4  Economy / Scam Accusations / Logan Paul and CoffeZilla thread discussion on: January 05, 2023, 07:52:02 PM
Hey fellows mortals,

We are here and the blockchain is quite new technology they said: . It's ok to scam cause it's new they said, here is an inside of the series:

Here's a thread where you can spam your ideas on the battle between a scammer and a somewhat fair og crypto fellow.

Myself I accept coffezilla, I don't accept any other crypto youtubers, he understands how scam works, he understands people, he understands to some extent the blockchain.
On the other side we have Logan Paul, the hero of our generation (even tho, I am 3 years older than him lol), he is a fun, ongoing, native intelligent content creator who proved that he can overcome any challenge.

Back to the story, he made a scam, he made a quick rich scam (Logan Paul), but the tricky part is....
Was it a scam? Of course, when you start a project you think about getting rich fast, that's the goal of it. Make a company, make some useful product, sell it for google for 2 bil$ and live in the house with Alan and Jake, just kd.
Logan at the same time was conned by the asian dude whatever big brain he had. But did Logan was actually scammed? And if he was, did he do anything to save the situation? This is the question of the thread.

It may not look too much interesting for the people here, but it's the most interesting thing happened lately, even more interesting than FTX itself. This is an example that shows that crypto is not a scam, but the scam is about the people into it.
5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / SEC public comments on a ETF - gold mine on: December 26, 2022, 10:01:12 PM
Back in 2018 for a sec. Just found a topic about a scam and while googling I remembered about an SEC open comments about ocbe etf. Some of them are epic and you will find many true bitcoiners here:

I will post some of those that I have loved:

Dear SEC official,

Please approve the CBOE Bitcoin ETFs, stop being the new luddites, itís not your job.

Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies are Anti-Fragile. They will not go away under regulatory pressure.

If excessive regulation squeezes them in one geographic location they will just grow in more friendly places, become stronger, more resilient and eventually return when itís too late for American investors.

By not approving these ETFs you are forcing American investors to place their funds in off-shore jurisdictions, thus rather than protecting them, you are pushing them away from American regulatory protection, the opposite effect of your mandate.

Dear SEC administrator,

Bitcoin is the new Gold! An ETF would give the old folk who can't paste a link into an email -I'm looking at you Mom- a chance invest in the asset class of the future.
When Fidelity, Coinbase and others are allowed to be custodians for cryptocurrency investment, the high bar to safe ownership that currently exists will fall and computer knowledge will no longer be a prerequisite to participate.
When Bitcoin and Ethereum adoption hits globally -fast becoming a reality- it would be nice if the US population -young and old- had a larger stake in it.

I believe that Bitcoin and Ethereum have reached sufficient maturity and adoption as digital value ecosystems. The public should have the opportunity to invest in the growing asset class through tradition financial instruments like an ETF. If the ETF proposal is rejected, the SEC needs to give clear instructions for what needs to be done to accept a proposal for a Bitcoin or Ether ETF. Every effort is being made to be compliant and the SEC should not block main stream investors from this emerging asset class.

I support the creation of ETFs and other cryptocurrency-based financial instruments because 1) accessing crypto markets provides value to society and 2) there are currently significant barriers to entry blocking people without technical skills from accessing those markets.

1) Crypto markets provide value to society:

Cryptocurrency markets have value because, among many other uses, blockchain technology allows for: a) a hedge against the collapse or devaluation of a national currency as seen in Zimbabwe and Venezuela b) more efficient tax auditing c) labor-saving smart contract technology d) digitalization of property deeds e) distributed autonomous organizations (which can comply with SEC regulations in the future) f) a more cost-efficient alternative to credit card transactions

2) Significant barriers exist for retail investors:

Setting up an account on ETRADE is much easier than learning about the differences between leaving crypto assets on an exchange versus using hardware wallets, paper wallets, web wallets, or desktop wallets.

Hackers and criminals profit from scamming people with a lack of technical expertise. User error results in the mistaken loss of assets.

For these reasons and more (including Japan's head start in this area) I support the creation of cryptocurrency ETFs, including this Bitcoin ETF.

This was a fun read for this evening  Cry

9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Maybe some hacks should not be illegal on: September 01, 2022, 05:49:59 PM
Hey there,

I was doing my research on hacks so far in 2022 and I had a thought in my mind.

Why are hacks on smart contracts on smart contracts seen as illegal? Why stealing btc from someone's private key is seen as malicious?

Don't get me wrong here: but your keys, your crypto. I don't think someone can't say the other way arround, right? Ownership can be proven only by having the private key to your coins.

And about smart contracts, the moment someone is using a smart contract he agrees with the code of the smart contract. As a decentralysed network, if someone abuses of that code that is an issue of the code developer or of the owners of the specific contract(holders) as much. There was a specific hack this year, I won't name it, and on slack the owner received a simple question: "You have paid for an audit, how's possible they didn't notice such a obvious breach?" and he answered: "Because it costed only 69k$". Take the crema hack for example..

So what are your opinions? Should hacks on decentralysed networks to be not judged?

12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Is TRON dead? on: July 01, 2022, 07:24:50 AM
Lately I am doing a lot of analyse on the tron blockchain, the old and the new dapp's developed. I don't know if you are familiar with trx dapps but most of them are dead or a big lack of developement. Myself I see tron as a better alternative to bnb(shit)/eth(shittier), but it seems the masses don't want to accept it or use it.

Why do you think Tron network is not being used to its high potential?

pls no spam replies

16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / BTC on other chains is not BTC on: June 13, 2022, 12:58:50 PM
Check out the last tweet of Binance:

Only a single network, the Bitcoin network, is impacted due to the stuck batch of transactions.

Users can withdraw $BTC on Ethereum or BNB Chain while our team works to resolve this temporary pause.

Binance has temporarily paused #Bitcoin withdrawals on the $BTC network. Meanwhile, you can still withdraw BTC on other networks.

This is due to a stuck on-chain transaction. Our team is currently working on a solution and will provide further updates soon.

To open the discussion, my opinion is that bitcoin on any other chains is not bitcoin. Do not encourage binance or assist binance in their attempt to take control with their shit useless alt network. BTC is BTC, not BSC.
