1  Other / Meta / New topic limit on: June 10, 2011, 11:50:52 PM
In order to stave off the inevitable new topic forum spam from new people with 1 or 2 posts, I think there should be a 30-50 post barrier in order to start making new topics. There's too many "BUY BUY BUY BUY" "SELL SELL SELL SELL" topics not to mention questions that could easily be found in the wiki or simply searching the forums. It is beginning to be difficult following topics as there are so many new ones being created now.

edit: Don't get me wrong..I understand we were all "once newbs" before. But, once more and more people start joining the forums it will be a PITA to sift through all the new topics. Also, I know not every new topic is the same and I look forward to all the awesome discussions started on these forums.
2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Connections top out at 8 on: June 07, 2011, 10:48:59 PM
Do I need to forward specific ports other than 8332 in order to get > 8 connections on the bitcoin client? Also, does having more than 8 connections really matter?
3  Economy / Trading Discussion / Specific number of confirms for sending coins to Mt Gox? on: June 07, 2011, 05:16:19 AM
Is there a specific number of confirmations needed for sent coins to show up in my mt gox account?

"Please be patient, it may take a few hours for the Bitcoin network to confirm the transaction."

This statement is a little vague.

6  Bitcoin / Mining support / To those with multi-5970 setups: which mobo are you using? on: February 11, 2011, 05:16:44 AM
I am not sure whether to post this in the mining forum or this..I figured the technical support one would fit more. Anyway...so I find out today that my motherboard, Asus M4A89GTD PRO/USB3, does not work with 2x 5970s. I have tried everything to get them to work; from clearing the cmos, switching the psu cables, switching the gpus between slots, using the most recent mobo bios update..and an older version, multi-gpu link cable and no link cable. I have tried everything.

I have a 1000 watt raidmax psu so I am fairly confident it is not the source of the problem. I believe the bios just doesn't support dual 5970s for some reason, although this mobo worked fine with a single 5970 and a 5770.

Any suggestions?
