2  Economy / Economics / GOX: Withdrawing funds on: April 12, 2013, 09:11:38 AM
Has anyone actually been able to withdraw funds (not bitcoin) within the last 3 days via bank transfers?

So far I seem to be stuck on validation of my bank account was just wondering how long this normally took for others.

Also yay bitcoin I love you even if I did get buned a few times you still made my life much much better.
3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Little help here on encryption. on: April 03, 2013, 03:51:25 PM
So I have been away from the bitcoin for some time and come back to find it’s all getting real.
I had to download the new client etc and import my old wallet.dat  and was happy to find all the bitcoins were still in place.

Then I go to send them to MTgox and nope I can’t remember the passphrase or I’m getting it wrong. ( I still think I am typing the right phrase)

Yes might have been a good idea to write it down etc but to late now.

So any advice?
Does a passphrase have to have capital, lowercase, number and a minimum length?

I suppose I could have changed it last time I was logged in or maybe someone else has changed it.
or has something changed with the new client and this could be causing my problem?

Also wallet says encrypted and locked.

4  Bitcoin / Mining / Solar PV 4 your mining rigs ? on: March 01, 2012, 06:32:49 PM
So do we have miners that might be interested in buying ( bitcoins are fine ) a PV system in the UK?

Only ask because as miner myself I found the power bill a little expensive and my Solar system has really taken the edge off.

If I get any interest I will make a proper thread about it and my company.

Happy to chat over the phone or skype if anyone has any questions.

Ow and yes I'm MCS certified etc etc.

Edit: I guess with all these FPGA's coming out power is less of an issue tho  Undecided

5  Other / Politics & Society / Book request to the dwellers Politics & Society on: July 04, 2011, 07:44:17 PM
Having lurked in your threads I find myself entirely ill equipped and my ignorance outright embarrasses me within this field and so onto my request or should I say plea.

I only ask you to suggest a book that I should read and if it please you feel free to give a little explanation or in deed a long one.

The ones most mentioned I shall read first and I shall keep the list below updated.

Books I should go out and read:

1984, George Orwell  x 4
( This was a single number response to a thread of mine and I thank you pinjas) Wink

Aldous Huxley's Brave New World x 3

Alongside Night, J. Neil Schulman x 2
http://www.alongsidenight.net/

The Rational Optimist, Matt Ridley x 1

http://mises.org/books/boundaries.pdf

I'm sure I am not alone and I hope this thread will enlighten others as I hope it to enlighten myself.

Having  finished writing this on word  and on  account of my irritating dyslexia  It  took me considerably more effort than is proportional to the task and as I prepared to cut and paste what do I find but a similar thread right at the top. Undecided

I’m going to post it anyway and let it die if it must but I will take responsibility of maintaining the list that I promise you.
6  Other / Politics & Society / Bitcoinminer + Limmited Company + Accountant = Police visit ? on: July 03, 2011, 02:48:43 PM
Hope im in the right place I'm new to the forums and just got My JR Status \0/

So I have UK based Limited company its small but I’m building it up with hard work.

Anyway it results in me having spare power so I'm investing in mining rigs to help me out with cash flow as I’m starting out. <---- That and I love the bitcoin dream and want it to change the world but that’s for another thread. Grin

My accountant just told me to expect a visit from the police and be prepared to prove that I’m not funding terrorism. That’s not cool because our UK terror laws could totally ruin my life (god knows how they got those laws even passed).  Undecided

So this is the result of being upfront, honest, transparent and preparing to pay tax's on my bitcoin income?

I'm not allowed to copy his email here unless he gives me permission so will seek that next week and see if I can post it here.

Just wanted some views on this from other UK residents really.

EDIT: for speeling im horribad at it.
