2  Local / India / What Bank Account on: January 09, 2016, 06:27:26 PM
I have been using HDFC for my trading requirements, and the only downside of them was a 30 minute cooling period before i could transfer money out. But now they have a restriction of 10k rupees by IMPS for 24 hours, and 25k for 48 hours and then no limit. So i was wondering which is the best bank account for bitcoin trading in India.

The parameters would be zero cooling time, no limit on 1st transaction, no limit on adding beneficiaries, no limit on transactions using MMID and mobile number, and preferably no limit on daily transaction volume as well, as again HDFC limits to 10 lac in a day. help would be highly appreciated.

4  Local / India / Lack of payment processing provider for Indian merchants on: July 12, 2015, 05:23:20 PM
The one thing we lack in India is merchants accepting bitcoins as a payment option.  I have a relative who owns a store in a mall and i was talking to him about accepting bitcoin as a payment option. Since, i had not explored this space much, 2 names came to mind, namely bitpay and unocoin and i suggested him to look into it, and came home. While doing my research, i found out that bitpay will not remit funds to an indian bank account and unocoin seems to be only supporting online merchants and not offline ones. Yes, he can accept bitcoins and sell them on his own, but thats not going to be seamless.

The other argument is he can keep the bitcoins himself and use one of the many apps, which act a a POS, but trying to sell that to someone who has not used bitcoins and heard only bad things about it, is going to be really difficult.

So, the point of this topic is, is there any solution out there which any one is aware of?

6  Local / India / BTCXIndia Shutting Operation on: May 08, 2015, 02:30:23 PM
Just received this from BTCXIndia. What the hell is happening.

Quote
Dear Customer,

We regret to inform you that BTCXIndia is closing down it's bitcoin trading platform as of 20th of May 2015.

We have today been informed by our bank that they will no longer serve bitcoin businesses. We have investigated the possibility to operate through other banks, but it seems this is a general policy in India as of today.

Without a bank account, we can no longer operate as a business and we are thus forced to close operations.

BTCXIndia launched in May 2014 with the aim to offer a regulatory compliant trading platform, and have since served customers without any issues. We have been in close contact with banks and authorities to ensure we are as legally compliant as possible in a new industry, and today's news comes as a big shock to us all.

Business will conduct as normal until 20th of May, and we urge customers to withdraw all funds before this date. BTCXIndia apologises for bringing you these news, but the decision has been made is outside of our control.

Once the regulatory situation has become clear in India, we hope to once again open for trading. Until then, we would like to thank you for your business and support.

Sincerely,
BTCXIndia

9  Local / Marketplace (India) / SALE: Selling 3 Used Antminer S1 .25 BTC/8750 INR each on: July 31, 2014, 06:03:36 AM
Hi,
Been using 3 Antminer S1 since March, April and May respectively. Want to sell all of them. 180 Gh/s clock speed over clockable and tested to 393.75 MHZ stable operation and 199 Gh/s avg. speed. with less than 1 % HW on 2 and about 1.2% HW on 1. They all are just coming out of warranty. The control board on all 3 of them had gotten spoilt. Received brand new control boards yesterday and all of them are back up to spec which i am selling. Sale price is .25 BTC or INR 8750 which ever you prefer per unit. Will ship free of cost anywhere in India. Personal inspection also available. Miner located in Mumbai. Can ship same day as well. Price not negotiable.

Reason for selling is that i am upgrading to S3's and dont have additional power capability at home.

Edit: All 3 miners up to spec. Will Post screenshot of the hashing page in some time.

10  Bitcoin / Mining support / Antminer S1 not hashing on: July 04, 2014, 09:48:53 AM
hi guys need a little help. i have been using my antminer s1 since march. however, last night after a restart the miner just wouldnt start hashing. on closer inspection i have found that on the board there are a green and red light that come on once you start the miner. after 10 sec there is a light behind the ehternet port that comes on. it is this light that is not coming on. sometimes, after restarting the yellow and green light on the ethernet port work, sometimes they dont work. but the light behind the ehternet port has not been switching on at all. i have restarted more than 10 times, done a hard reset, plugged out all the cables and inserted them again, cleaned out any dust that may have settled. but this light does not seem to turn on. the green light on both the hashing boards are not on as well.

when i use my browser to log in to the miner, on the miner status page, i can see that it is getting getworks and connecting to all the 3 pools, getting the difficulty from the pool as well. but the hash rate is 0.

any help would be appreciated.

thanks.
11  Local / Mining (India) / P2Pool Bitcoin Node on: June 04, 2014, 08:44:34 AM
I am based out of Mumbai and run a P2Pool Node at home for my own mining needs. I am connected to the internet over cable internet and my ping rate to my service provider is 1 ms, <20ms to other providers in Mumbai and <40ms to the other 3 metros in India. fees to the developer is set at 1%. i am not sure if this interests anybody, but if anyone is looking at connecting through my node or if there is an interest, i wouldnt mind sharing the details. i do shut down all systems at home every 2-3 days for an hour, apart from that i generally dont have downtime.
