81  Other / Beginners & Help / BTC will always prevail on: December 16, 2022, 06:20:33 AM
I have heard on this forum that BTC can be stopped if the government want to, my question is how? I read on news that Canada's CBDC is almost complete and as for the CBDC why did the government create theirs? I think that's the only option left for them, to join the train.

I think BTC is too lucrative, and the tech is still in an early stage and all the govt can do is find a way to be in control.
82  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / I failed to notice this all along on: December 12, 2022, 08:14:37 AM
I thought I was an expert when it comes to picking good altcoins but I know nothing, all this while I never knew how important is vesting period when investing in crypto projects, no wonder some altcoins never go back to their ATH again.

I messed up pretty bad, I build a crypto portfolio with over 3 projects with bad tokenomics, if you don't know, vesting in another word means token lock-up, the team will lock part of the token supply for a period of time, and later they release them.

Fact is the release of those tokens will make the value of the token go down, have you ever look at a project with 20 billion supply that still has 0.86$ value per token in a bear market? That's the case. High max supply with high value. Very common with projects on token vesting.

If you buy such tokens you will lose money when the token unlock take place, watch out when making some choice with altcoins, also here is one of the few websites that keep track on projects token unlock

https://token.unlocks.app

Use it to your advantage
83  Other / Beginners & Help / Be careful ! on: December 11, 2022, 08:38:55 AM
Some days ago I decided to make some withdrawal from Binance exchange and I noticed that the withdrawal went through without any form of verifications e.g Authentication code, Email code and phone number code.

I thought to myself, when did Binance deactivate these? Then I moved on, reactivate all three security 🔐  measures, this morning again the same thing happened, is Binance buggy or what?

I feel relaxed about this because I only have few dollars on the exchange, this is very dangerous for those that have big amount on the exchange, converting my FIAT to crypto is why I am still using Binance exchange.

Be careful out there and do not think that the FTX / Alameda craze will be the last, anything can still happen
84  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / What will you do in this case? on: December 09, 2022, 12:39:39 PM
A well known crypto newbie contact me about two crypto project he his currently holding, Mina Protocol and Fuel, the problem is Alameda and FTX are big investors of these two projects, he is asking if he should sell his bag and replace with other altcoin?

Is this a good reason to sell off your coins and replace with another that Alameda and FTX aren't involved? Pls drop your idea .

What will you do in this case?
85  Economy / Economics / Have Satoshi dream failed? on: December 09, 2022, 11:41:19 AM
If truly we are all here to share crypto experiences then this is another one, I could be the one lacking the knowledge but I believe creating this topic will open my eye to better understanding.

Satoshi Nakamoto created Bitcoin as the perfect P2P digital money but today people are forced to pay tax on their holdings. Haven't this make the whole anonymous and freedom dream of Nakamoto failed?
86  Economy / Gambling / A way to attract new users or a misunderstanding? on: December 09, 2022, 08:51:18 AM
Is web 3 a misunderstanding word for some gambling crypto projects? I've come across few gambling / crypto projects that claimed to be a web 3.0 online casino and other but they still ask for KYC.

The definition of web 3.0 had everything to do with decentralization, block chain technology and token based economics as per what Wikipedia illustrated so why is identity/ verification integrated?

Is this just a misunderstanding of what web 3 actually is? Or it's a way to attract people/users to make them think that their platform is more advanced?.
87  Bitcoin / Mining / Looking forward to Asic mining journey on: December 09, 2022, 07:02:39 AM
I have successfully sold every single graphic cards I own for crypto mining few days ago, some at loss and few at good money and now I've zero my mind to focus on Bitcoin only, something I should have done in 2021 instead of focusing on GPU and Ethereum?

Now I have 15,000$ at hand, I am looking for a durable Asic miner for someone who lives in a far away black country where tech is less important .

The reason why I said tech is less important here is because, right from day one I always said NO to Asic Miners because of repair and fixes, believe me no one knows how to fix Asic miners here .

So I want a very durable Asic miner that can serve me, I've heard about few that are prone to faults, Power fault that's why I need your guidance.
88  Other / Beginners & Help / Every crypto newbies need to know this on: December 04, 2022, 11:42:31 AM
The only thing that keeps giving me the freedom vibe right now is Bitcoin.

Bitcoin is the only innovation that keeps me a bit ahead of the Government.

I am sure that some millionaires and billionaires out there are already sicken of the government and it's banking system.

They monitor you when you made some deposits in the bank.

They sit you down and start asking questions when you are ready to use your hard earned money.

They use your money behind your back to invest for themselves.

This is why I strongly believe that Bitcoin will forever keep it's value intact, do make sure that you at least have 50% of your fund in Bitcoin, whatever your crypto dream might be make sure Bitcoin has its place in your hardware wallet.
89  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / What happen to Bytecoin on: December 02, 2022, 02:51:59 PM
Some years ago, the most cheapest coins you can find is Dogecoin, Litecoin and Bytecoin, my question is what the heck happened to Bytecoin? I remember I piled up some and just lock them away, my expectation on this coin isn't big though, I was just learning then.
90  Bitcoin / Mining / I need to know more about security of a mining pool on: December 02, 2022, 01:56:20 PM
Must a crypto mining pool be an open source to at least trust the pool before connecting your asic miner? Or it doesn't matter? I have heard stories of hackers redirecting your hashrate to another pool and take over your asic or this is fake?

I am trying to be on a safer side.
91  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / So USDT is what's keeping TRX alive? on: December 02, 2022, 01:48:14 PM
If USDT fails in future wouldn't TRX be the most affected? I said this because I don't see any other reasons why TRX is doing so well if not for a lesser gas fee/transaction when dealing with USDT.

Am I wrong? Is there any other good reason to use TRX ( TRON )?
92  Economy / Gambling discussion / Can you still win with free spins? on: November 18, 2022, 09:11:57 AM
Is it possible to stick with free spins on online casinos and still be able to make some good reward?

I am looking into the free side of things, no risk at all with free spins but the question is has anyone ever make something out of free spins before? Something reasonable at?

The last time I earned something free from gambling websites was when BTC has very low value and many faucets still run, that's couple of years back.
93  Economy / Trading Discussion / Which Dexs are best for perpetual futures trading on: November 18, 2022, 08:12:32 AM
What are the best places to trade perpetual futures on chain this day after recent collapse of FTX? I believe that the need for decentralized platforms has become apparent.

I like DYDX but I heard you need VPN if you are in the U.S because they don't allow American people. I've not use GMX or GAINS ( gTrade ) what do you think about these two? Or which one are you using right now?
94  Other / Beginners & Help / If this is all a project has to offer run and don't look back on: November 16, 2022, 01:02:04 PM
I am a fan of Coinmarketcap/new, I use this link from time to time to look into new projects that find their way to the platform, i've heard that Coingecko is better for this but that's not why I am here..

It's getting annoying to see new projects claiming they have good utility and when you go deep to do some research you ends up with

STAKING
BUYBACK
BURNING MECHANISM

Tell me how these are use cases?

Are people still stupid enough to invest their hard earned money on such crypto projects? If you are new to crypto all these aren't real use cases.

If these are all a project have to offer you better run, such projects have nothing to lose if they want to rug pull and believe me it's easier for them, they have nothing to offer in the first place.
95  Economy / Exchanges / FTX issue might be for the greater good on: November 10, 2022, 09:36:57 AM
The FTX exchange fund mismanagement might actually be a good thing, why?

1) All other crypto exchanges will now have to proof to the world that they actually have funds secured, transparency must be proven for the exchange to see new users.

2) Regulation will get more serious, this have triggered more reason for regulation call.

From now on Consumers Protection will always come first.
96  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Do not believe every crypto news you read online on: November 05, 2022, 01:30:25 PM
When you see a crypto news saying that investors are leaving shiba inu and polygon or avalanche for a new project do not always believe, this is a new way to attract the public investors that have no time to do their own research first.

For example, something like this is been going on for a long time now

I can't count how many times I've come across such news online and when you check the project out its either a new upcoming project that's not even launched yet or a project that has low volume.

This Oryen Network in the picture above is not even listed on coinmarketcap and presale is ongoing 🤦🏼‍♂️ why the lie in the first place? The presale is even struggling if you check the website.

New crypto investors need to be very careful when doing research, do not take a decision without doing your own research first.
97  Other / Off-topic / I need more protection for my PC on: November 04, 2022, 06:37:10 AM
Good day BTT friends I have some questions about windows PC protection

  • Between Windows OS and Linux OS which one has the best firewall setup and security?

  • Can a proper Firewall configuration add more security to crypto software wallets on PC?

  • Is there any other ways I can add more protection to a Linux operating system?

98  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / This days you can't predict what will make you vulnerable to hack, I need answer on: November 02, 2022, 08:55:00 AM
With my profile rank I still feel somehow asking this type of question, but I guess one can't know it all..

Is it safe to go on google search and type " how to add polygon to metamask"? I ask this because this days you can only stay one step ahead of scammers if you are getting information fast.

Are there no scam adding network to metamask yet?

Is there no way scammers are already using fake RPC URL to scam people? I need to ask.

Also do you have any solid genuine link where all chain data can be copy and past into Metamask instead of searching then through the web?.
99  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Future of Layer 2 and Arbitrum on: November 02, 2022, 08:32:31 AM
The most promising Layer 2 project that many are looking forward to is Arbitrum and it's possible that this project can be in the top 100 as soon as they release their native token.

I recommend everyone to pls at least make some transactions using Arbitrum chain and bridge or buy and store tokens running on the Arbitrum network because you may be eligible for their airdrop (if they plan to have a token), though this is not guaranteed.

Arbitrum doesn't have a native token yet but it has already surpassed Solana in area of projects that's been stationed on the network and total value locked. And if tokens comes the total value locked will increase even more.
100  Other / Beginners & Help / How to guide a 10year old on the blockchain journey? on: October 28, 2022, 06:50:39 PM
Is there any proper way a kid can learn how to build on the blockchain? I have a very smart kid who knows way too much about computer software and hardware, I believe that exposing him to blockchain technology is better since it's the future with the way things are going right now, where do you think I should start.
