.
If butterfly labs decide to pull out a scam, and the unit never gets sent, or butterfly lab defaults, there will be no more future
payments. However if a lawsuit is successful, and if conducted, and if I do receive a full refund, the money will be refunded
as either cash or bitcoin to everyone on the list once I receive the lawsuit money, do note that the distribution
of the money may take up to one month for sorting and things and also do note that all fees, and lawsuit fees,
including any other to get any refund on this unit will be deducted from the amount you will receive. I may at
any time choose Section 0.9 to occur. If you wish to have it in bitcoin then section 0.9 will occur.
On the unlikely event my death does occur and assuming that I have received the unit; payments will be canceled,
and there will be no more future payments however the raffle will be conducted by Brandon Mccormick, and rules for
it are stated Section 1.4:. If in the unlikely event a mental, or some other problem makes me unable to perform
the tasks above and assuming that I have received the unit Section 1.4 will happen. Section 1.4: The ASIC unit
will be raffled off (Time frame may take up to 3 months, for the sorting, and other reasons) the higher the shares, the
more likely the odds of you winning. So if you have 5/1500, there is that odds you will receive the unit,
my shares of $10,000 is what you should consider is my part in the raffle, my share is the remaining Giga
hashes that are left over after all payment has been made will be considered my share, and depending on
which deals have been bought, in the end that will determine how many remaining Giga hashes there are left.
The remaining Giga hashes are my shares, and those will be counted towards the draw and if I do win, the
prize will be handed over to my friend Brandon Mccormick. End of section 1.4. Section 1.1: I have a right to
a vacation, and may not have an access to a computer, and thus may want a break. I may take upwards
to 3 weeks off at any time within 6 months; these are called vacation breaks, or breaks, and during these times
I have the right to delay the payment until vacation breaks or breaks are up, the vacation break or break will end
as soon as you receive your payment, and paydays will resume. If i use up my 21 days that I declared vacation break or break
within a 6 month period then section 0.3 and its bonus payment will take effect on any vacation break or breaks additional I declare
until a reset occurs. I may split my vacation break or break into how many small blocks I wish, such as Example 1.5: I may want
4 days on this month, 2 days on that month, and I will have 15 remaining days of breakable days left (End of example 1.5),
this does not include the 3 days past pay day, but rather count if I declare it to be a vacation break or break. Do note that If I
am down to lets say 10 vacation days or break days I have left, after 6 months from the day I declared vacation break or break, it will reset back
to 21 days. If the Unit does get stolen, or a freak accident does occur, and/or act of GOD, Thunders, circuit frying, and
butterfly doesn't accept it back for a return, then section 0.8 will take effect. Section 0.3: If bonus payment
takes effect then Payments of 5% daily is considered bonus amounts, and you will receive this on the initial amount
you sent me during your purchase towards shares of this product, there will be no compound interest. (End of Section 0.3)

Hello I have a few questions here.

I do know that in majority of games it comes to the GPU more then the CPU.
On http://www.cpubenchmark.net/high_end_cpus.html

The AMD A10-5800K APU Scores: 7,873
And Intel Core i5-3570K @ 3.40GHz Scores: 7,135 .
Though several sites show the AMD processor to be weaker then the i3 3220
http://www.anandtech.com/show/6347/amd-a10-5800k-a8-5600k-review-trinity-on-the-desktop-part-2/6

If I were to choose between.

1) 7870+Intel i5-3570K

2) 7970+AMD A10-5800K

Let me know what would be a better option, his budget is $1200,
He is getting pre-build+OS installation + shipment costs.
so $1100 would be about max, as everything would add up to $1200 about.
