The Enforcement Directorate has filed a chargesheet against businessman Raj Kundra, accusing him of being a beneficial owner of 285 Bitcoins worth Rs 150.47 crore received from late crypto-scam mastermind Amit Bhardwaj.

The chargesheet, filed before a special Prevention of Money Laundering Act court, states that Kundra concealed crucial evidence and failed to surrender the Bitcoins.The ED claims Kundra remains in possession and enjoyment of the proceeds of crime in the form of Bitcoins. The agency alleges he conducted a transaction with his actor wife Shilpa Shetty at below market rate to disguise funds obtained through criminal activities.

The money laundering case originates from FIRs filed by Maharashtra and Delhi police against Variable Tech Private Limited and several individuals including Amit Bhardwaj, Ajay Bhardwaj, Vivek Bhardwaj, Simpy Bhardwaj, and Mahender Bhardwaj.According to the ED, the promoters promised investors huge returns in crypto assets through Bitcoin mining but instead cheated them and concealed the ill-gotten Bitcoins in obscure online wallets.

One of the most startling discoveries came from Mirdodi in Siddipet district in Telangana. Investigators expected to meet a high-roller investor who had allegedly purchased cryptocurrency worth Rs 9.5 crore via Binance.Instead, they found S Narasimha, a farmer working in his paddy field, completely unaware that his name had been linked to such a massive trade.

Similarly, a food delivery boy, Shiva Pamula from Khammam rural mandal, was shown to have carried out trades worth Rs 8.5 crore, despite working for a delivery platform and having no means to make such investments.
Investigators now suspect a larger identity theft racket, where PAN cards and personal details of ordinary individuals are being used to mask high-value crypto trades.

• the us government has proposed a $100,000 fee for new h-1b visa
• getting h1b is not guaranteed,, there’s a lottery system if [applications > quota] & even after selection, the petition can still be denied
• that $100,000 fee is non-refundable. if your application fails, the money is gone
• btc price atm is  $115,692; so $100,000 buys about 0.86 bitcoin
• very few people hold a full bitcoin & owning 0.86 btc is almost as rare as holding 1
• bitcoin sits safely in your wallet; it doesn’t depend on employer sponsorship, approvals, or government policies
• while h1b may open a career path in the usa, it comes with uncertainty, waiting, and bureaucracy

for me personally,, if i were deciding between paying $100K for the h1b visa or buying 0.86 btc with that money, i’d buy the bitcoin

or maybe buy half a bitcoin n invest rest in real-estate, stocks, gold, etc.

and i realized he is completely right because i read somewhere that only 17% of indians invest in the stock market and i don't have the exact bitcoin data but..

if i am going to assume, i'd think that maybe half of those might be investing in some form of crypto and maybe some percentage of there total portfolio might be bitcoin

we are so so behind and by the time we realize the bitcoin will most definitely hit a milion for sure and most of us will be left out again because most of us don't know about it

and it got me thinking is our financial system deliberately trying to keep us poor by not letting us freely invest in bitcoin and by putting 30% tax and 1% tds on it?

me, i only buy btc, usually at the end of every month & as much as i can afford to,, so it is sort of like a sip per month..

but i do not diversify because quite frankly i don't understand these altcoins, btc is much simpler & i trust it more than anything

then i read this article today that said that btc's dominance has started to decline & i start to wonder whether im making a mistake

putting the whole of my investment in only bitcoin as little as it may be? and maybe i should start putting some percentage of my investment in altcoins as well?

Over a period of time, he transferred Rs 3.8 crore in multiple tranches, using RTGS transfers from his bank accounts. He was further encouraged to borrow additional money from friends and relatives to continue investing, as the platform presented itself as highly profitable.

and the headlines call it 'crypto scam' .. but why is it a crypto scam? no crypto was involved in this scam. it is just a fraud.

aunties falling for 'committee' scams is understandable because most of them are just housewives who don't know much about the world

i have never staked any coins before as mostly i just convert any crypto i receive to bitcoin and thankfully bitcoin doesn't have that mechanism

but how trustworthy r these staking services r? what if these exchanges who r staking people's money for what 10-12% a year lose it all

here's what i have observed--

as soon as they realize that ur not just a fluke and u do know a little bit about poker and u make correct calls/raise/pre-flop-raise etc.

they mark u and they start putting shills at ur table and they're so easy to point out because they play the most nonsensical hands

like 2-5 non suited, 5-8 non suites and magically they end up making straights

which is so uncommon and u would not expect anyone to even play these hands

but not only do they play these hands, u see them going all-in on the most shittiest of hands and win as if they already know the outcome

and when they go all in pre-flop with these awful hands u know what ur dealt?

AA, AK, KK, QQ and naturally u end up calling and lose

i think this is the strategy of most if not all indian poker sites

last night match betwixt punjab and delhi was originally going to be held in punjab

but due to security risks the venue was changed to dharamshala

and although dhramshala is very far from any pak/india border

the blackout was called when pak started attacking indian cities near the border

the bcci cited that it was lighting technical issue  

but i think it was due to safety reasons

a big glowing ground during dark of night with full of ppl is easy to target

and therefore i think this season ipl might get cancelled  

because pak has already moved their psl to uae

so we can't do that like we did during corona
