2  Other / Beginners & Help / Market Trend: Bitcoins will go up in value today! on: July 26, 2011, 06:58:37 AM
The U.S. president gave his speech on debt and forex markets are hammering the greeback. If BTC is liquid and in demand, it should regain it's loss of 1.5-2 bucks in value over the last week and go back to US $15 a pop! Go long guys, go long if you get any broker offers below $14.

3  Other / Beginners & Help / Transaction Fees :::: What is a fair price? on: July 26, 2011, 12:29:47 AM
So what do you guys think is a fair price? 2%, 1%, 0.5% ?

Obviously, the way things are going, transactions won't be free unless the "faciliator" of the transaction has a massive mining and server advantage or is compensated other ways which allows them to afford free transaction offers. This is already the case.

4  Other / Beginners & Help / Can a wallet be deleted? on: July 26, 2011, 12:21:11 AM
Hi Guys,

If a wallet has 0.00 balance:

#1 Isn't that a waste of wallet address keys?
#2 Do they have an expiry date?
#3 Can they be destroyed? So someone else can use the key?
#4 Would we have the same problem as IPv4 in future where there is a payment address key scarcity?

Thanks in advance for replies.

6  Other / Beginners & Help / How BitCoin works (basic) on: July 25, 2011, 01:09:48 AM
Hi All,

Great to be on the DB. I've been following the discussion through Twitter for a few weeks now and the discussions are a great resource to learn about BTC. Still have have some fundamental quesitons. Appreciate some education and apologies if it's already been asked.

(1) If I want to pay John 1.00 BTC, do I have to pay transaction fees to miners?

(2) Is there a fixed amount of fees per transaction?

(3) I had 0.01 BTC in instawallet which I transfered to my personal MacBook. The transaction was free. I tried transferring the 0.01 BTC from my MacBook back to Instawallet and the app says "over the limit...would you like to pay ~0.0005 BTC as fees?" Why was it free one way and costs the other way?
