1  Economy / Speculation / why are the Chinese selling all their BTC on: August 19, 2015, 12:11:48 AM
If you follow the transactions most of the selling and buying [not so much] are coming from China.  Whats going on over their this morning that has caused this sell-off?
2  Economy / Computer hardware / where are all the s3's, c1's, sp10's and sp20's on: July 28, 2015, 02:36:19 AM
I noticed that over the last two weeks or so, the every day posts of people selling s3's, c1's and the spondoolies family have dwindled to nothing.  Have some megafarm snatched them all up?

For that matter I noticed even the prices for this sort of equipment on eBay has gone up in price as well.

What did I miss??

3  Economy / Economics / if buying 100 BTC doesn't get the price to go up then what will on: June 26, 2015, 11:10:51 PM
I have been monitoring buys and sells at:

http://bitcointicker.co/dashboard/

for a few days.

Just a short while I ago...I saw a buy for 100 BTC.  The price didn't even jump UP.

What will it take for the price to climb??

What am I missing??

4  Bitcoin / Mining / difference between kilowatt and kilowatt per hour on: June 06, 2015, 02:33:27 AM
I received a rate schedule from a power provider.

There are two charges.

demand charge per kilowatt: $1.71
electric charge $.05 per Kwh

I have determined that "per hour" am doing about 5 kilowatts at the moment.

Can you tell me how I figure my monthly charge with that demand line?

Without the demand line I am figuring that my electric bill would be $180 a month.  Is my math correct?

thank you in advance for your thoughts.

5  Bitcoin / Hardware / my c1 sprung a leak on: May 30, 2015, 10:10:51 PM
Hi All,

I found that my c1 was leaking coolant so investigated further and found that its one of the black plugs on the bottom on the end.

Is this cover or plug replaceable?  If so, where can I find one?  I have the unit off until I can get this rubber plug/cover replaced or repaired.

thanks for all your suggestions.

6  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / hydro price per kwh on: May 26, 2015, 05:45:38 PM
hi,

I probably could search this on the forum but the search system is still down after the hack...so my apologies for asking this.  I hope I get some real world answers.

What sort of price per kilowatt hour should I expect to pay if my power is coming from pure Hydro.  I am not looking at the delivery piece just the supply piece.

For those who get their power by Hydro - thanks for answering up.

12  Economy / Service Discussion / ButterCoin or Coinbase on: December 28, 2014, 05:13:19 PM
I just heard about ButterCoin - with next day deposits to our Bank Account and until the end of the year no fees.

Still, which does everyone prefer?

buttercoin

coinbase

something else?  and what is that something else?

Thanks.
13  Bitcoin / Hardware / UPS backup on an s2 on: December 04, 2014, 08:56:21 PM
My power has been abit erratic lately with quick bursts of outages. My concern that as winter continues to roll in more quick flickers of outages will occur. The s2 doesn't always reboot properly - I think its more a function of the power supply that BitMain used than anything.  In order to keep the s2 alive I would like to install a UPS on it.

Any recommendations on the specific model from say APC ?

14  Economy / Economics / selling my mined btc for euro instead of usd on: November 20, 2014, 06:17:58 PM

15  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / bitcoin core crashes at startup loading addresses on: October 11, 2014, 01:19:55 AM
Hi,

My v0.9.3 app on WinXP crashes frequently if I leave it running too long.  Recently that has been the case, now I can't even get the app to finishing booting up.  ....even after I have rebooted the computer.

Basically the Bitcoin Core crashes when the startup box is up and says "loading addresses".

What solutions are out there to get this resolved?

Thanks in advance.

18  Bitcoin / Hardware / s2 reboot default reset and bestshare on: July 16, 2014, 01:42:06 PM
Hoping for some constructive thoughts regarding an interesting string of events that occurred last night.

Last night I noticed on my s2 that one card was full of x's.  The temps all across the machine seemed to be in line with what they had been for the last week or so.  I went ahead and rebooted the s2 through the GUI.  The unit did come back up using the IP address that I had previously set it to but rather it came back with the default .99 address.  Once I got back into the box I noticed that it had been completed "factory defaulted".  I changed the IP address and rebooted the box again.  I also had to reset my Pool information as well which I did after I rebooted.

The card has all 0's and it seems to be working now except that the "Bestshare" still says 0.

Any thoughts about the factory reset as well as the Bestshare would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.
19  Bitcoin / Hardware / Antminer s1 chain number or board on: June 24, 2014, 04:50:37 PM

20  Economy / Computer hardware / Antminer s2 kit on: May 31, 2014, 09:12:23 PM
I noticed today that Antminer is now selling an s2 "kit".

Surely the kit will cut down on their shipping cost and labor time for assembly.

I am curious how the market feels about having to build your own box.

What sort of PSU would you use and do you plan on installing the kit into a case as well?
