1  Economy / Service Announcements / {ANNOUNCEMENT} WBX Exchange Frozen on: February 23, 2012, 10:25:35 AM
Dear Clients,

We would like to apologize to all our clients for the lack of customer support provided over the past weeks, as of 14th February we have been faced with another banking institution issue, which includes the following;

We've had an account suspension issue with our Commonwealth processing account and are unable to execute EFT AUD withdrawals while the account is suspended. We will leave the exchange in its 'frozen' state until we are able to re-commence operations.

We've had an issue or two in the past with other banking institutions in Australia so we understand the tension this causes for customers and ourselves. However we've always managed to correct them.

We thank you for your support and appreciate your patience as we work through this.

2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / suspicious security measures on WBX on: November 16, 2011, 12:38:13 AM
Dear WBX Users,

As you may be aware we have recently had to freeze trading on the World Bitcoin Exchange on several occasions.  This is a result of recently implemented tightened security measures which have identified some accounts as showing suspicious activity.  We have responded by suspending the accounts in question.

The new security measures have been brought into place at the insistence of a number of banking and policing entities after an increase in the incidence of fraud, phishing attacks and money laundering being carried out using Bitcoins to mask illegal transactions.

Should your account be suspended and you believe this suspension to be in error, we ask that you contact us in order to start the identification process.  Once gathered, the documentation in question is held on a secure data store. Any submitted information will not be shared with any third party under any circumstance, except where WBX is legally obliged to do so.

Please be aware that due to the sudden increase in AML requests, processing of submitted documentation has become slightly delayed. We thank our users for their continued patience and support as we adjust to the requirements which have been obligated upon WBX.

3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / [announce] World Bitcoin Exchange....LIVE AGAIN on: October 28, 2011, 12:00:34 PM
Hi all,

We are having technical difficulties with our exchange, the exchange will be down for the next 24-48 hours, we apologise for any inconvenience caused, we are working around the clock to fix this problem ASAP.

I will keep you updated as information comes to hand.

We're back up after a server error. The exchange will be frozen until 9pm server time to give you a chance to cancel orders you no longer want on the orderbook. See the 'news' link on the right for more details.

4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / accepting MTGOX withdraws and deposits via voucher - LIVE on: September 04, 2011, 08:27:47 AM
Hi Team,

Heres my idea now LIVE... alongside the launch of MTGOX new currency system id like to give MTGOX users the option to deposit funds to World Bitcoin Exchange (wbxAUD) via the MTGOX voucher system.

Heres how it will work

0) MTGOX users will complete a withdraw with in MTGOX using the redeemable voucher feature (requesting the withdraw in AUD)
1) MTGOX users will login/sign up to wbxAUD (its free)
2) Go to our deposit page.
3) Enter the MTGOX Redeemable code (received from MTGOX when you made the withdraw)
4) Enter the Value.
5) Our system checks it.

.....***Your done***....... we would anticipate the funds to be available within 1-2hrs on our exchange. (or instantly everything going well)

So your asking whats the benefits of doing this??? well i will try to explain:

1) Reduced withdraw fees out of MTGOX (currently $10 to withdraw to AUD banks from MTGOX).....would like your comments here.
2) Bitcoin/AUD Arbitrage Opportunities
3) More trading options
4) increased Volume on the exchange.
5) Withdraw to your Australian bank account (free)
6) The opportunity to withdraw AUD from wbxAUD to MTGOX at reduced rates. (technocash charges 3.96% to deposit to MTGOX)

Your comments and criticism are welcome please go easy on me!

Trade Well - Andre

Remember this is only in concept stage....(meaning in my head.... oh and on here too)

Hi All,

In association with Intersango Software (the guys that brought britcoin to the market). We are proud to announce Australia's first real Bitcoin Exchange, we are an Australian registered company based in the Gold Coast.

In 3 days the site will launch live.

We are giving Australian's the opportunity to paper trade, to get use to the exchange and how it works, when you sign up we will assign you AUD and BTC this is limited to 3 days only, you can not withdraw or deposit funds in the account until we go LIVE.

This will help us test security, order book, trade, withdraw and deposit's, this will help make sure we have a uninterrupted service.

Two factor Authentication is on the exchange for testing.

Our company has been around for 3 years, our background is providing Financial products for High Net Worth Individuals based in Melbourne, we have recently relocated to Queensland as the majority of our customers are here.

Id like to put this pre-introduction to the forum for discussion. you can find us at or

9  Economy / Currency exchange / NO RESERVE BITCOIN AUCTION My idea in progress on: July 18, 2011, 06:50:56 AM
Hi Bitcoiners,

Started my website today been working on it for awhile now, i ve just listed some bitcoins for no reserve price genuine sale.

as i was working on this project bitcoiners started to sign thankyou.

I just want to gauge the site, on how it will be used, the site is basically a place where you can buy or sell bitcoins, either by Auction or Buy Now you can sell bitcoins for 24hrs, 3days, 7days. and any listed currency.

To bid/buy bitcoins is easy just sign up for an account and your bid/buying in minutes

To sell you will have to go through an authentication process this protects the buyer and the community.

Please please tell me your thoughts

11  Other / Beginners & Help / warning! Ebay deleting all bitcoin auctions.. on: July 08, 2011, 08:33:07 AM

Ebay is deleting all bitcoin auctions due to T&C infringements, this is a call to bitcoin traders, Miners and the community to boycott ebay and start using here you can list your bitcoins free and we have a success fee that dwarfs the ebay fee of 0.75% and you only pay when your item sells, the fee matches mainstream exchanges like mt gox and tradehill.

this will be a community trusted website not a third party website, deal direct with the buyer.

this is where i will communicate with the community to develop the website, and heres the first....

My logo is a bit crappy can anyone help

tell me your thoughts and happy bidding

12  Other / Beginners & Help / ebay clone site for bitcoin users only on: July 02, 2011, 02:42:34 PM
Hay Bitcoiners,

Im looking at opening a site that clones eBay's (structure) but with my own logos and site setup, i would like some advice from the community to what features or aspects of the site could help make the site user friendly for both sellers and buyers as well, heres what i think

1. a place where new/established bitcoiners can purchase bitcoins, mining rigs, bitbills, currency, and anything to do with bitcoins only.

2. buyers choose to purchase via paypal, bitcoin transfer etc.

3. Fees will be half that of ebay and based on flat fee structure.

4. a comments and feedback section that can't be removed and strict policies that removes any user that abuses the site (like more than 3 negative feed backs get removed or blocked)

so thats it in a nut shell just want to get your suggestions, or if you think its a stupid idea please let me know or on the other hand if you like it again let me know as well.
