Calculations included block/uncle rewards, transaction fees and uncle inclusion rewards.

2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / [ANN] Solidcoin pool has been closed. Please withdraw coins before 2012-11-11. on: November 02, 2012, 07:17:59 PM
Probably announcement in Coinotron's thread didn't get enough attention of former SC miners.

There is still a lot of Solidcoins in pool's wallet !

Please withdraw your Solidcoins from Coinotron until 2012-11-11.

After that date I will shut down pool's SC client.

5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Coinotron - coins from SolidCoin 1.0 on: October 15, 2011, 11:57:42 AM
FYI

We've successfully recovered all pool's coins from old solidcoin 1 wallet and transfered them tu current SC2 wallet.
Those coins have been added to users SC balances.
In order to limit possible payouts to non-existing solidcoin 1 addresses we also changed SC payout threshold to 0.
Please check if your SC payout address is correct (generated by SolidCoin 2.0 client) before you change send threshold value.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Why does auto-mining in Coinotron is more profitable than mining only BTC on: September 16, 2011, 10:50:30 AM
Over 3 weeks have passed since we implemented customizable auto-mining in Coinotron. We have gathered enough data to do some math. Obvious question was how much more profitable is auto-mining when we compare it to standard BTC mining.

First of all results: by using auto-mining you can gain 14% more coins than mining only BTC!

Now I will try to explain methodology.

Assumptions:
1.   We use real data based on work of real user connected do Coinotron pool between 2011-09-09 03:49:04 UTC and 2011-09-13 11:12:56 UTC.
2.   During that period all 3 user’s workers were set to auto-mining mode
3.   As a result user has mined for BTC, I0C and SC
4.   Because of 120 confirmations needed before withdrawal we assume that user has been withdrawing coins 2 hours after block was confirmed and exchanging them immediately at i0exchange.bitparking.com (i0coins) or btc-e.com (solidcoins).
5.   In order to mitigate factor of luck we will compare our results to results of hypothetical user connected to deepbit pool in PPS mode (0.00002563 BTC per share)

Calculations:

User submitted 18425 BTC shares, 12257 I0C shares and 31429 SC shares

If he had submitted those shares to deepbit he would gain: 1.59190493 BTC
(62111 shares*0.00002563BTC )

If he had used our auto-mining workers he would gain: 1.81650273 BTC
0.47223275 BTC for 18425 BTC shares * 0.00002563BTC
0.33642704 BTC for 12257 I0C shares
1.00784295 BTC for 31429 SC shares

1.81650273 BTC / 1.59190493 BTC = 1.141

We where interested how delaying in time i0coins and solidcoins exchange to BTC will affect results:

Delay      Profit compared to deepbit PPS

0 hours = 1.145  ( theoretically )
2 hours = 1.141
4 hours = 1.140
6 hours = 1.132
8 hours = 1.126
10 hours = 1.131
24 hours = 1.053 ( not bad )

So it is clear that there is no need to rush to exchange with every alternate coin received from pool Smiley
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Coinotron - Automated switching to the most profitable currency on: August 31, 2011, 08:05:39 AM
Hello

We have this feature in our pool since last week. It is being used by more and more users.
Currently there is only one version: system chooses currency which is most profitable and switches all AUTO workers to this currency. I would like to introduce more sophisticated versions.

One of our miners, shaun5000 had a great idea: automate not only switching to the most profitable coin but automate exchange to bitcoins as well.

In this topic I would like to get some feedback from you. Please let me know what would you improve or add in this area.

8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / I0coin aka "ZOMBIE Coin" back in Coinotron + new worker type: AUTO on: August 24, 2011, 10:23:52 AM
Please join us Smiley

www.coinotron.com

2011-08-24 New functions added:

- new worker type: AUTO ( Systems automatically chooses what coin to mine for. There is no need to point your workers to other sites, ports etc. Just choose AUTO option for worker and everything will be done by system! Calculation is based on current exchange rates, difficulties and number of coins generated in blocks. )
- support for SolidCoins
- profitability ratio for each coin type - you can see what coin is best to mine
- user interface improvements

According to dot-bit.org on 2011-07-21 namecoins difficulty will decrease from 55000 to 23000.
Maybe namecoins mining will become more popular ?  Smiley

If you are interested, please visit our pool and see how changes hash rate of namecoins part.
