1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Thoughts on potential altseason? on: July 28, 2026, 10:40:35 AM
Do we think there is a chance of potential altseason next few years like we saw before 2022 or are those times over?

I have been in crypto a few years now and had a few good winners end of 2024 seeing returns of 10x or more but the majority of my altcoins are in the red and not seen any type of positive action since 2021.

I have been reading one of the main reasons altcoins have not performed well since the end of 2021 is because we had QT (quantitative tightening) for 3.5 years from June 2022 till December last year and during QT altcoins do not tend to perform well due to drained liquidity and risk off environment.  Do we think this is a likely reason for lack of altseason or not?

Bitcoin did really well last cycle, going from $15.5k end of 2022 to $126k October last year, a 700% increase and some alts did this but majority did not.

I am just wondering what to expect from alts next few years, are the days of seeing a 30-50x return still possible or should we just be very happy if we get a 10x with altcoins now?
2  Economy / Speculation / Bitcoin bottom just 11 weeks away? on: July 23, 2026, 11:51:30 AM
If the 4 year cycle is still to continue and you compare it to previous cycles then Bitcoin will bottom in roughly 11 weeks and i am curious to hear how low we all think it will go?

I have seen some say as low as $35k but id be very surprised if it goes that low.

I think the bottom will be between $44-50k and my current plan is to buy more regularly soon as it falls below $56k.
3  Economy / Speculation / Understanding the link between Crypto & QE. on: June 12, 2026, 08:21:47 AM
So i have been reading a lot lately that there has not been a real altseason in the last 4 years because we were in QT (Quantitive tightening) for most of the time.

QT began in June 2022 and ended December last year.   I don't know too much about this topic but quick google search it says Crypto struggles during QT as central banks shrink their balance sheets & drain liquidity, risk on assets face severe downward pressure and lower trading volumes.

Now that QT is finally over, QE (Quantitve easing) is expected to start in the coming months for the next few years and i have read that during QE years crypto benefits due to injecting massive liquidity into the financial system, devaluing fiat currencies and pushing investors towards riskier assets.

The last QE period was from March 2020 and it lasted till March 2022 and if you look at bitcoin and altcoins, they all performed very well during that time with bitcoin going from $6k to $69k and many altcoins seeing big returns with many seeing 20x returns or more.

Many are hoping with QE expected to start sometime this year, that more liquidity will come as people will put their money into riskier assets like crypto.

Do we think there really is a link between crypto and QE? Or is there much more to it?
4  Economy / Speculation / What to expect from Bitcoin this summer? on: June 04, 2026, 10:20:32 AM
Those who still believe we are following a 4 year cycle do not think we have bottomed yet and will do so in September/October later this year.

I am not quite sure what to believe but will DCA this summer and if we have to wait till later this year to bottom then so be it, its only a few months away and will be good to get some cheap prices for Bitcoin and alts.

Curious to know what we all think, do we think we are in for a red summer or are we near the bottom at $62k?
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Algorand vs Sei. on: May 29, 2026, 08:58:06 AM
I have been investing in Algorand for a while now and hoping it goes lower to buy cheap but it keeps recovering quickly which is frustrating.

It hit a year low of 8 cents earlier in the year and i bought a bit then but not enough and waiting for it to go back down to that level again but not sure if it will. It is currently 12 cents.

The current market cap is $1B, and i do think it can 10x over the next few years to $10B.

I am just wondering if i should keep buying Algorand or if i should split it and start investing in Sei too as its half the market cap so feel it will see bigger returns next few years compared to Algorand.

Does anyone hold either of these?   I don't know too much about Sei, but have noticed more and more talking about it in recent months.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Quant. on: April 27, 2026, 10:01:53 AM
I have been holding Quant for a few years now and to be honest been disappointed with how little it has done during that time.

It didn't have any meaningful pump in the last year or two like other RWA plays did such as XRP and Hbar and im not sure why but i will continue to DCA while price is this low and hold hoping for a better next few years.

Everyone says how scarce Bitcoin is with only 21m supply, but Quant is even more scarce with only 14.8m supply.

The scarce supply was one of the reasons i started investing in it but with the lack of price movement last few years it tells me it needs a lot more than scarcity to do well.

For me a realistic price target for next 2 years is $1.5k which is over a 20x return from current $70 price.  I think that's realistic as would still only be a $18b market cap at a price of $1.5k.

Hbar hit $13b market cap last year, so don't see why Quant cant hit that and more next few years.

Anyone else hold it or have any thoughts on it?  I research it a few times each week and many say it can even hit $5k next few years but im more on the cautious side and will be happy with $1.5k.
7  Economy / Speculation / Bitcoin expectations by 2030. on: April 07, 2026, 02:40:45 PM
So it looks like Bitcoin is still following the 4 year cycle hitting the $126k high back in October last year.

I am just curious however, was $126k expected or was it a let down overall and we should have expected much more?

From the 2017 high to 2021 high, Bitcoin pumped 250% but from 2021 high to 2025 high it only pumped 80%.

Does this mean Bitcoins returns are going to reduce every 4 year high going forward or was Bitcoin held back in 2025? If so, what held it back?

If Q4 in 2029 is to be the next expected high, what should we be expecting? $200k? $300k?
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Algorand. on: April 03, 2026, 07:01:58 AM
I have held Algorand for a while and currently down 45% from my average buy despite it pumping 50% this last week.

I had planned to buy a nice bag of it around $0.08 last week and almost did but it’s now shot up to $0.12 in less than a week after some good news with it being named the leading blockchain for quantum security.

At only $1B market cap and 89% of its supply in circulation I still think it is a good buy but kicking myself now for not at least buying below $0.09 last few weeks.

Anyone else like it? I think it’s here to stay and can see it doing a 10x at least from current price next few years.

I’m hoping it cools off soon so I can buy some more around $0.10.

9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Sei. on: April 02, 2026, 10:03:07 AM
Anyone invested in this or at least know of it?

Looking for a new altcoin in the current top 100 to invest in while these prices are near the bottom.

Only $350m market cap and 70% of its supply in circulation so pretty good tokenomics.

Currently down 95% from its $1 all time high so feels like a good time to get in as feel it will get back to that $1 high in next bull run.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Bittensor (Tao) - Number 1 AI pick on: February 13, 2026, 12:06:53 PM
Looking at the AI category on Coinmarketcap Bittensor (TAO) is currently number 1 with a $1.6B market cap.

I have heard many say this can be the number 1 for many years and potentially hit $50b market cap by 2029.

I don't know too much about it, but thinking if we are in a bear market now for many months then I will start buying if it falls down to $1b market cap to then hopefully see pretty good returns next few years.

Anyone invested? Do we think it can hit $50b next few years or is it overhyped?
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Alts crashing , how bad is your portfolio looking? on: February 05, 2026, 07:08:23 PM
What an awful day for alts, it’s felt like it’s been awful forever but my portfolio has just hit lowest it has ever been at -44%.

I am just holding for now but planning to buy some top alts soon as these prices are too tempting.

Curious to know how other altcoin investors are holding up? How down are you?? How long do we think we have till the market bounces? I’m thinking we have at least a few more months of this.
12  Economy / Speculation / Bitcoin in 2026? on: February 02, 2026, 11:49:51 AM
So, it doesn't look good right now does it with Bitcoin falling below $75k this morning. I am curious to see who is bullish and who is bearish for the rest of 2026 and why?

I personally am pretty unsure right now, at the start of the year I felt we would have at least a bearish Q1 and it has started off that way but was hoping from Q2 or Q3 we might go back up again with QE and more rate cuts coming in the summer but im not sure now if that will make any difference as the whole sentiment just feels very bearish right now with many giving up.

If we are in a bear market, then we are almost 4 months into it and I've read lately many saying the bottom might come in Q2 before we head up again, do we think that's possible?

Is there any hope for 2nd half of 2026 being green or are we expecting a bear market till end of year?

13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / ZBCN (Zebec Network) on: January 29, 2026, 12:34:28 PM
I am looking for a new altcoin to invest in while prices are low and have come across ZBCN on Coinbase.

Currently $270m market cap which is pretty low so feel it has room to grow, good that its on Coinbase and all of its supply is in circulation so that's good too.

I have had a quick look on coinmarketcap and looks like quite a few are bullish on it just wondering if anyone else is invested or even knows of it?

I will add it to my watchlist for now and if it falls down to around $200m market cap next few months then I may start to DCA into it.

14  Economy / Speculation / Bitcoin 2026 - bullish or bearish? on: December 10, 2025, 10:48:30 AM
Just 3 weeks now till we enter 2026 are we bullish or bearish?

With a third rate cut expected today in the last 3 months and QT over with QE coming next year, I am leaning towards bullish and want to understand why some are bearish?

2025 has been an average year for Bitcoin and an awful year for altcoins so why would it be again with better macro conditions coming next year?

We may have a slow start to 2026 but I feel from Q2 or Q3 it will turn bullish.
15  Economy / Speculation / Bitcoin new highs or bear market? on: November 17, 2025, 04:32:52 PM
It feels very mixed lately with many saying we are heading to a bear market while others saying this is just a normal 25% pullback for bitcoin on the way up to new highs.

I am leaning more towards this being a normal pullback on the way to new highs but of course nothing is guaranteed and with the 4 year cycle likely over now, it feels very hard to read the market now and have any idea what is happening from week to week.

QT is ending in 2 weeks, QE will start sometime early next year so that's a positive and we have had the longest government shutdown in US history over the last 6 weeks which has caused doubt in the market but now that its open again should only help.

For me i am just holding right now, i have bought some at these low prices but not much and wont be panic selling anything yet. I would have more regret selling now and the market pumping again then if i was to have to just hold through a bear market.

How is everyone feeling?  Are we in a bear market now or can we see new highs in the coming months?

16  Economy / Speculation / Rate cut today - what are we expecting for Bitcoin? on: October 29, 2025, 11:25:09 AM
So 99% chance apparently of another rate cut coming later today.

Are we thinking this will increase the price of Bitcoin straight away towards the $125k high or will it take time?
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Is altseason still possible by end of 2025? on: October 24, 2025, 12:06:16 PM
With 10 weeks to go now of 2025, some might feel that is not much time but its still 10 weeks, a lot can happen during that time but is altseason still likely?

For those who were here in 2020/2021, how long did altseason last? Ive heard it only really lasts a month or two and if that is correct then we could still see it by year end?

With another rate cut due in only 5 days now, QT ending, China & Russia possibly agreeing tarrifs next week too, it sounds like there is some hope for a good end of year.

What are we thinking currently? Can we fit an altseason in before end of year or this likely going into Q1 now?

Or are there many of us on here who feel altseason will not even come?

I feel we will have some kind of altseason, but dont expect it to be as big as 2021.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Latest thoughts on potential altseason? on: September 24, 2025, 08:30:59 AM
Are we still thinking Q4 will bring us an altseason?   I think it will, but I am just not sure how big it will be compared to 2021.

We now only have 7 days until Q4 is here and it with it typically being a very good quarter for crypto, I am hoping to finally cash out of my altcoins.

What is the general thoughts on this? Do we think the cycle top will come by end of year or are we possibly looking at Q1 next year like some are now saying?

19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Crypto.com - best way to sell/withdraw when it comes to fees? on: August 28, 2025, 01:49:01 PM
I have been buying Crypto.com coin (Cronos) last few years, my average was $0.08 and just sold my first 10% on the exchange at $0.36.

This is the first time i have sold anything on there and the fee after selling on the exchange, sending the USDC back to the app and then withdrawing to my bank was 2.5% and just wondering if this is normal or if there is a better way of selling to save on fees in the future?
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Altcoins - not selling too early. on: July 18, 2025, 05:36:53 AM
The first half of 2025 was awful for our altcoins but in the last 3 or 4 weeks they have started to finally wake up with my own altcoin portfolio +65% since middle of June.

XRP just hit a new all time high less than 12 hours ago, ETH is outperforming Bitcoin , things are starting to look good. But I haven’t sold anything yet as feel this is just the start.

I believe Bitcoin will hit $150k + in the next 2-3 months and we will experience some kind of altseason. Many say this altseason will not be as big as previous years but that’s still fine if that’s the case, we can still expect great returns.

I am just not sure when it comes to taking profits, personally I am not selling any until ETH gets close to its all time high and with it currently at $3,650 it is on a good run but still 35% away from that ATH.

Some of my altcoins are nearly up 100% last few weeks, but due to them falling so much in the first 6 months of 2025 that doesn’t feel anything special yet, they are just making their way back to levels they were at previously before Trump and his tariffs started crashing the markets back in April.

For those mainly in Altcoins like me, when do you plan to start taking profits?
