1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Multicoin Mining Pool for GPU on: February 01, 2017, 07:08:52 PM
Ello ello, I was curious as to what you guys thought was the best multi mining pool for gpu mining? I'm running RX 480s and I was thinking about mining monero, eth/etc or zcash. I am however open to switch to the most profitable coin on a daily basis as well. Hash-to-coins is nice because it always shows profit comparison over LTC when mining Scrypt.

Thoughts/insight appreciated!
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Hmm, a local billionaire in a small town is backing the Pepsi to Bitcoin's Coke on: January 02, 2017, 03:43:42 AM
Get your Litecorn ready yall... Wink

Who would have thought giving a book, "The Creature from Jekyll Island" to the secretary of a local billionaire would have actually manifested a meeting. Funny how a scheduled 1 hour discussion turned into a 7 hour tirade.

Keep it up LTC trolls and I'll be pushing harder than my current 16 hour daily workflow (I don't stop for holidays or weekends either).
You'll be shocked down the road when you see a global retailer accepting LTC along with BTC.

Peace.
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Uh, you might want to start buying some Litecoins... on: December 22, 2016, 04:42:48 AM
Turns out convincing a billionaire to back LTC wasn’t as hard as I thought. If I were you I would start buying some Litecoins… Smiley

4  Bitcoin / Mining support / Quick Question: IP issues on: December 15, 2016, 04:27:21 PM
Quick question for the community. I have 40 ASICS I'm wiring up as we speak. I'm searching ISP options. I'm using a TP link 48 port switch.

My question: Can a standard residential ISP be used for this? They say I can have up to 13 IPs (pay extra), but when I go to hipster coffee shops I see 30+ people all on the same wifi. I know all the connected devices are sharing one IP address.

So second question: Can the miners all go through one IP or do I need an individual IP for each miner connected to the 48 port switch?

There are commercial ISP plans available, but they are rather expensive.

I would like to be sure on this before I agree to a yearly contract.

Feedback appreciated, thanks peeps!
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / New Revolutionary Cryptocurrency on: November 27, 2016, 07:31:43 PM
I just had the most incredible idea for a new revolutionary cryptocurrency! You know the Rootstock smart contract platform for Bitcoin? What if we copy that code and create our own token for it? We could then premine 70 million tokens before we launch it to the public. I’m thinking we could do a crowd sale to get people’s Bitcoins and we can sit on those as well for more financial gains.

Also, we could pitch Goldman Sachs on this idea for actual funding on the project while we hoard all these tokens. After that we could create a bunch of ICO experimental projects on top of the platform netting us another 1000x our investment. The beautiful part is that if anything bad ever happens due to our horrible bugged coding we could just fork or roll back the block chain. People in the crypto space are really stupid and wouldn’t even get mad anyways (Mt. Gox, Buttfinesse, Cryptsy, Moolah).

Not only that, we could keep the amount of inflation and number of total coins unknown giving us even more control over the system. People will champion this network as a rival to Bitcoin and with time we will be able to convince people that we can even surpass Bitcoin artificially driving up the price of our token.

People would be totally convinced that our network is decentralized as we fork into more forks to fix any lack of foresight. Any fork that managed to maintain itself we would immediately write it off as a scam. Considering that it will be GPU mined this will help with the word of mouth to spread awareness and by letting all these people gain a few coins they will help protect the legitimacy of our platform.

Lastly, once all else fails and we can no longer secure the network due to attacks and bugs we will simply switch over to proof of stake instead of proof of work. And since we have all the “stake” our new net worth could be maintained forever or we can slowly convert our tokens over to BTC slowly/quietly.

I really do believe this concept could be the greatest thing since sliced bread. Would anyone in the community be interested in joining me in the launch of this new project?
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Hillbilly Speaking Logic on Altcoins Again... on: October 19, 2016, 01:07:05 AM

It's a sad day when a hillybilly has more logic/common sense than most of the children around here... I swear being involved in crypto is like living in the twilight zone.

7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin Gong Non-Stahp!!! on: October 14, 2016, 08:03:47 AM
Jeff Bezos gave an interview one time regarding the initial stages of Amazon. He said they used to have a bell in his humble book only warehouse. The first few months after launch it would ring and they would be excited, but then it got to the point that it would ring 24/7, so they had to turn it off.

Since 2013 I've had http://fiatleak.com/ running non-stop on one of my computers (at low decibel). It is starting to get to that stage again gentleman... and I am finally annoyed by that sound, yet delighted.

Should I turn it off now or up the gong amount to 1000 BTC per second?

YAAAAAASS!
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / China's Official Altcoin on: October 11, 2016, 11:20:50 PM
China going full blown HAM right meow!

After BTC hits ATH (thanks to China) can you guys guess which coin they will turn to next? Smiley

I'll give you a hint, it's the ONLY altcoin listed on every major Chinese exchange.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Bitcoin Rising and ICOs Falling Away on: October 08, 2016, 10:27:26 PM
Bro tip: Bitcoin could be very close to ATH breakout if you study the charts and doomy global financial news. All the ICO/Scammy coin speculators seem to be getting worried about missing the BTC boat and are liquidating. I suspect that as Bitcoin keeps pushing higher we will see these shart coins continuously seeking a new support level. There are several older alts that seem to be holding their ground as this occurs though and in particular, LTC. If you look at the USD and BTC chart for LTC there really is nothing left to extract out of it. Unless some whale can break that .00585 mark on the ltc/btc chart I foresee it going sideways for a bit and then a potential slingshot like last time.

This is what I believe will occur: (hibernation season is over for BTC, so people aren't going to speculate on shit alts anymore for profit)
1. Shart coins will continue to be liquidated for BTC.
2. BTC will hit an ATH as everything continues to fall or go sideways.
3. New support levels will be drawn for all these newer alts.
4. BTC will reach an outrageous price and new investors may look for an alternative (again) thinking they missed the boat.
5. The red headed step child of crypto will green dildo back to ath
6. Then all the profit from both BTC and LTC will be speculated/diversified back into scammy alts as the market cools down again.

Does anyone else see this scenario playing out that way? Looks like it is already occurring Smiley

I'd go all in on BTC for the next few months guys...

11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Litecoin Scalability (Serious Real World Question) on: September 27, 2016, 05:56:41 AM
A bank with the largest derivatives balance sheet in the entire world could collapse relatively soon. They will either declare bankruptcy or do a "bail-in" (similar to what we saw in Cyprus). Being that Germany dwarfs this small island, I assume that either outcome will have a substantial positive impact on the crypto market (based on the last rally we saw in 2013). However, Bitcoin will not be able to handle the demand due to a block scaling bottleneck (although, they have some scaling upgrades in the works). My question is then, can Litecoin even handle the overflow of new users even with 4x capacity? I strongly believe that LTC would become a direct beneficiary of this user overflow issue. This is not some pie in the sky concept either, but becoming a real possibility if central bankers can't hold this global monetary system together. Do we have a contingency plan in place if this occurs? It would be wise to get something in the works prior to such an event taking place or at least have it coded and ready to implement as a backup. Any insight from developers or other technical insiders would be greatly appreciated. Lastly, Germany has a population 80x larger than Cyprus; that should give you an idea as to how much bigger this next wave of users could be in the event of a financial fiasco.

Current Chart:

Side note: I seriously hope they can work their magic in resolving this 14 billion issue because the repercussions of this particular bank failing could set off a nasty chain reaction.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / The Characteristics of Money (Compared to Litecoin) on: September 23, 2016, 11:22:18 PM
Awkward yet epic... Coblee codes Litecoin while having toast with butter after a mid day nap. A year later he is then using Litecoin as money to fly from convention to convention to talk about Litecoin... If that isn't the biggest mind F, then I don't know what is.... Has Coblee created the perfect money (aside from Bitcoin)? What worries me about BTC is that Coinbase is blacklisting BTC addresses... which is probably why Coblee is adding CT to LTC because fungibility is numero uno! Smiley

14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Why Litecoin Will Never Die on: September 04, 2016, 07:47:31 PM
Because China! I hate to break it to all of you living in western society, but China has surpassed your GDP by a large margin (you just don't know it yet). Has anyone here ever been? It's like living with the Jetsons..
The future is now with Asia and will be the case for the next 100 years. Start learning Chinese! Unlike those in in the west they have a culture of savers and they understand the historical value of gold and silver. They also seem to be more tech savvy (your average person) to me and more accepting of it, so the correlation carries over nicely. The creator of LTC is also Chinese and his brother runs the largest exchange in China... you think they don't take notice of that??? Lastly, Bitcoin is JUST as centralized as Litecoin in China in terms of mining... and that makes sense! Any coin worth something is obviously going to be their focus and when you have the will power and resources you're obviously going to pull ahead in the global crypto mining arms race.

Soooo China. China! China?

15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Litecoin Rebranding Campaign on: September 03, 2016, 08:36:55 AM
*The Official Litecoin Branding Campaign: "Litecoin, the gold to Bitcoin's attempt at gold."

Seriously... Am I the only one that actually sends/receives BTC and LTC on a daily basis? I refuse to use any wallet except the core wallet and BTC is heading towards 60GB (making the sync process annoying) and confirm times take up to 40+ min. Uhhhhhhh, are we going to just ignore this or..?

*Not official, but it's headed that way eventually. Stay mad trolls Smiley

16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Putting Bitcoin into Perspective on: August 30, 2016, 12:06:32 AM
I have a real world story for you guys that really opened my eyes as to why humanity needs Bitcoin. So a few years ago I was living homeless in the jungle in a third world country. It was always a dream of mine to see if I was capable of living in the wild like that 100% completely on my own.

For one month I lived a mile away from the most secluded town in the country on the beach/jungle. In the beginning it was great until I ran out of food and I had to do everything myself. You’d be surprised how easy modern life is compared to living like this. From sun up to sun down the easiest tasks took hours and I had to always be thinking ahead and planning out my day. From washing my clothes, starting fires, sourcing/storing food, building my shelter after the tent fell apart etc etc. However, I no longer had to worry about bills or being on time for business meetings, but I had a different type of stress in my life.

This went on successfully for awhile, but then I started to get scared considering the noises I would hear at night from predators. By that time, I felt like I had proved to myself that I could survive in the wild if I had to. However, I wasn’t ready to move back into civilization just yet because I was enjoying this new lifestyle (and figured since I was here I would keep it going for a while).

I ended up abandoning my camp and relocating as close as I could to this secluded town. The locals started to take notice of me and decided to reach out which ended up in a friendship. After they observed my process for living day to day they had many opinions and thought I was an idiot for the way I did things. For example, I was climbing palm trees and cutting down the coconuts with a pocket knife, but they suggested cutting down a stick of bamboo and shooting them out of the tree as if they were playing a game of pool. This strategy worked incredibly well and was 10x more efficient! Another example, was when I was collecting beach wood and these wood fibers to start my fires, but they suggested gathering trash to get it started. As toxic as that sounds I was able to start my fires within seconds as opposed to 30+ mins. Then Ironically, we started bartering for things with each other which made my life even that much easier.

Ultimately this level of improvement was applied to all my strategies in living from day to day. It actually became so efficient that I had an immense amount of free time. It was at this point I had an epiphany while relaxing under a palm tree. My entire life I’ve always been a lone wolf and very stubborn not wanting help from others or wanting to be involved in a team (such as sports as a kid). However, when comparing my lifestyle to living alone in the jungle as compared to living amongst the locals the amount of abundance and prosperity was eye opening.

These thoughts then jumped to other things I’ve noticed. By looking at the most basic needs of life vs living in a complex massive global society there are things we can extrapolate out. What I’m referring to are the efficiencies and abundances we can all share by working together. By going from a lone wolf in the jungle to working as a team with 5 other people I was able to have a 10x increase in my standard of living. I then thought if my group of 5 then interfaced with a group of 50 how much more efficient and abundant we could all live. From there I thought, “Oh my god” now imagine if we all worked together in this manner with millions of people then on top of that include the industrial revolution and then technological revolution. Right now in this exact moment of time based on all these inventions, innovations and massive societies we should have so much abundance it would be ridiculous.

Okay then, why don’t we have that quality of life and abundance/leisure time? Well, you’ll notice when I was working with these 5 other people we were bartering and sharing our knowledge without the use of a third party to exchange our physical and mental energy. We were the sole beneficiaries of this value and because of it lead to a direct impact in our lifestyle. That is the key!

Unfortunately, that is not the system we currently live in. All of these efficiencies in working together as a society and all the inventions and innovations of our ancestors are not being directed towards humanity. This energy/efficiency is being siphoned off through the means of inflation, taxation, third-party financial services, corporations, banks, governments, etc etc. These institutions are in place to steal your physical and mental energy and to rob your grandchildren (and their grandchildren) of their economic prosperity (forcing you into a perpetual state of work/enslavement).

I don’t want to make this too long, but I hope this story puts everything into perspective and stresses the importance as to why the world needs Bitcoin/Cryptocurrencies. We are talking about the future of humanity and whether we live in a free society full of abundance and leisure or a technological dark age/prison. I chose to live in a future where we are the direct beneficiaries of every ounce of our mental and physical energy starting right now and as we move forward.

Please never forget this and what’s at stake.

18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Altcoin Pump Squad on: August 29, 2016, 01:41:19 AM

They need to calm it down a bit because people are starting to notice...
19  Other / Meta / bitcoinlitcoinbtcltc to be banned from bitcointalk.org on: August 28, 2016, 12:28:15 AM
Am I the only one that thinks bitcoinlitcoinbtcltc should be banned from Bitcointalk? Everyone here has seen his blatant pump and dump attempts on altcoins. Granted they have little to zero affect on price, but he's so blatant about it and no one does anything. He could potentially be hurting noobs out there...

The only thing that can be said about me is that I'm a perma bull on Litecoin based on fundamentals. This guy is actually trying to scalp people by day trading based on manipulating people (or so he tries).
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Am I missing something? on: August 27, 2016, 11:58:49 PM
Insight appreciated!

I'm creating a small altcoin crypto farm at my home consisting of 45 machines. I already took care of the amp service for the needed power.

Each machine draws 1000 watts of power. One rack holds 15 machines, so 15,000 watts per rack (3 racks total). I wanted to buy a power strip to cover each rack so it would look clean/tighty, but power strips whether 5 or 20 outlets are still only rated for 15 or 20 amp in most cases (I need many outlets for each rack). So I guess I'm stuck with just running whips from each breaker to each machine, but with 20 amp breakers I could run dual outlets to two machines. Any thoughts on how to most efficiently wire this up? (oddly I've seen some farms using power strips, so I'm not sure how they're doing that)

I have a 48 port switch, but I'm concerned about assigning that many IPs on one modem. On my small scale farm I had a 5 port switch which worked fine. Would this work or am I missing something? I once connected like 30 devices via wifi on one modem, so I think it's possible.

Multiminerapp was the software I planned on using for managing all these machines. I plan on benchmarking several pools since it's been awhile (and I've seen some good software they offer), but would you guys recommend the multiminerapp? (since I haven't tried that one yet)

I have industrial floor fans that can pull cold air in and push hot air out, so I think I've covered everything.

Am I missing anything?

- networking
- software
- cooling
- mining pools
- hardware
