1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / WHAT HAPPENS TO BITCOIN IF ATLANTIC INTERNET CABLES ARE CUT OFF? on: October 04, 2022, 06:38:25 PM
So have any of you been wondering what happens to the Bitcoin network if the Atlantic internet cables are cut off?  Huh

Gas pipelines on the Baltic sea was just recently blown up so it's not so far fetched scenario to happen is it?

Will the network fork?

Would Elon Musks Starlink satellites still keep the Bitcoin network up and running if all the cables are cut? Assuming the miners would use that as back up solution?

Some words from Red4Sec:

In general terms, it has been detected that the design and logic of the project is well defined. The project code follows a methodology of safe programming and good practices. The project has great support from the team as some of the vulnerabilities have been resolved at the time they were detected by Red4Sec, mitigating the possible impact and repercussion that could cause to the project.
3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Miners have full control of Bitcoin price. Nobody can trust a system like this. on: November 12, 2017, 10:22:38 AM
This is yet again demonstration how miners have total control over Bitcoin price and it's forks. Nobody can trust a system like this when few powerful people can change eveyrthing in a day.

Not as a store of value
Not as a currency
Not as anything really other than an instrument for the rich to get richer and poor to get poorer. This is same as FIAT. You have not accomplished much anything really.

Proof of Work is doomed. Proof of Stake is the future.

POS changes everything.

1. In proof of work miners can play the system forever. They can dump their BTC when it's high and buy large amounts of BHC and start mining BHC which will rise it's price as you can see from the chart in the OP and what just happened over the past couple days. Then they dump BHC at 2-3 times the price and buy back BTC when it's low and move back to mining BTC... and on and on it goes and in the future it will be even worse when there are many more Bitcoin forks.
2. In Proof of Stake you can dump your stake (your holdings) only once! Once that is done you are out of power over the system and you can't play the system forever like in proof of work.

4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Whats going on with Bitfinex BTC trading? on: April 21, 2017, 08:01:45 AM
Whats going on with Bitfinex? Bitfinex BTC price is ahead about 100$ vs. most exchanges and much more so vs Chinese exchanges... Mt Gox all over again?

5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Ethminer ODD issue... 5 ETH reward to whoever first solves this on: March 13, 2016, 10:07:10 PM
Hi, I have run to a very odd issue with one of my mining rigs with 2 R9290X-DC2OC-4GD5 GPU's equipped. I have 3 other identical setups and they work just fine, but with this one the hashrate has dropped from almost 60 to about 30's and I can't get anything accepted anymore (it's just hasing with low hashrate and NO ACCEPTED submissions no matter what pool I use Huh

Here's what I have done so far trying to fix this:

1) YEAH I have deleted the DAGS like 50 times now, but this time it's something else
2) Clean install of Windows 7 and drivers everything including Ethereum C++
3) I have removed the GPU's, cleaned them of dust
4) I have tried swapping the GPU's and try them one by one, but still the same result
5) I ran 3dmark ->> http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/11212568 The cards ain't broken they work just fine for gaming??
6) I have cleared Environment Variables Using Setx.exe, but no effect
7) I have 3 similar setups using the same drivers and config files and they mine just fine, but SERIOUSLY WTH is going on with this one?

I am running out of ideas what to try. This problem started today when I moved my rigs to another pool up until then everything was working just fine, but now the new nor the old pool don't accept anything from that rig anymore. and YES the DAG's deleted so many times...

It's just like this on and on... Mining, but no accepted's:

9  Economy / Speculation / Mt Gox all over again *** WARNING *** Heads up this rise is too fast on: October 30, 2015, 08:41:48 AM
There is a gap of 30$ in price across the exchanges and the price drivers are mainly OKcoin and Huobi rest of them are just followers.

I bet there is Mt Gox type of situationg going on again price is being pumped with faked transactions fiat/bitcoins.

Just watch it. I suspect these 2 exchanges.
10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / GOVERMENTS killing CRYPTO. Back to the drawing table SATOSHI NAKAMOTO. on: August 24, 2015, 06:37:28 PM
Bitcoin network Hashrate just keeps on going UP UP UP, BUT price keeps on going DOWN DOWN DOWN. This is not profitable for the miners by a longshot.

Only logical explanation is THIS: Goverments have developed HIGHTECH QUANTUM ASICS for sole purphose of killing cryptocurrencies where they stand in order to KEEP THEIR POWER GRIP.

THIS IS A FACT. Back to the drawing table SATOSHI NAKAMOTO. + CENTRALIZATION through development is also FAIL FYI (bribes on the dev team etc.)

Price 166$ and dpping WTF HuhHuh?

13  Economy / Speculation / The reason for Bitcoin "crash" after year has changed is simple = Income tax on: January 04, 2015, 03:48:44 AM
Whales and smaller fishes dumbing their cryptocoins(that is including all altcoins) for FIAT after year has changed so they can avoid paying the taxes on the profits until in 2016.

If they had switched to FIAT in 2014 they would be paying the taxes for those porfits now in 2015. This gives them options and room to maneuver for more profits with their holdings.

And this is especially BIG deal in countries where income taxation is very high.

16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / LTC Needs to be replaced (Someone please develop *KILLER* coin for Scrypt ASICS) on: January 02, 2015, 03:56:16 AM
WE ARE ON TWITTER RALLY TO ME AND LET'S GET IT OVER WITH !!! RALLY TO ME !!!

https://twitter.com/KILLLITECOIN

LTC = LITECOIN (NOTHING BUT A CLONE OF BITCOIN, NO DEVELOPMENT WHAT SO EVER, NO INNOVATIONS)
WASTE OF ELECTRICITY AND POLLUTING OUR PLANET
RALLY TO ME !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
HERE'S WHAT YOU CAN DO:
1. IF YOU ARE A MINER -> STOP MINING LTC AND DEDICATE YOUR HASHRATE TO WHATEVER PROJECT THAT HAS ACTUAL DEVELOPMENT AND PROMISE
2. IF YOU ARE INVESTOR DROP YOUR BAG AT ONCE AND INVEST IN PROJECTS THAT AIM TO IMRPVE THE CRYPTOCOIN TECHNOLOGY
3. SPREAD THE WORD !!!!! THANK YOU Smiley

WTF is this shitcoin still doing at top of market cap!!! Bitcoin is what it is, BUT LTC is just a copy shitcoin and poor one at that these days.

The only reason LTC "litecoin" is still in top 4 in market cap is because there's about 1680GH/s thrown at it by SCRYPT ASICS and they have no promising new coin really to throw all that hashpower... So here we are stuck with LTC.

1. This coin does not have development (never really had)
2. There's A TON of coins with far better features than this old shit, but they are not mineable for SCRYPT ASICS

NOW I MUST CHALLENGE SOMEONE WITH SKILLS TO DEVELOP THEIR NEW PROMISING COIN in SCRYPT ALGO and KILL LTC once and for ALL.  Grin

I have perfect name and strategy in mind for this agenda and ready to invest in the project! WHO IS WITH ME?  Grin

17  Bitcoin / Mining / After ASIC what comes next? on: December 21, 2014, 06:54:20 AM
So hey guys, miners, enthusiasts... You are all probably aware that Bitcoin network hashrate seems to be in a "holding pattern" for the past 2 months and growth seem to have stopped now.

So any ideas what comes next? Something exciting that will make the hashrate keep going up or are we going to stay in this "holding pattern" for years now? Only small advances when new data centers for Bitcoin opens... Or?

18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Bittrex #1 of main altcoin exchanges by volume (as of 22nd of July 2014) on: July 21, 2014, 10:47:18 PM

Looks like Bittrex is where the action is these days... I'm surpriced Mintpal, Cryptsy, Poloniex, Bter are far behind.
