1  Bitcoin / Mining / Mining Facility container or hangar / Staff / Monitoring questions on: February 09, 2023, 10:05:24 PM
Hi everyone,

I'm thinking running a hosting facility as I have access to very cheap elec (1cts $/KWH). I have approx 2MW available now and probably more, elec is from grid. I have a 800m² hangar nearby the transformer + 3000m² open air secured property.

I was wondering what is the best option. Should I run couple of "ready to go" mining containers  or is it better for me to set up the hangar as a mining place and run the miners inside the hangar?

Also 2MW is approx 650 S19 miners. Do you guys have an idea how many staff 650 Asic require in terms of basic hosting?

Last but not least, what SaaS/app a mining facility is using for their client to monitore the miners?

Many thanks for your feedback,

L

2  Bitcoin / Mining / Mining Facility Spec question on: December 12, 2022, 11:00:44 AM
Hi everyone,

I need some advices from the experienced miners here running their own mining facility.

I have the opportunity to get a warehouse with a surface of 90m².
I got two windows on each side of this warehouse where I can create an airflow.
Power available is 350KW

I plan to run there approx 100 S19
Yearly temperature variation lowest 0 up to 15 degrees max

Do you guys think 90m² is enough space for 100 S19? or is it too small?

Also, regarding the mainboard, should I install a 16A breaker for each S19 or a 32A breaker for each 2?

Many thanks guys,

L
3  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / BTC Mining OS on: October 13, 2022, 09:33:14 AM
Hey guys,

I'm about to finalize a small data center a bit distant from my place (900km).

I will have a local guy to reboot and halt gears when it's needed.

What OS do you guys recommend for managing Asics by distance?

Many thanks,

L
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Miner/algo choice for a 120KW premise on: March 06, 2022, 12:00:12 AM
Hi guys,

I have an opportunity to rent a secured premise with 120KW available at cheap electricity price (0,03€/KWH) + ventilations +  good rental conditions.

As available power is limited I'm still questionning myself what strategy in terms of choice or the miner/algo I should adopt.

Should I go 100% SHA256 with brand new S19PROs as it's BTC so the risk is pretty limited even with the coming bear market?

Or should I go with a mixed of new miners such as Scrypt / Blake 256?

Or should I go with a mix of used miners to ROI my miners investment asap?

Thanks for your helps guys,

5  Bitcoin / Mining / Asics + 4G internet / Is this working? on: August 24, 2021, 01:26:52 PM
Hi guys,

Have you guys ever try to mine with couple of asics connected to the Internet via 4G phone network.

Is it reliable long term or some issues are to be expected and this is not a viable option?

Many thanks for your feedbacks.

7  Bitcoin / Mining / Small EU Farm Project / Staff to recruit on: August 04, 2021, 02:46:58 PM
Hi guys,

I'm from EU and electricity is pretty expensive here. I'm mining at home with 20+ asics now and pretty happy of the returns despite a 0,16€/KWH.
With a friend who is mining at home aswell we want to scale up to a small farm and I've finally managed to find a great elec deal (0,07€/KWH / 1MW) + warehouse but the issue is this place is 2h flight from where I live.

I'm seriously thinking to move on and launch this farm at this location just for my friend & I and maybe other miners.
The warehouse is fine, with cold air, secured with 24 hours guards on site. Just need to hire one or two tech to run the place. I'm just not sure what type of tech I need to recruit. I'm thinking a basic level of IT knowledge & network but maybe I'm wrong because a farm with 300+ Asic is not the same story to run compared to a basement home farm.
Same regarding electricity, as it's a gonna be more "industrial mining" does recruiting a elec tech make sense?

I would be more than happy to get your return of experiences and feelings about that?

Many thanks,

8  Bitcoin / Mining / World Hashrate map / Miners / Bitcoin on: July 30, 2021, 10:39:11 AM
Hi guys, hope you're enjoying your Friday.

I'm looking for an interactive map in order to estimate the number of BTC miners / farms per country. Do you know if a such map exist?

I found out this map => https://chainbulletin.com/bitcoin-mining-map/
But it seems it's tied up with pools and not miners directly.

Thanks for your feebacks.

9  Bitcoin / Mining / Why so few mining farms in NORWAY on: July 19, 2021, 01:55:48 PM
Hi everyone,

I was wondering why there's so few mining farms over Norway while this country has 95% "Green" hydro energy + very cheap kWh (around 3,5 to 4 cts€/kWh).

So far the only mining farm running there is this shady one => https://new-mining.co (with very few information of who is running the project / no page with a brief description of the team / no linkedin profiles etc).

Do you guys have an idea why so few mining farm project is this country despite the very competitive kWh cost? Extra taxes maybes?

Thanks for your feedbacks.
