1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Whoa! Do you think Electroneum centralized mobile miner a step too far? on: September 12, 2017, 06:57:26 PM

After much debate in the last week between if Electroneum could pull off producing the first safe, sucessful coin to be mined on mobile phones, their dev just posted this today.

As for the mobile mining, do you have dater in regards to sustainability? Could it destroy the phone over time? Or is the load the phone has to cope with reasonable?

The mobile app is centralized and runs off a twin algorithm that emits coins from the blockchain at approximately the same rate as the full miners based on a CPU benchmark of the phone. This allows the phone to run without getting hot and without using tons of power and bandwidth that previous attempts at phone mining have needed. But remember, they are not bringing blockchain utility, they are bringing a different utility - they are bringing on users at a ridiculously low CPA, and allowing Electroneum to have viral growth.

We’ve combined a decentralized blockchain with a centralized viral marketing app, that encourages the adoption and accumulation of cryptocurrency through “gamifying” the experience. We call it the Mobile Mining Experience. Our blockchain emits coins to our mobile app users for bring a different utility to the blockchain. Electroneum full miners earn the most coins and that runs on Windows, Linux and Mac computers. They bring the utility of blockchain administration and are rewarded with Electroneum coins. The mobile miners bring the utility of viral marketing to Electroneum and are awarded with a number (smaller) of Electroneum coins for doing so. It's done in a way that encourages app usage. We've essentially gamified the mining experience, making it appeal to mobile computer gamers (there are over 2 billion of them!).

I myself dont see much of a problem with them having a central processor. Iota brought returns in the thousands of percents and they have a central part called the "coordinator" they use as well.

The first response was,

We know electroeum needs to be accessible to people mining on mobile phones. We all know the result so far, its horrible. They have figured out a way to do this by having a specialized algo and a processor. The people mining with their computers  cpu on the main algo will be powering the blockchain. This means it is still decentrailzed.

Some people may complain that it has a centralized componet to the mobile miners, but it doesnt bother me. Im here with what I see as cryptos first chance to really be taken to the masses. We see they have the tech innovation necessary to come thru on their claims to take mining a cryptocurrency to 2 billion users of mobile devices.

It also cant be cloned as easily, or the innovation stolen with it needing a central processor as well.

They are powerhouse marketers, and now that these guys have added gaming to it as well, they will easily penetrate the market with this.

You can say its not decentralized enough for you, but I think someone would be hard pressed to say this is going to lose you money buying in at $.0067.

With the app downloads reaching just 5 million users, which is low in that industry, it would have far above the amount of users as Bitcoin. This you bought for $.0067 and Bitcoin is valued at $4000++. There will be many LEVELS of those buying and selling as the price establishes itself, which call me crazy, but with:

A. An innovativation in cryptocurrency by being first to sucessfully take effectiive mining mobile.

B. Have the product finished at the time of crowdsale

C. Have top of the line, ultra rich, real world marketers behind it.

these things make it pretty hard NOT to go up.

Ive seen much, much more, done with way, way less here.

Ladies and gentleman, I am very, very bullish on this after learning about it in the last few weeks. I agree with blackwidow on this. What do you think? Have they gone too far to produce a mobile miner that wont ruin your phone?

2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / [UPDATE] HOLY WHOA!! IOTA is NOT Joking...In case you missed it on: May 13, 2016, 11:04:16 PM
If you didn’t get in yet, you simply got lucky, cause it still being sold pre-launch

GUI

I presume everyone knows the basic story of GUI by now, we hired 3 professionals with incredible portfolios; 1 disappeared before we even got to working, 1 team (creativedash) lost their developer in the middle of the job, then refused to honor the full agreement and acted the most unprofessional I have ever seen, 1 dev who had worked for several major companies like Motorola, Four Seasons hotels etc. literally had am mental breakdown and threatened us with all sorts of insane shit if we didn't just let him take the money "because my life is hard" after lying chronically for weeks about working, when in reality he wasn't. I had to threaten him with legal action to get him to refund the money. Then we started using Wesley, our previous collaborator from Nxt, what we did not know was that due to personal issues in his life, he was way, way slower than we had ever anticipated and he went weeks above his own estimate. BUT it's still being worked on and will be done at 0.9.4 launch. By now we also got iOS and Android client due to our great community member Adrian. So re: GUI, no problems

New website

We have hired a really great team (finally a reliable one) that is making a brand new website for us which will visually show the IOTA ecosystem in the Internet-of-Things and give a "woah" factor for everyone new to the project. It will be launched right before launch of IOTA.

State of IOTA

IOTA development is going swimmingly, we had to do a fuckton of analysis which required a lot of computational power. The community came together and lent their idle cores (this is actually what IOTA was made for, distributed shared computing, so poetically beautiful) and we used AWS for the rest. This process is soon done, and once it is 0.9.4 will be done.
Also please do not forget that IOTA has been in testing and optimization since January, what we have now is several fold better than what we had in January, there has been no break in progress whatsoever. Not only that, but we also have another great community member - Tomer Krisi - who is developing the C# client so that we'll have both Java and C# around launch. Next up is C and Rust.

First Without a Blockchain, Released with IOS, Android, and Desktop wallet!

I can't remember a single project that is so well managed and plain kickass as IOTA is. Can someone tell me if a single unique project (not copy paste) in Crypto has launched with both desktop, Android and IOS wallet? For the life of me I can't think of one. This will be HUGE friends. Don't sell your IOTA before launch, I fully expect $50 million+ market cap at launch, and $100 million in short succession.

EASY $10,000,000,000 MarketCap?

If it really gets adopted the way it could, even 10 billion is low number.
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / DAO? What about this? on: May 05, 2016, 11:38:46 PM
Definition

The DAO consists of the sum of those holding the DAO’s representative tokens.

Values

We, as a DAO, ascribe to the following values:
Transparency
Democracy
Decentralization
Voluntary participation
Non-exclusion
Privacy and the right to anonymity
Non-aggression

Goals

To blaze a new path in business organization for the betterment of its members, existing simultaneously nowhere and everywhere and operating solely with the steadfast iron will of immutable code. The goal of The DAO is to diligently use the ETH it controls to support projects that will:
Provide a return on investment or benefit to the DAO and its members.
Benefit the decentralized ecosystem as a whole.

Conduct

We as a DAO, both as a whole and as individual members, will adhere to the following code of conduct:
We will not seek profits through means contradictory to our stated values or the categorical imperative.
We shall respect free speech and encourage all opinions to be both voiced and heard freely, without persecution.
We will strive toward decentralization and autonomy whenever and wherever it is reasonably possible and beneficial.

GPU Coin

- Great built in escrow idea. Love it!
- Dev willing to put some of premine in escrow and burn the rest. Leaving it up to the community
- Fair Launch
- Honest Dev
- It's not bullshit. The idea will actually work

This is a really cool idea. Still under the radar. You can get a good entry point here still.
not gonna chage the world or anything but when it people find out it's does something those holding will see decent ROI like 5x to 10x.

Iota

Don't let the 20x gains before it even launched scare you away. it will still rise in value. By the end of the year I will have a marketcap in the hundreds of millions. The only reason it is not already valued at thousands the ICO price is because many are worried it's too innovative and the Devs have gone to far. It doesn't even have a blockchain. Folks, it has the POSSIBILTY to overtake Bitcoin in valuation. Not saying it has to kill Bitcoin. It is for the IoT market. The testing is going very well, so it looks like fears of a failure are shrinking, so expect the price to expand sooner rather than later.
It brings many firsts to crypto.

Many think they missed the train. Nope. They will achieve mass adoption. There will be many trains. Each departure the ticket price will be adding a zero. So check it out!

I make a lot of money here. Although I have no job. I do this stuff 24/7. I'm not rich but I'm comfy and it pays the bills. I see some of you struggle and lose BTC a lot.

I charge .3 BTC a month for advice. These are  freebies Wink

5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Bitteaser - BTSR - Crowdsale over very soon!!! on: April 30, 2016, 01:00:23 PM
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1181557.80

Read it. Buy it. Don't say I didn't warn you. Or you didn't hear about it.

We are talking about a BILLION dollar industry, and they are already having success before the crowdsale is even over.

Just wanted to make sure you all knew because they posted it in a different section of the forum.

The ROI from this will rival Ether, Iota, etc. IMO. Which is usually correct.

Forbes has already done an article on them.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Crowdsale for BTSR to end! Everyone in? Cryptohunter? Don't want to hear crying! on: April 30, 2016, 11:06:33 AM
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1181557.80

Don't say I didn't warn you!

I make a ton of BTC around here.

Call this one a freebee. Not to be confused with some of the smaller coins I like to mine for a hobby.

This one has already been written up in Forbes, and is about to show us some of the best ROI since Iota!!!
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / UPDATE!! Legendary Escrow SeabastianJu to hold entire premine for GPU community on: April 27, 2016, 11:09:45 PM
This dev is serious
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / How much does the GPU Coin Dev sending the entire premine to escrow do ? on: April 27, 2016, 02:24:20 AM

Crosspost form:https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1451202.

I can work with some sort of terms somewhere along those lines. What do other people think here ? its been pretty quiet on the forums today.

What if 5% every 2 months is released, as long as the previous months coins that were released were used as promised.

So the escrow will:

1.  Check and see that the coins were used as planned

2.  Check and make sure that 60 days have passed since the last release of 5%

I can work with some sort of terms somewhere along those lines. What do other people think here ? its been pretty quiet on the forums today.

All I know is I can remember a time when the dev agrees to send the premine to escrow

I'm watching this one

9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Will Iota reach Billion Marketcap? That's $1 per token on: March 29, 2016, 11:56:39 PM
Before Iota even launched it was:

Added to Microsoft Azzure

Received a grant

Was written about in Forbes

Reached a value of 30 TIMES it's ICO

The list goes on. Is this a coin that will reach a Billion Marketcap? If it does, that would mean those that bought at current levels would STILL make 80 times their money!!!

10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Will Iota reach 10,000 satoshi before lauch? on: March 21, 2016, 02:59:08 AM
The last trades put them at 3300 satoshi.

This is quite an impressive increase from the 130 sat ICO price!!
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Iota looks to hire two new devs due to developer hospitalization on: March 04, 2016, 04:06:13 AM
I love how the Iota story is unfolding. It might be giving Iotas leader a headache, but it has it all.

Money, oh yes, money. They are all getting richer by the day. Talk about gains. Forget about Ethereum for a moment. The altcoin scene is back.

According to the Iota Speculation Thread  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1360660.320
Iotas leader plans to hire two new developers tomorrow to replace one of their devs. Keep in mind, the platform is already built, and these devs were tasked with only the UI. The head developer, crypto legend Come-from-Beyond, has been finished for months.

Many have taken this unexpected delay and have been buying Iota pre-exchange. Many feel the 2000% profits it has returned so far are just the tip of the iceberg. With a marketcap in the 100s of millions expected, indeed it could rise 20x again.

At the same time there is no lack of drama, as the lead developer continues to get hammered by impatient investors that are literally pissed there is a holdup, 20x gains or not. It's insane.

Nothing is missing from this story so far, the sex scandal can't be far away.

12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Will Iota partnering with Microsoft put it in the Top Five on CMC? on: March 01, 2016, 01:46:20 PM
Ethereum and Factom both are one of the very few that Microsoft had join Azure along with Iota.

Will Iota reach a market cap like they did.

Btw, does anyone know who the other coin is that Microsoft added as a partner?
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / I'm selling half of my CN coins, can someone tell me if this new thread is true? on: September 23, 2014, 07:51:46 AM
I just found this new thread.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=793310.new#new

I'm not a real tech type guy.

Can someone please tell me if this is for real? Some of it could be written in chinese and I wouldn't know the difference. But is sounds like a good option.

Please explain if you know how it all works.

Thanks guys!

14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Is ANY coin even Attempting Mass Adoption, Seriously!!!! on: April 05, 2014, 10:58:15 PM
Obviously you can see I am new around here. I have heard about Dogecoin on CNN, Bitcoin is always in the news. What about all the other coins? I am sure all the coins want the general public to learn about them. Can anyone tell me a coin that is marketing itself to the general public in any meaningful way? One that has a real plan? I am really surprised I am asking this question!!! Shocked
