1  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / New 2018 asic miners 28TH maybe soon on: April 26, 2018, 10:11:06 PM
Update: Apr 26, 2018 I know something was said back in Sep 2017 it seems it might be coming soon with 12 nm chips.

https://verifiedtopics.com/advanced-miners-announces-the-release-of-its-ico-with-asic-on-a-12nm-chip/
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-arEzq9GoWU

kind of nice if this is true buying one of these bad boys at a S9 price with the same power usages as a S9 from Japan, which make things even more interesting being japan is a free nation and that will matter a lot over china .

To me this will force china to be accountable for there mess lower prices etc .. if this is true. and the main mining will no longer be china based .

2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / US Tech Company Intel Files Patent To crypto mining Energy Use on: March 30, 2018, 10:11:24 PM
https://cointelegraph.com/news/us-tech-company-intel-files-patent-to-reduce-bitcoin-mining-energy-use#utm_source=Newsletter1&utm_medium=Email

US technology company Intel has filed a patent for a Bitcoin (BTC) mining hardware accelerator that would reduce the amount of electricity used in crypto mining by “reducing the space utilized and power consumed by Bitcoin mining hardware,” according to a US Patent and Trademark Office patent application released yesterday, March 29.

The patent, originally filed on Sept. 23 of last year, seeks to solve the “challenge for miners” of “search[ing] through the entire nonce space in a brute force manner while minimizing energy consumption per hash and maximizing performance per watt.”

According to Intel, this can be done by “optimizing the critical paths in the computation intensive message digest and scheduler datapaths,” resulting in “extra time” that can “reduce switching capacitance or scale the supply voltage” to create a “35% combinational power improvement in the message digest logic.”

The mining of Bitcoin, which Intel refers to as the “most popular type of (e.g., unit of) digital currency used in the digital currency eco-system,” needs large amounts of electricity to solve algorithms to mine for the coin. Bitcoin mining energy has been called by some as as an “environmental disaster,” while the other side argues that the possibility of using leftover electricity and renewable energy makes mining a “non-issue” for the environment.

The patent application writes that “because of the large amount of power utilized, and the relatively high cost of that power, mining Bitcoins can be a very costly endeavor. In some embodiments, the cost to mine a single Bitcoin may exceed the value of the mined Bitcoin.”

This negative mining cost ratio, which occurs temporarily during market dips, was pointed out by Fundstrat’s Tom Lee in a report earlier this month.

Intel’s patent application notes that it refers to ASIC implementations for “convenience,” although their system could apply to “any other logic device [...] including, but not limited to Processors, SoCs, and FPGA platforms.”

This patent application is not Intel’s first foray into the crypto sphere. In May of last year, Intel partnered with healthcare transaction service provider and software development firm PokitDok in order to utilize Blockchain technology in the healthcare industry.

In September 2017, Intel announced a collaboration with Chinese media and technology firm Tencent for working on an Internet of Things (IoT) Blockchain solution, and in October, Intel partnered with virtual currency hardware startup firm Ledger in order to use their Blockchain platform for storing crypto holdings.

4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / DAG file on 3 GB card Limit hit it seems . on: March 02, 2018, 11:06:57 AM
It seems the Dag file hit 3 GB, i keep getting out of memory on my 1060 3 GB mining ETH/ETC.

I guess this Month is it instead of next month ....Sad

https://investoon.com/tools/dag_size

At this rate that could mean 4 GB cards won't be usable for ETH/ETC mining in May/June instead of SEP 2018 .

You can be hacked

We represent a hacker group that focuses on hacking of crypto-currency wallets and exchanges. We know that you keep your coins on these exchanges.
We got the database of users and passwords of the largest exchanges in our hands, but to get into the account we need to bypass two factor verification, collect private keys from your PCs, brute force mnemonic words. That will cost us some time.
We give you the opportunity to exclude you from the base by reward us and we will remove you and we will not use your data.

The amount we require is 0.01BTC

After payment send us a letter on (I REMOVED THE EMAIL) and we will exclude you from the database.

11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Server PSU and GPU mining tip on: October 18, 2017, 05:34:52 PM
if you would rather use a server PSU to power those GPU rigs .. I discovered one way I'm sure others know of it..

all you need is the breakout board that matches the PSU you want to use and a few cables and a DC 12V 160W 24Pin Pico ATX Switch PSU,

i would go with a 150 watt or better...Pico ATX Switch PSU

for the CPU EPS plug on the mother board from the server PSU using a PCIe cable you can use a pcei 6 pin cable from PSU to the CPU EPS plug with the below converter ,this takes a lot of stress off the Pico ATX Switch psu so it only powers the Mother board and SSD the CPU is powered from the Server PSU with a true 12 V constant. link below.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01EEOW3CA/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

DC 12V 160W 24Pin Pico ATX Switch PSU..
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B075DXW5T9/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

or you can buy this one it's pretty nice , i was supersized at the quality of it for the price, just came to day I''m building my 5th in home GPU rig.. that's probably gonna be my limit with GPU rigs..

6pin input DC 12V 250W 24pin Pico ATX Switch PSU Car Auto Mini ITX power module

https://www.ebay.com/itm/6pin-input-DC-12V-250W-24pin-Pico-ATX-Switch-PSU-Car-Auto-Mini-ITX-power-module/222612804598?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649

you can make you own PCIe to barrel plug to power DC 12V 160W 24Pin Pico ATX Switch PSU, this gives you some idea what to use ...... i bought cables at one time ten with out the barrel plugs for 10 bucks an a 10 pack of barrel plugs for less then 7.99 on ebay and was able to make ten and save ...

just a tip or two to help out and save you some cash for the more important things for that rig like cards ..you won't need a ATX PSU to power the Mother board unless you like it that way. i didn't so i did some reading an found out how to do it with a  sever psu that is a safer and better way to me and save a lot of cash on psu power for that rig.

The links in this post are general links to give some idea,as to what you need ...

I bet that bad boy is gonna cost close to 10k and never reach ROI .....the good point is

it's by  Ehsminer, a France-based company in the free world,we need more of that to drive down the costs of miners from China and hope those company's in the free world stay legit .

we all remember about two years ago the rush of gear and Price drops and must of it was a Scam or turned into one later on .
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / 7nm ASICs an 7nm chips maybe next year some time . on: September 13, 2017, 05:41:52 AM
According to this email i just got we might have 7NM video cards and maybe 7nm ASICs next year some time for a few years before it hits 5nm and the good part not from China but from Japan a free nation ....

Still gonna cost but a good step in who controls what .so cost and Customer service might not be as bad as it is now for ASICs miners bought from china, Mainly CS...might be better ..plus stuff bought from china might be cheaper not better but a lot cheaper..

The price still sucks though you can buy a GTX 1060 3gb for way less, an a  GTX 1060 6gb for about the same as the lowest priced RX 570 4gb  .. just thought some might want to know they can buy RX 570 and RX 580 at a kind of good price.
15  Economy / Service Discussion / nicehash sent my mind BTC with to low a fee ? . on: August 18, 2017, 07:56:07 PM
https://blockchain.info/address/13Xb4RvqoeRumYbzNpe4a8jNLb7N3qhFNZ

it's been setting there sense the time it was sent around 6 AM this morning an it looks like they sent it with to low a fee ? ...

OFC they don't care I hope i get the btc at some point and it's not sent back to them ..

I hate dealing with Nice hash support because of past support help i asked for they told me pretty much tough shit and kept the BTC and it wasn't my fault .

trust me I won't ever use Nice hash again to mine on an try to discourage other's from mining there .. IF they keep those BTC and tell me fuck off, if i don't get them .

I wish cleave mining had stayed in business it paid better and i never once had issue using cleave mining till the end then everyone did but they made good kind of .

Ive tried side hacks board it didn't power it and two others i bought off ebay that do power the 750 watt 1200 watts 1500 watt and 2400 watt. as does side hacks ...o yea  I know all the 2400 watt psu is  two 1200 watt wired to gather in a news case with very quite fans i do mean very quite .  because it needs two 1200 watt break out boards to get full use which i like a lot better ...
