1  Bitcoin / Mining support / S17+ hashboards keep failing on: January 16, 2023, 06:30:04 AM
Hi everyone, I have multiple S17+ (73TH) miners and all of them after a few weeks of running show that one of hashboards has 0 chips found. I then will swap the boards around and they will run fine but then again one of the hashboards show zero chips.

I normally would blame the board but recently I have had two new boards stop working after a few days. I am not sure why these new boards keep going bad and I don’t have any devices to check them. The only thing I can do is swap them around and it doesn’t make sense to me why they work for a few days and then stop. I am running BRAIINS software on all machines.

I suspect it may be the control board but I don’t know how to test that theory.

Any troubleshooting advice would be appreciated.

2  Bitcoin / Hardware / Reflashing S17+ Firmware without a zip file on: May 14, 2022, 04:33:55 PM
Hi guys,

I am trying to reflash my S17+ back to the factory software. I tried following the guide here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5269100.0 but this is for an S9 where they are reporting they are getting multiple files after unzipping the firmware from the Bitmain website.

When I try to follow their procedure I am only getting one TAR GZ file when I download the firmware from Bitman (Link: https://shop.bitmain.com/support/download).

Do I just need to copy this single file to a SD card (after formatting to FAT 32) and then put it in my miner? This doesn't seem right considering most of the tutorials I have seen online show zip files that need extracted that have multiple files inside.

Does anyone have experience doing this and can give me some advice? Lastly, the reason I want to reflash my firmware to factory is because I currently can't connect my miner to the internet and I can get its IP address when I press the reporter button. The LED is solid red on the back indicating a fault so this is all I can think to do.

Thanks in advance.
