2  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / New idea for an intelligent blocksize increase on: August 22, 2015, 02:06:04 PM
I came up with an intelligent solution:

just make an update which scans the last 2000 blocks mined for their size and if those blocks were on average more than 80% or 90% full the network could automatically produce blocks 0.1 MB bigger. So whenever for a long time the blocks are full or near full an automatic increase by a very small step like 0.1 MB or less could be done by the network. Ideally the increase is a little slower than the build-up of fees to keep the chain secure.

I think this proposal from a non-coder is a lot better than that bullshit Gavin produces. Opinions?

Code devs can feel free to use my idea like it was their own.

Increasing blocks from 1MB to 8MB in a single step without market-demand for this blockspace or consensus is the idea of a moron, clearly.

If blocks should be bigger, they should be bigger because of demand and not because some moron says so.

5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Now that we know many XT nodes are fake, what are the implications? on: August 18, 2015, 06:39:02 PM
Title says it.
What are the consequences? Will they still cling to their plans for the Gavincoin-attack even after it is public knowledge that their data is extremely messy and unreliable? If yes, what are the consequences of that?
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Unobtanium is killing it! on: January 24, 2015, 02:20:16 PM
Rising for 6 months now against Bitcoin! Took the 0.01 - mark today!
Why? Because it has best properties as moneytoken thanks to its scarcity and an array of different other amazing properties like tiny use of HD space to save the blockchain, fast download, fast transactions.
No premine, ninjamine or other crap and much better/fairer distribution than Bitcoin. And so on and so forth (beats bitcoin in almost every area)

Much less volatile than Bitcoin too because no miners dumping 24/7 ! (think merchant adoption)

Don't be left behind. Greet the future of cryptocurrency here:

Unobtanium is breeding the worst permabulls in cryptohistory right now! The great permabull migration has begun!

7  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / just looked at the pie. How come ghash.io collapsed? on: December 27, 2014, 05:28:16 PM
See here:

8  Other / Meta / can we ban ripple? on: December 18, 2014, 02:18:14 AM
It's spamming the forum and it's not even  real cryptocurrency.
Do we need to support a private cooperation and give them space for free advertising in the forum?
9  Economy / Speculation / speculation section is dead on: November 24, 2014, 03:09:36 AM
this section is boring today. No traffic at all last days/weeks.

The Ann-section in altcoins looks like a trashcan. In altcoins you get outright ponzi shemes offered and 'tripple your bitcoin in 5 minuts' stuff

Is it time to bail and just let it be history? I mean: participants and quality are declining not rising - for months

Altcoins is trash and scams. Bitcoin charts look like shit. The technology is actually clusterfuck, it's pretty fragile and not robust by any means. I think they need more developement but in altcoins it is only lazy people.

I don't believe in society anyways, why should this be working out?

Sell bitcoin, buy ripple and apple stocks?
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Why do we never get a topic on inflation in this section? (poll) on: November 14, 2014, 05:47:27 AM
Been here a while now. I have never seen a topic on inflation in coins. Why is that? Do you just not care about it? Do you think it doesn't matter? Or maybe you aren't aware of its impacts? Is it not of interest?

What do you think about the inflation aspect in coins?

Poll let's you choose max two options. Let me know if an option needs to be added.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Why is the pandacoin thread locked? on: September 16, 2014, 03:57:17 AM

12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / This altcoin-section has become a massive fail-parade on: July 08, 2014, 11:48:09 PM

13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Why i prefer POW over POS on: May 13, 2014, 02:36:50 AM
These days it is the hype of pos-coins. I thought a thread is needed to show the advantages of POW over POS.
I prefer pow-coins for a number of reasons. Those are:

-POW gives everybody the opportunity to get in on a coin through mining. POS on the other hand favours early adopters. People who come late to the show have a serious disadvantage.
-For the above reason POW-coins are more widely distributed over a longer period of time.
-POW means the creation of coins is decetralized where many POS-coins are mined out within days and weeks which makes flashmining an even greater issue
-POW is time-tested
-POS means high inflation. Of course it is nice to get 100% interest on an asiacoin but that also means the coin is not scarce so its value will after the initial pumps probably decline while the high pos-interests last.

These are the main reasons i prefer POW-coins with a good reward-decrease over highly inflationary, even more experimental pos-coins as an investement.

Please stop thinking pos would be superior to pow which is not the case. POS just makes the rich ones richer while excluding people with no coins or not so much money as well as miners from accumulating the coin. POS-coins are more like exclusive circles of traders while pow is open for everybody even later in the game.

So really, i don't buy into the hype. I think anything over 2% or 3% interest a year is not a good investement even if i would be the one harvesting those interests.
Also decentralized moneycreation over a longer timeperiod is to prefer from an ethical standpoint over a flashming or ipo in the beginning and heavy whale-monopoly thereafter.

love to hear your opinion on the pow vs pos discussion.
