1  Economy / Computer hardware / [WTB] GPUs on: November 27, 2021, 01:16:43 PM
Looking for RTX 30 Series GPUs and RX 6xxx series GPUs. Do offer me your best price, both LHR and non-LHR are fine.
2  Economy / Computer hardware / [WTB] 1080TI Hybrid Cooler on: June 14, 2021, 03:01:18 PM
I'm looking to purchase an EVGA GTX 1080TI Hybrid cooler, more specifically: EVGA GTX 1080 Ti SC2 Hybrid Gaming iCX (11G-P4-6598).

The cooler on it has unfortunately failed and I don't want to risk modding it to fit a different AIO. I'm open to any reasonable offers, looking for that specific AIO cooler and shroud only.
3  Other / Meta / HTTP ERROR 403 on: January 11, 2021, 01:57:02 PM
I've been getting a bunch of error 403 when opening the pages in a new tab. I've tried clearing cache and it still persists. Is it a forum-wide issue or is it just me?
4  Bitcoin / Electrum / Electrum 2FA on: December 13, 2020, 03:37:42 PM
This is not a topic about how to do 2FA, how it works etc etc. I'm talking about the efficacy of 2FA with TrustedCoin in preventing users' funds from getting compromised by a malicious party.

As a starter, 2FA by TrustedCoin incurs extra fees through both the larger TX size as well as their fees to be charged for the transactions signed by them. The benefits of TrustedCoin, however isn't exactly clear. On one hand, it would prevent attacks if the attacker is in control of the system for short periods of time and if the attacker doesn't install malware on it's computer. If the computer gets compromised by malware, the OTP that could be captured can be used to get TrustedCoin to sign an alternate transaction. It seems feasible in theory but I've yet to see anyone done it.

In addition, if the malware existed since the creation of the wallet, the 2FA would be totally useless. Does the 2FA in Electrum provide a false sense of security to the user or is there an actual use case that would justify the fees that TrustedCoin receives for their service?

Just some thoughts since Electrum's docs specifically mentions
adding another level of security in the event of your computer being compromised
. And a lot of newbies has been using 2FA and having quite some trouble with it as well.
5  Economy / Computer hardware / [WTB] GPU on: November 28, 2020, 04:16:55 AM
I'm looking for 1x GPU in the ball park of 300USD or so. I can definitely go higher depending on the model, condition of the GPU etc. PM me your offers.
6  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / ColdCard vs Ledger on: November 21, 2020, 08:06:32 AM
I'm currently using a Raspberry Pi as my primary cold storage, airgapped with Electrum. Don't get me wrong, it's a $35 set up and it provides reasonable safeguards against non-physical attacks (and I don't hold lots of Bitcoins).

I'm considering to get a ColdCard as well, it looks great and I liked the simplicity of the design. However, given the hefty price tag and the functions, I'm not sure if I want to splurge that much money for something that I don't exactly need right now. I can't exactly find recent reviews within the forum on MK3 as well. Would like to gather some inputs from the community between CC Mk3 and Ledger.

Ps. I know that any hardware wallet would be more secure than an air gapped RPI so please don't spam the thread up with that.
7  Other / Meta / Echo? on: September 25, 2020, 11:54:52 AM
There's a strange message at the top of Bitcointalk:
echo ''; echo ''; echo '';

Is it a local issue? Or is it a problem with the rendering of the page by Chrome? Tried clearing cache and cookies but it's still the same.
8  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Multisig with a twist on: September 15, 2020, 08:33:59 AM
I vaguely recall years ago, I stumbled upon a topic for a discussion on how Multisig could be scripted such that:

There are 3 keys for 2 of 3 multisig, A, B and C. A is the master key and its signature is required such that the transaction is invalid without its signature. (or something similar)

I was pretty intrigued by the scripting of the redeem script at that time but I lost the link to it. I've been trying to find that topic for the past week but I can't seem to find it anywhere. Can someone direct me to it?
9  Other / Meta / PM Search on: August 25, 2020, 02:14:03 PM
I know this is a weird content to be posting since I've been using the forum for so long..  Cheesy

Is there a way to search for PM's specifically from a user? I've tried leaving the Search For: field blank but it wouldn't search at all. Putting an asterisk in the field wouldn't work either. I've been scouring the PMs manually in the past but it's pretty time consuming.
10  Bitcoin / Electrum / Removing a transaction from Electrum on: July 19, 2020, 04:54:03 AM
Is there any way for me to remove an entire unconfirmed transaction from Electrum?

I'm trying to do a RBF but adding another UTXO at the same time. AFAIK, Electrum doesn't specifically allow inclusion of additional inputs in the replacement transaction. Of course, I can just craft my own raw TX but I'm wondering if there's any method to do it from the GUI.
11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Full node info page on: May 28, 2020, 01:07:04 PM
I'm trying to set up my own Bitcoin node with another (quite underpowered) dedicated server I just bought. I'm looking for some script to display the statistics of my node (mempool data, traffic etc). Is there any lightweight scripts that does this easily?

I'm looking for cheap and quiet ASIC miners to keep as a hobby in my apartment. They must be relatively quiet, the hash rate doesn't really matter all that much.

Ranochigo's Service

I'm offering a service to purchase items on Amazon for 15% off the price (only physical items, no Visa cards etc). I'm using my personal Amazon account to purchase the goods and it will be shipped within the US using Amazon Prime (free 2 day shipping). If you are shipping it out of US, you will have to pay me the import fees and the shipping fees.

All you have to do is to make a wishlist and attach your address to it. Send me your wishlist and I'll purchase it for you. I accept escrow and you have to pay the escrow fees.

*That goes without saying; the funds are 100% clean and legal. I've gotten the GC balance for my Prime Day purchase and I've got loads left over.
