Competition rules


The competition

• Draft your crypto portfolio on Totle and select the crypto assets you believe will perform the best
• Once you've allocation of assets in your portfolio have been set, you can't change them for the duration of the competition
• Each registered account can have between 1 and 5 portfolios entered in the competition

How to enter

• Competitors must have completed Totle account registration before they can submit for the Totle Portfolio Tournament competition
• Registration for accounts will be open at all times after October 31st, 12:00:01am
• Submissions for the competition will only be accepted between 10/31/17, 12:00:01am, and ends 11/5/17 11:59:59pm
• The weekly competition will run from 11/6/2017 12:00:00am to 11/11/2017 11:59:59pm
• Registration for Totle Portfolio Tournament will be synonymous with registration for Totle and vice versa

The Prizes


Daily competitions

• Daily winners will be judged on the percentage change between 12:00:16am and 11:59:59pm of that day
• Daily winners will be notified within 24 hours of the end of the day they win
• The three highest percentage changes will receive prizes
• A specific portfolio can only win once per day
• Multiple portfolios belonging to the same person may win multiple prizes, if they meet all other necessary criteria
• Highest percentage change prize is $100 USD in ethereum.
• Second-highest percentage change prize is $75 USD in ethereum.
• Third-highest percentage change prize is $50 USD in ethereum.

Weekly competitions

• Weekly winners will be judged on the percentage change between 11/6/2017 12:00:00am to 11/11/2017 11:59:59pm.
• Weekly winners will be contacted within 48 hours of the end of the competition.
• The three highest percentage changes will receive prizes.
• A specific portfolio can only win once.
• Multiple portfolios belonging to the same person may win multiple prizes, if they meet all other necessary criteria
• Highest percentage change prize is $500 USD in ethereum.
• Second-highest percentage change prize is $250 USD in ethereum.
• Third-highest percentage change prize is $100 USD in ethereum.

For both daily and weekly competitions

• Competitors must have a valid Ethereum account to receive rewards of any kind.
• Ethereum accounts will be verified as valid and complete before any prizes are sent, and accounts with invalid ethereum addresses will not receive their prize.
• Daily payouts with be in ethereum, and calculated for their USD equivalency at 12:00:16am at the end of every 24 hour block after the start of the competition.
• Weekly payout will be in ethereum, and calculated for the USD equivalency at 12:00:16am on 11/12 12:00:16am.
• Prizes will be deposited directly to the winning account’s registered ethereum address when winners are calculated.

General

• All listed times / dates are in EST
• No real money will be invested as part of this competition

You still have time to abandon BTC and put your wealth on more advanced cryptos. The waves are getting weaker and weaker while the market is slowly eating itself.

Adding new wealth to the bitcoin ecosystem, rewards miners for wasting energy without giving anything useful to the network. It's no secret that adding more wealth to the bitcoin ecosystem, only fuels this idiotic arms race of bitcoin mining.
Bitcoin is strongly impractical because of it's immature use of resources and it's inability to support stability. You have to be religious about bitcoin while the world of finance is a new place to you, if you can't see the importance of these impracticalities.
The Winklevoss twins may be great rowers, and Draper may be a good friend to Jurvetson, but their judgement about bitcoin is childish at best.

The future is not in bitcoin, but in the general idea of open sourced monetary systems. There needs to be a lot more advancements before cryptocurrencies would be practical on a larger scale. The current phase of development is in it's end. Right now would be the right time to jump off this train and jump onto something newer and better, that has solved some problems that plague bitcoin.
Don't ask me on what crypto to buy, because I don't want this thread to become a trollfest. Do your own research while keeping the flaws of bitcoin in mind.

Don't get caught on a sinking ship, just because you're emotionally attached to your investment. It's a common flaw for novice investors to become emotionally attached to the source of their first winnings.

Here's the idea:
Bitcoin was a hot subject in the mass media in 2013. Now the subject is old and there isn't much more eye catching to write about. People outside this forum don't really care about new merchant adaption, and that is the reason why news like that won't cause the price to rise. What people want to read is about innovation and new heart braking stories about janitors becoming millionaires. These are the stories that attract readers, and stories that bring new speculators to the game.
So, with this reasoning, I find that it would be best for the cryptocurrency market in general, to start promoting a new cryptocurrency model. It would get cryptocurrency some fresh attention, meaning new investors may join. If we offer a new cryptocurrency, that would solve the problems of extremely wasteful mining and volatility issues that stopped bitcoin from being a practical financial tool.

I understand that some of you have strong feelings for bitcoin. I understand that it brought you easy riches and it feels great to be part of something new. But, bitcoin wouldn't mind if you get past her and move forward. Bitcoin will always be remembered in history as the first that started all of this.
So, suck it up and stop being crybabies about your beloved bitcoin. Let's keep the subject fresh and hot, and let's keep our net worths rising.
