So I had my 500W PSU power one card on my mining rig (5830) and running my PC.  As I am browsing the internetz it all of a sudden died, I figured to let it cool maybe it overheated but it was not really even that warm. Ideas? Is it burnt? Ha get it!

I am currently running 2 5830's and have another 2 coming in soon. Will a well rated 1000W be enough?

9  Economy / Trading Discussion / If your in the EURO Zone move your money to BTC , Silver, or Gold (link) on: July 20, 2011, 04:48:40 AM

Printing money is Europe’s only way out

WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) — Italy is wobbling. Spain is facing a fresh crisis. Even France doesn’t look like it is a secure member of the euro zone anymore. The storms swirling around Europe’s beleaguered single currency are growing by the day as the crisis moves in from the periphery into what can only be regarded as core Europe. The markets remain poised on a knife edge, fearful of the consequences of a full scale collapse.

How much money are we talking about? The Royal Bank of Scotland estimates that at least 2 trillion euros may needed to be added to the emergency funds set up by the EU to keep the single currency afloat.
10  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Anyone have experience with the x1-x16 PCI extenders? on: July 19, 2011, 06:39:07 AM
I would use the one with the MOLEX so I do not fry my card but was wondering if anyone else had experience with them on windows 7.
Would love to double my current output.
11  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / How to maximize a 5830? on: July 19, 2011, 01:13:15 AM
I just received my new 5830s

Their currently running at 900mhz and giving me about 250mhs each.

I read

I want to try to reach the 300-310 mhs range. What combo do I need for this?!

I am currently running GUI Miner on windows 7 32 bit.

If you need more info let me know.

**PS: I tried to use RIVA Tuner to go over 900mhz but it kept dropping my fan speed down to 25% by itself so I decided not to use it. If not I would not be posting this.

15  Economy / Trading Discussion / Should trading be closed on weekends?! on: July 08, 2011, 10:56:43 PM
Considering the obvious that you can not transfer cash funds to your account on weekends (due to banks being closed) why not close the markets on weekends.

Just wondering what people think.
