1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Europe's First Blockchain-Powered Security Exchange on: March 22, 2024, 06:11:56 PM

In 2020 Dusk become large (up to 10%) shareholder of NPEX. Right after they started partnership period which included developing innovative financial pilot projects and at the time it was obvious that they were experimenting with dusk tech. Even though mainnet wasn't ready yet.

Now they announced that they have official agreement of that exchange and incentivized test net period is over as they are preparing to launch the mainnet.

So if you don't know anything about Dusk, here's my summary, of what has happened so far:

Dusk has been been building a privacy preserving and EU regulatory compliant blockchain for security exchange, which i admit thought was an impossible job because of MICA, FATF travel rule, AML laws and EU regulations in general. But looks like they have found a ways to tackle with all the hurdles. I have to admit that most of the tech goes over my head and i haven't studied how they did their "Citadel" (zero-knowledge KYC solution), yet, but i've been waiting for that tech for a long time, and most likely most of us have because of all the hacks and leaks and stolen personal information on centralized crypto exchanges.

And by "security exchange", i mean actual security exchange, powered by blockchain where you can trade, issue and own actual stocks and regulated instruments. Not just synthetics that others are playing with and calling them RWAs.

At the time of writing dusk has $174,7M marketcap, so do your math on what's happening next.

2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Let's talk about SOL resilience for recent market correction on: March 15, 2024, 12:51:58 PM
I find it really interesting that recent BTC flash crash (or dip/correction if you rather call it that) that just happened crashed nearly all the altcoins with it, except SOL and JUP (sol based swap). While they dipped as well, it was nothing compared to rest of the market.

It could fall later for sure, but i doubt it will crash as hard because i can't recall seeing anything like this during bullmarket corrections and this could attract other investors that have been overlooked SOL until now.

Reason for this dump was supposedly the fact that someone moved 4637 btc to binance, and even without selling them, it would cause some people start selling.

I would imagine other people have been wondering this too, so what's your theory for SOL? Other then it's a best coin ever or something like that.
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Bitconned on: February 09, 2024, 11:33:17 PM
I just watched Bitconned, a netflix documentary about scammers behind Centra.

Even though main characters behind it were easy to really hate and loath deeply, as they were obnoxius born rich kids, full of themselves, proud to be criminals, self entitled and borderline narcissists.

And while it's infuriating to watch these people brag, and it's like a flashback from every scam i ever saw, it's also one of the best documentaries from that crazy time of ico frenzy and summarizes the whole craziness of it, and it doesn't underestimate people who watch it. It's honest and accurate. It's also fulfilling to watch how that scam unfolds and gets busted, and it's pretty interesting to see the world from the point of scammers. And luckily it's not only those annoying rich scammers they are interviewing.

Guys like these with nonsense scam projects are one of the reasons why crypto is having a bad rep, not meme tokens like pepe. Thet don't come even close to this.

Trailer:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UDqRvMmuUcU

But even though this was one crazy scam, i would rather see protagonists of a documentary somewhat relatable, that they would be interesting outcasts and underdogs, or at least so weird like crypto couple that hacked bitfinex. That story seems to have really weird background. Or movie from Ben Mezrich's book Bitcoin Billionaires. At least the book was rather good.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / What are the last places to cash out amonymously or pseudonymously in EU? on: January 19, 2024, 11:58:16 AM
I don't think this would even work with huge amounts, but i am talking about $1000 - 50k transactions to cash or cash equivalent.

Current tight AML laws made it sure that evading regulations became harder. Privacy coins are being delisted, mixers banned, crypto ATMs, at least in finland require KYC, so what's left? Are people still tradning person to person. I know they are lending usdt etc but to cash money <-> crypto without kyc? Localbitcoins used to have pseudonymous accounts but now they require kyc as well.

At some point you had an opportunity to buy pay cards for google play, paysafecards and buy stuff with those. Are those still not requiring kyc to buy?
Because those seem to be options that scammers at least are still using while pretending to be mircosoft helpdesk or what ever.

I am guessing that one of more  some of the scammers operate with stolen KYC that most likely becomes

Disclaimer: I don't need this kind of service, i am just interested if this is still possible, and with how large amounts?

5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Binance has to pay $4.3 bn fines in US on: November 22, 2023, 10:33:21 AM
So, this is freaking huge event.

Binance has been found guilty for money laundering and has to pay $4.3 Billion USD in penalties.

CZ has been found guilty and resigned from CEO position. Now he is out with a bail.

People seem to be unsure how this affects, but i for example am confused how fast this got solved.

So what do you people think? Is this bullish or bearish? Boxmining in youtube seems to be bullish, but that's what crypto hypers often do.
Everything needs to be bullish, even if that means being in denial, because they get their livinghood from bullish people.

Was this something we need for growth in a long run? Does binance have liquidity for penalties if there will be a bank run from there? Is CZ going to same jail with SBF?

Markets are dumping BNB, even though they are pretty careful so far, as it's only -9.25% in 1 day.

I would think that shorting bnb could be a smart call after the panic starts. And it takes some time, but if binance needs to liquidate alts and btc. Everything is going down for sure.

6  Economy / Gambling discussion / Sports betting strategies on: November 12, 2023, 11:40:16 PM
I've been recently trying live betting, with a strategy of betting for winners after a quick evaluation of how is the game going, and how much of it is left to play. I am accepting even smallest multipliers like 1.05+ if i am quite certain i would win. I've done many of them for few days now and so far i've been happy for my system, and i already have 3x my initial starting bet.

But i can't help wonder if i am making some noob errors that come back to bite me later. As i know that there are no 100% safe winning, i think i will start losing at some point, and with small multipilers, all it takes is few losses to get back to where i started from. I am quite noob at this so i am probably doing every newbie mistake.

So i wanted to ask from experienced gamblers here, who make live bets; how do you choose your bets and what kind of bets are you preferring (other then betting for winners).

Also are there some good tips on how to make most of from those? Because to someone less informed like myself, most of the other kind of bets seem like shots in the dark. I am assuming that there are more profitable strategies. Like what kind of other bets are worth looking into?
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Binance Shuts down their Visa Debit Cards in Europe on: October 20, 2023, 11:07:06 PM
Binance just announced that their visa debit cards will stop working in Europe after 20. December 2023.

Accounts (even in in EU) are still safe, it's just their handy visa payment method that needs more alternatives to fill the gap. Crypto.com card keeps still working in EU, which makes me think that they are just after binance now. If i needed to give an educated guess, i would guess that binance might have made it harder for them to track down users. And since their actions and userbase is too opaque, eu kicks their cards out.

I am sensing more regulatory issues coming up as this is clearly just a one symptom of something bigger.

8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Thodex cryptocurrency boss jailed for 11,196 years in Turkey for fraud on: September 12, 2023, 02:31:24 PM
Hilarious summary or the defence:
Quote from: bbc
Faruk Fatih Ozer, 29, fled to Albania in 2021 with investor assets after his Thodex exchange suddenly collapsed.

He was extradited back to Turkey in June and found guilty of money-laundering, fraud and organised crime.

Ozer told the court he would "not have acted so amateurishly" if his intent was criminal, state media reported.

"I am smart enough to lead any institution on Earth," the Anadolu agency quoted him as saying.

"That is evident in this company I established at the age of 22."
So, basically man claims to be such a genius that we should believe he can pull a better heist than this, but at the same time we should believe that he is such an amateur that he fails to run a generic crypto exchange and loses all the assetes. And being such a genius he goes and gets caught by interpol from albania

Prosecutors asked for 40,562 year sentence so i guess THAT was ridiculous, unlike 11,196 years which is totally sensible.
It might not be enough, but it sets an example. I might have a personal issue with scamming crypto scammers as i've seen those people ruining so many lives in this scene.

But he is a first timer, so maybe he sits only half of it.

9  Economy / Gambling discussion / UFC Fight Night: Gane vs. Spivac - AI prediction on: September 01, 2023, 09:43:23 AM
AI prediction of 2.9.2023 UFC Fight Night

After ChatGPT came out, i've seen some threads about AI and if it could help in gambling.
Back then, AI:s couln't access to internet so they couldn't find latest stats to compare, but now it's a whole new ball game.
While i am highly skeptical about results i thought i might give it a go to try it.

I admit that this is a fraction of any sample size that would be needed to come to any conclusion if it's working but i thought it would be fun little experiment.

I chose Bing AI chat creative mode as my tool, as it seems to be most efficient free tool for this kind of stuff. I tried also google bard, while it had some insightful opinions about some matches, it didn't have any data about most of the fighters so it couln't make any predictions. Basically my prompt for ai was "if these two would fight, who would win and how, and can you give me details how you came that conclusion"

I haven't check if the data is legit, as AI's have an issue of inventing things that doesn't exist (lying), you should take the results with the grain of salt. Prediictions doubly so. I myself did some small multi bets from these predicions. Not too much because i don't want to trust my money on this silly experiment, but some to have some skin in the game.

Full details were too long and specific to post in here, they contained links to articles, records and statistics, fighting styles, advantages and disadvantages, etc, so i asked it to summarize it for me afterwards. But i put links to original long answers and they are most interesting part of this and definitely worth checking out.

Links to full, detailed answer won't work immediately, you have to wait after a click a bit for them to appear in bing search page.

I will update the results next to prediction recap at the end to see if any of these were even remotely correct. I'll do it Sunday, as i am offline whole Saturday.

But here we go; summarized predictions about that fight night ->

Bing AI:

- Zarah Fairn and Jacqueline Cavalcanti are both bantamweight fighters who have never fought each other before.
- Zarah Fairn is a tall and powerful striker who has a record of 6-5, but she has lost to some of the top featherweights in the UFC and missed weight in her last fight.
- Jacqueline Cavalcanti is a well-rounded fighter who has a record of 5-1, and she has shown impressive performances in various promotions, such as LFA, UAE Warriors, and PFL.
- I think Cavalcanti would win over Fairn by using her speed, versatility, and conditioning. She would be able to avoid Fairn's strikes, take her down, and finish her with a TKO or a submission.

- Loughran is the current Cage Warriors Bantamweight Champion who has a record of 8-0-0. He is a powerful striker who has won five of his eight fights by knockout.
- I think that Lapilus has a slight edge over Loughran in this fight because he has more experience, more tools, and home advantage.
- I predict that Lapilus will win the fight by unanimous decision after three rounds of action. He will outpoint Loughran on the feet and avoid his submissions on the ground.

- Charriere has more experience, wins, and skills than Zecchini. He has never been knocked out or submitted.
- Zecchini is also a good striker, but he has less diversity and defense. He has been knocked out and submitted once.
- I think Charriere will win by KO/TKO in the second or third round, but Zecchini could also surprise him. Both fighters are talented and motivated.

- I think William Gomis will win the fight against Yanis Ghemmouri by knockout or decision.
- Gomis has more experience, power, reach, and versatility than Ghemmouri.
- Ghemmouri is a good grappler, but he will not be able to overcome Gomis's striking and defense.

- Spivac is a rising contender who is good at grappling, wrestling, and durability. He has 15 wins and 2 losses.
- The fight could end in different ways depending on their skills and strategies. Some possible outcomes are:
    - Gane wins by knockout or decision using his striking and movement.
    - Spivac wins by submission or decision using his wrestling and grappling.
    - The fight ends in a draw or a no contest due to an even match or an unforeseen event.
- This is not a prediction or a recommendation, but only a summary of some information I have found on the web. The actual outcome may vary.

Link to full, detailed answer

As i asked for best guess, bing refused to take a guess, so i started a new session, where it for some reason guessed:

Quote
Ciryl Gane is the favorite to win the fight against Serghei Spivac. He has better speed, striking, and defense than Spivac.
Serghei Spivac is the underdog in the fight. He has good grappling, wrestling, and submission skills. He has never been knocked out in his career.
I think Ciryl Gane would win the fight by knockout or decision, but Serghei Spivac could also surprise him with his ground game and chin.

I double checked with Google Bard AI and it agrees -> https://g.co/bard/share/9b83e86ea5b8

10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Inferno Drainer on: August 29, 2023, 01:32:39 PM
So, could we talk about for a moment about Inferno Drainer. For you who are unaware about it, it's a scam-as-a-service (SaaS).

At the time of writing, number of total victims is 81,182 and total amount of stolen money is $35,978,485 so it's not a tiny problem.
It started this year and has been a quickly growing scam industry. Majority of stolen assets have been from ETH chain

Data from Scamsniffer - Dune

This service provides users with a code that enables them to steal crypto, and service providers take 20% of the stolen loot.
Morals aside, i admit giving a free updated scamming software is an ingenious business model for criminals, if you don't count the fact it's highly immoral and evil.

You might have seen scammers (newb users) using this even in bitcointalk, linking fake websites that looks like legit known sites. Like paypal, exchanges, or airdrops etc. And those pages are offering to link your metamask, or asking login credentials or even a seed phrases. And moment you give any of them you'll obviously get your money stolen.

So, let's talk. Where do you stand on this? Are you tempted to use this highly illegal service to scam people? Do you have high enough morals not to? Or would you use if you knew you didn't get caught?

Source article is from earlier this year when only 16% of current amount were stolen: https://drops.scamsniffer.io/post/5-9-million-stolen-by-scam-as-a-service-provider-called-inferno-drainer/

11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / SBF's brother wanted to buy Pacific island nation of Nauru for apocalypse bunker on: August 16, 2023, 11:21:57 AM
There's a weird story i totally missed in Sam Bankman-Fried's case, and that is the fact that the lawsuit against SBF, includes a memo that detailed plans to purchase a whole country with money from FTX to build a shelter that could withheld an apocalyptic event.

Now, one could argue there's more than one use cases for owning your own sovereign nation. Especially when the nation is already blacklisted internationally because of their blatant money laundering for super rich. If FTX (or sam) indeed managed to buy this island before it came cashing down, how much of different situation they would be facing right now?

12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / How do you choose altcoins you buy? on: May 17, 2023, 02:43:47 PM
I've been around for a while so my tactic has varied a lot. I have choosen my coins and tokens by the fact they have:

Real world use case: When i came in i was told buy coins with actual real world use case. I tried to find those but so far i haven't found any real world adoption for anything other than permissionless transfer of wealth that's been done with bitcoin from the start. Maybe some smart contracts can be useful but they have not been adopted in any significant scale. There's potential in many of them, but most of them are now going to be adopted ever. And even their devs know this, yet they can't really say it as they want to sell their snake oil. I a still looking for even one that might be adopted.

Good tokenomics: This i am still using as a reason to buy. Issuance rate needs to be sustainable, and distribution needs to be wide and fair. Marketcap needs to be low enough if we are not talking about the coins that already have the necessary net effect to attract developers and keep on growing more.

Team: I find this most important, without good team that knows their stuff you are destined to fail. In ideal case i choose professionals that are transparent and know what they are doing. They have coders in lead, their own legal team, and regular amas. Needless to say that i want everyone doxxed. So far every coin or token with anon devs that i have bought have vanished.

Right size marketcap: Most money i have made in this game is by finding suitable microcaps, like under $100k. If conditions are right, they can something like to 500k and above really fast, and i can take like 70% of my investment out potentially very fast. Rest of them stay for moonshot. But as a disclaimer i would like to say that while microcaps have have technically most room to grow, they also have highest changes of being rug pulls or slow rug pulls.

Trusting a tip from a friend: For some weird reason my newb friends have found some gems. They don't even necessary understand what marketcap means or how to do research. They might have bought because they liked the name. I see no reason buying them but they are making a killng with them. These days i throw some money on what ever they say. That might not be smart but i might as well.

Aping in to just tokens that has just been released: By doing this i don't have even the time to do decent research. I try to look everything as fast as i can and hope for the best. With this tactic i have found my best micro caps. I have also been bought into some instant rug pulls.
13  Economy / Gambling discussion / Question about slot machines and RTP on: May 16, 2023, 09:02:49 PM
So, there are 2 slot machines, they are pretty much identical:

This one has RTP of 96.50%This one has RTP of 98%

I was a fan of Sugar Rush before Sugar twist came. It's still quite new but it has the same music and prizes, bonuses etc are totally identical.

So i think i have totally misunderstood something about RTP since sugar rush seems to be more popular and i can't figure out why would anyone ever choose sugar rush over almost identical slot with higher RTP.

How does the Pragmatic Play benefits from this? Are they just hoping that people won't notice and play the old one or something?
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Sushiswap hacked on: April 09, 2023, 08:56:33 AM
You know we have already seen the bottom on altcoin bear market when Sushiswap gets hacked and no one even cares that they get exploited. Imho weak hands are out and from the technical side i think we can rise any time now.

Quote
Decentralized exchange SushiSwap has fallen victim to an exploit, which led to the loss of more than $3.3 million from at least one user, known as 0xSifu on Twitter.

The exploit involves an approve-related bug on the RouterProcessor2 contract — which PeckShield and SushiSwap Head Chef Jared Grey recommend revoking on all chains.
Source: https://www.theblock.co/post/225473/sushiswap-hack

But on the other hand my question is, how many dex hacks there needs to be until you would accept that current tech isn't even near for wide adoption? As we have all the responsibility of our money, even in cases of DEX hacks, how in the million years this tech would be adopted by anyone else then experimental libertarians?
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Bithumb CEO arrested on: February 02, 2023, 02:28:25 PM
Is one of the centralized exchanges in trouble again? CEO is arrested because he was embezzling $50M worth of money but can it go down like because users and partners would panic and withdraw their funds and partnerships? Are they solvent enough for that? Or is the owner just going to be voted out from the CEO position as he has only 34.2% stake in it and everything goes on like nothing happened?

What do you think?

So, Mister "I have only $100k" got just another $50M seized by procecutors from a small bank.

Now what i am wondering is that is this the last nail for SBH's credibility as he just clearly lied about not having money. Or will there be more to come?
There's still money missing, so where is it? And how wasn't injecting $50 million to small bank suspicious and biggest red flag to regulators? Or were they paid off to look another way?
I am starting to have hard time to have any sympathy left for SBF

I never asked for followers or tried to gain them, i am a lazy tweeter and i assume that people keep following me just because of my handle

It's followed by BoredApeYC and SuperRare to name a few and i am not selling it under $2k $300 + Escrow fee
Pm me, or reply in here if you are newb and can't pm use pm in twitter or msg me in telegram, my nick is @Defenro.

I accept bitcoin, usdt, mature top martketcap altcoins and some relevant nfts as a payment. We can discuss about nfts in pm.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Who are responsible for the bear run on: December 12, 2022, 12:10:06 PM
When people say that FTX was the worst thing that happened to crypto in the long time, maybe we should back up and get some perspective on that. Things were already messed up. As in comparison, total crypto marketcap was thriving during covid and recovered almost instantly to ATH after tesla dumped their crypto. But LUNA was the thing that broke everything. FTX was nothing compared to that.

Do Kwon is still on the run in Serbia of all places, except he denies being on the run. I am guessing he chose Serbia because they don't have an extradition treaty with South Korea, but that seems pointless when he is internationally wanted by Interpol now. So it's a matter of time before he gets caught.

But while running, Do Kwon, Su Zhu (founder of 3 arrow capital) are blaming SBF and even US Federal Prosecutors are investigating SBH for his involvement in the UST crash.

Now i would like to very much like to blame Kwon for UST as he was warned several times about issues with it but he was just too arrogant and annoying to take the threat seriously.  But if SBF had anything to do with this, then not only is he blamed for FTX crash and bear run after that, but he just might be the man behind the WHOLE current crypto downfall.

19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / CZ dumping FTT on: November 06, 2022, 11:23:07 PM
I am sensing that something is up, CZ just told everyone that they will be dumping their FTT tokens

It might be nothing and totally normal but i find the wording a little concerning. "Risk management" and "learning from luna". At least they are transparent of it, probably required by lawyers to be transparent but still i find this unusual.

I have been in crypto scene for a long time and i really do get paranoid every time something unusual happens that involves some CEX. I do trust FTX and use it a lot but something tells me that i shouldn't keep money in there right now. At least for a while. This is not fud at all, i am just concerned user and would like to see FTT rise and FTX blossom.

So how do you see this affecting the ftt price?
20  Economy / Speculation / Is hodling top 10 Marketcap coins a good tactic? on: October 28, 2022, 12:37:32 AM

Investing to top marketcap coins

Investment advice you hear in crypto a lot is "Just HODL". And if you ask what bags to hodl, most people will point to bitcoin and other top marketcap coins.

In this topic i made few portfolios to check out how it would have played out if you had put $1000 dollars ($100 per coin) to top 10 marketcap coins years ago and just holded them.

I am not including buy fees into this or staking possibilities, nor i am counting possible fork rewards. Also i am removing all the stablecoins for obvious reason. Current data snapshot was recorded at the time of writing (28.10.2022)

As you see, some of the coins didn't really make it.
Granted that some of the coins weren't really high marketcap in the first place, even though they were top coins at the time.
(well except from bitconnect but that's whole another story)
My personal bet is that you could still 10x your $100 with top mc coins with this tactic in the future but that it wouldn't really bring you financial freedom if you are poor in the first place.

With small amount of money to invest ($100), you are better off finding micro/low/mid marketcap gems that has room to grow. And hodl
There's a high change that you might lose it all when you buy wrong shady low caps,
but as it's only $100 you are gambling with, possibility of high gains outweigh the high risk imho
Because your while your 24.10.2020 bitcoin investment is now up under 60%,
consider being exremely lucky and finding microcap like shiba inu at the same time, and that you threw $100 to it instead....

Again i am not counting fees but price per coin was $0.000000000168 and with that you would have got 595,238,095,238 SHIB...
That's now worth over $6M and in 29.10.2021 it peaked in bloody $40M!!!
And as history is that while most coins die, lot of the huge ATHs are small blips next to new ATHs in retrospect so hodling is most of the time the way to go, it just depends a lot what the fundamentals of the coin you hodl happen to be
...Anyway, as this advice (invest to top coins) has worked quitew well in the past.
I wanted to try and see if it would work now and i made new portfolio for 24.10.2022 top mc coins:

So here are top ten mc coins in 24.10.2022!:
BTC, ETH, BNB, XRP, ADA, SOL, DOGE, MATIC, DOT, TRX
I am hoping that there's a change we all might still get rich with this tactic
and just by hodling. So let's wait and see. Good luck everyone.
