As per CoinGecko, it is up almost 20%, in the meantime. Upon checking further, I can not find any news regarding it. Does anyone know the reason behind it? Does Elon just playing around?

UPDATES:

A few days ago Twitter changes back its logo to the original one, the blue bird. As the hype and FOMO wind down, DOGE prices follow the sentiments. As of now, the prices lose almost 30% from the peak of the surges which is around 35% according to current CoinMarketCap data.

Based on my observation, there is not any further news about the assumed linked motive of his absurd lawsuit. Regardless the fact, I'm very sure the "mockery" surely hits the prosecutor and other parties who are in favour of it. I guess the current fate of Doge is only in the hands of big names or influencers, and I believe somewhat loses the meaning of its meme-based community owned status.

The blockchain started “forking” (creating conflicting versions of its transaction history) at around 00:53 New York time, according to Solana’s Discord server.

Barely heard the news, why is it so quiet here?

Apparently, it has been the nth time that Solana has had similar issues. Do they(communities and developers) have a lower standard compared to other altcoins? I mean it has been happening many times, have they been accustomed to such mistakes within the coin development process, so they just thought it is a normal one and getting used to it?

Solana Labs and independent validators are still investigating the root cause. However, the earliest assumption is that the downtime is linked to a recent Solana software upgrade.

The Solana Foundation released Solana 1.14 and encouraged validators to update to it. However, it appears this upgrade featured a bug that engineers didn't discover during testing. Earlier today, majority of validators had upgraded to the new software, and this may have triggered the bug which led to the underperformance.

The past incident noted the bug in the code was the culprit, this time, the cause was suspected to be the updated new version. Seems testing a system which has a $8,620,532,556 market cap on production is the way to go, isn't it?

It seems there are widespread exploit that happens within the Solana ecosystem. The causes are still unknown. A few sources I observed claim that revoking any apps from your Sol wallets doesn't help, looks like there is nothing you can do but migrate your Sol into cold storage or hardware wallet.

We spun up a Typeform to collect data and the results were clear – of those drained ~60% were Phantom users and 40% Slope users. But after extensive interviews and requests to the community, we couldn't find a single Phantom-forever user who had their wallet drained

The investigations are ongoing, and I can't stress enough the importance of creating a new seed phrase in a non-slope wallet, and moving any assets you have in a Slope hot wallet over.

Then go buy a hardware wallet.

Turns out, they'd been using their Solana BIP39 phrase in Ethereum, too! So the hacker inadvertently was able to access assets stored on ETH.

From the outside, it was indistinguishable from a supply chain attack.

We have independently confirmed that Slope’s mobile app sends off mnemonics via TLS to their centralized Sentry server.

These mnemonics are then stored in plaintext, meaning anybody with access to Sentry could access user private keys.

Slope has been very helpful in sharing data related to the hack. We received the database 4:45 PM UTC August 3rd and immediately began our investigation. The Sentry logs spanned between July 28th and August 3rd.

Approximately 1,400 of the addresses in the exploit were present in Sentry logs. Notably, this does not account for all the hacked addresses.

We are still investigating this discrepancy and possible other vectors.

There is some whale that has an enormous margin position that if it got liquidated, it will make a cascade of bad effect on Solana and their platform. So they are taking over the whale account/wallet/funds!

    5.7M SOL deposited ($170M)
    108M USDC and USDT borrowed
    25% of TVL
    95% of SOL deposits (Main Pool)
    88% of USDC borrows (Main Pool)
    A liquidation price of $22.30
    The last on-chain activity from the whale was 12 days ago

This is causing issues on the platform:

If SOL drops to $22.30, the whale's account becomes liquidatable for up to 20% of their borrows (~$21M). It'd be difficult for the market to absorb such an impact since liquidators generally market sell on DEXes. In the worst case, Solend could end up with bad debt. This could cause chaos, putting a strain on the Solana network. Liquidators would be especially active and spamming the liquidate function, which has been known to be a factor causing Solana to go down in the past. Due to concerns about risk, many users have withdrawn, causing USDC and USDT utilization in the Main Pool to spike to 100%. This means depositors can't withdraw, and positions collateralized by USDC or USDT can't be liquidated.

Any action we take (including inaction) has a set of trade offs to consider. There is no perfect solution. With that in mind, the action we believe would result in the best outcome is as follows:

    Enact special margin requirements for large whales that represent over 20% of borrows. If a user's borrows amount to over 20% of all borrows for the Main Pool, a special liquidation threshold of 35% is required. This policy will go into effect upon approval of the proposal.

    Grant emergency power to Solend Labs to temporarily take over the whale's account so the liquidation can be executed OTC and avoid pushing Solana to its limits. This would be done via a smart contract upgrade. Emergency powers will be revoked once the whale's account reaches a safe level.

Apparently, the so-called decentralized protocol is not quite decentralized at all, don't you think?

And yes, the governance already passed, with 97.5% of the platform users are agreed to take over the account.

What I found interesting is, it shows how the cryptocurrencies market easily got affected by FUD. The Litecoin prices moved significantly, while on another hand Walmart stock price is barely affected.
