1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Attempting Wallet Recovery from 2015 on: February 10, 2021, 05:10:40 AM
Hey team,

Total newb here. I will be incredibly grateful for any help you can offer!

I've been sitting on about half a coin since 2015, without knowing how to access it since I first got it. I actually bought it in 2014 on a platform called Vault of Satoshi, and they decided to shut down a year later. The details are a little foggy, but I created a wallet and moved it to Armory at that time, and haven't touched it since (I can see my Wallet ID listed under "Available Wallets" when I launch the program). Regrettably, I do not have a paper backup. I'm hoping I will be able to remember whatever password is required once I get the latest version of Armory installed.

First order of business: the current version of my Armory is 0.92.3 - is this wallet still going to show up if I upgrade to the latest version now? Probably a stupid question, but I just want to err on the side of caution..

Assuming I install the new version of Armory, all I have is the Wallet ID. I vaguely remember writing down a 12 word phrase - which I've read is a thing, and jogged my memory - but I can't find it for the life of me. It was on a post-it note in my old desk, which I have since gotten rid of.. I'm desperately hoping I recorded it somewhere else as a backup, but the search continues..

Is there any possible way to recover the wallet without that passphrase?? Or am I completely SOL?

Thanks in advance.
