1  Other / Off-topic / Suicidal ideation on: November 23, 2018, 10:29:14 AM
We are humans and for that matter, we are bound to all forms of psychological trauma when something is not going well. I have been wondering what some people who bought bitcoin since last year and early part of this year might be going through. For instance, somebody who bought 1BTC as at last year and he or she is in possession of it up till date, what do you think such a person might want to do to him or herself now that bitcoin has drain so heavily. I think such a person might be psychologically lacerated and thinking committing suicide. What do you also think and what advise will you offer to such a person?
2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Is it just me or everyone is concerned? on: August 28, 2018, 04:00:18 PM
For quite sometime now I have been secretly praying and hoping that Bitcoin doesn’t rush with this upward trend.
I do not think the miners will be able to keep supporting bitcoin mining if the price goes below 6000$.
Hopefully my prayers seem to have been answered as I can see an organic in bitcoin value to 7000$ for a while. Do you think this is an organic rise in bitcoin value and is it likely to remain within the ranges of 7000$ without dropping? Share your emotions and opinions guys!
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / What actually happens when an altcoin is listed on an exchange? on: August 22, 2018, 07:50:31 PM
I have been contemplating on what happens when a particular altcoin is listed on an exchange. I think that, the team that owns the altcoin allocates some of their tokens to the preferred exchange custody so that the exchange can create some sort of initial buy or sell orders. This is something I have been contemplating upon for quite some time now. I want to find out different opinions from the house. So what happens when an altcoin is listed on an exchange?
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / [FCN][MRO][QCN][BCN] GUI miner on: May 16, 2014, 09:05:17 AM
Hey guys,

There was a lot of problems with the last GUI miner version so I decided to build a new one.

Main point of it is this: I declined the concept of 4gb_memory_blockchain - all you have to do now is enter your BCN/MRO/QCN and FCN wallet address and connect to one of the nodes directly. It will solve the issue with the “eternal_BCN_sync”.

Download: http://solominer.org/
Source: https://github.com/amphibia/SoloMiner

Linux instructions:

Requirements:
OS: Ubuntu 14.04
Packages: libwxgtk3.0-0, libwxgtk3.0-dev, libwxbase3.0-dev, libwxbase3.0-0, libboost1.55-all-dev, cmake, wx3.0-headers, g++

How to build
The building process is pretty straightforward:
Code:
sudo apt-get install g++
sudo apt-get install cmake
sudo apt-get install libwxgtk3.0-0
sudo apt-get install libwxgtk3.0-dev
sudo apt-get install libwxbase3.0-dev
sudo apt-get install libwxbase3.0-0
sudo apt-get install libboost1.55-all-dev
sudo apt-get install wx3.0-headers

Code:
git clone https://github.com/amphibia/SoloMiner.git
cd SoloMiner
mkdir build
cd build
cmake .. -DCMAKE_BUILD_TYPE=Release
make

Run
./SoloMiner

BMR/MRO and QCN developers can contact me through PM to talk about direct nodes for miners.

That’s pretty much it for now - don't hesitate to reach out for me in case of any questions.

Cheers.

5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / [FCN] Fantomcoin development fund on: May 14, 2014, 04:16:15 PM
Hey guys,

Recently I’ve been working really hard to provide you with all CryptoNote updates, exchanges, logos etc. But unfortunately One Man Army will not go far in this type of competition. So I’ve made a decision to create a FCN development fund. Currently there is 100 FCN and 0.12 BTC donated by me, if you want to take a part of it - you can find donation addresses below.

As you all well know, for now I have my hands full with FCN and pool development and would really like to get some help from the community. So, without further ado, let’s get to the point.

Clearly, fantomcoin.org website is not in a best shape right now, so new website is item number 1.
Item number 2 is GUI wallet. I know I promised to do it but sometimes, I really like to sleep. Smiley
Item number 3 is gambling website. I don’t really know why other developers forgetting about this awesome_newbie_attraction_thing.

So if you’d like to be a part of FCN advancing - I would really REALLY appreciate the help.

You can also help FCN by donating to this addresses:

FCN: 6ntYwFY2syKVha7K1KZrhD8Uyzc2VsCpAjGi8YptCVHmfeqkAyRWQSX8gV23uvnHZY2LssBMoidGfCr VAc9k1RSsN7WKSf2
BTC: 1DTgwBagJBk3Q7GBMcTxECRe4CqyoA6X5K

Thank you all for the attention and have a nice day.

Cheers.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / [FCN] Fantomcoin OTC exchange on: May 14, 2014, 02:39:22 PM
Welcome to the OTC Fantomcoin topic!

FantomCoin is supporting merged mining with every major CryptoNote currency. New blockchain needs no additional hashpower - it uses Bytecoin/BCN, BitMonero/BMR/MRO, QuazarCoin/QCN blocks or shares as PoW. Miners are free to choose donor chain they like. In case other chains based on CryptoNote will appear they also can be used as donor chains.

First merged mining instructions for those who doesn't like GUI:

First of all be sure of two things:

1. Launch Bytecoin's/Monero's/QuazarCoin's daemon and wait till its synchronization.

2. Start FantomCoin's daemon. The process is very similar to BCN's: launch command line, navigate to the right folder and launch fantomoind.exe . Use "save" command after synchronization  Wink

3. Create FCN's address. Again it is the same process for BCN, XMR and QCN: open another instance of command line, navigate to Fantomcoin’s folder and generate new wallet with “simplewallet”.

simplewallet --generate-new-wallet=example_wallet.bin --pass=12345

Here “example_wallet.bin” is the name of the wallet (use .bin file extension) and “12345” is the password for your new wallet.

4. One more command line is needed. Navigate to Fantomcoin's folder and launch minerc.exe using the next command:

minerc --node1=127.0.0.1:8081 --node2=127.0.0.1:24081 --wallet1=%your BCN/XMR/QCN address% --wallet2=%your FCN address%

--node1=127.0.0.1:8081 is IP and BCN's daemon port. If you want MM with MRO you need to use this one: --node1=127.0.0.1:18081 instead
--node2=127.0.0.1:24081 is IP and FCN's  daemon port

5. Enjoy merged mining!

Merged mining with GUI:

1. Start daemons and make sure they are synchronized with the network. Use save command after it.
2. Start GUI miner. Add BCN/MRO and FCN addresses to the right field. Click "Start"

I'm developer working with thanful_for_today on merged mining issues. I see that community is against merged mining in BitMonero but I still believe in MM. I will start my own blockchain with MM implementation from scratch.

New blockchain will need no additional hashpower - it will use Bytecoin/BCN or BitMonero/BMR blocks or shares as PoW. Miners are free to choose "donor" chain they like. In case other chains based on CryptoNote will appear they also can be used as "donor" chains. This way I expect that new chain will have more hashpower than both BCN and BMR.
