1  Other / Meta / Too fast/Overloaded (503) on: July 31, 2023, 11:03:53 PM
I tried going through the forum as usual, with different tabs all open at the same time. This error message just popped up almost twice today, which is the first time I have experienced that. Is there a limit to how many threads one can open at once?
Has anyone encountered such an error before?
2  Economy / Scam Accusations / Scam targeting Metamask wallet user's on: June 09, 2023, 07:01:05 PM
I just got a message from some scammer claiming to be Metamask with the statement that my Metamask wallet needs an upgrade.
Some questions just bomb into my head.

How ??
How can Metamask need an upgrade that requires them to send me a message?
How does Metamask even get in touch with my email?
Or do the scammers think users need to create an account with Metamask before they can use it? Or maybe Metamask looks like a centralized exchange for them, or they don't actually know how the blockchain system works. I overlooked the message the first time, and I still got it on my second email.

I moved the mail to my Apple device, which I don't use for anything relating to financial transactions. I clicked on the link provided by the scammers for the upgrade process.
I was even expecting some kind of random cloned Metamask auto-download stuff or anything of that nature, or maybe they can just show me a blank window explaining why they are accessing my entire device. But what I saw was an open form for me to use my hand and type in my 12-word phrase, which is handing my wallet access over to the scammer or using the private key option.

3  Other / Meta / Bug's or April fool ?? on: April 01, 2023, 06:15:23 AM
I've been seeing all this warning since yesterday, after the April Fool's notification of 1000 merits received from Satoshi this morning.
I just decided to ask if this is a bug or part of the April fool'sjoke.
4  Other / Off-topic / Rooted Mobile Device on: March 05, 2023, 11:01:46 AM
I am not a programmer or developer, but I take some warnings very seriously, especially when they pertain to where my assets are. I saw this on a friend's phone earlier today, and I asked him how long this had been, and he said a few weeks ago. I advise him to move his funds over to a safer device if he has a mobile wallet on it, and since he is a day trader, he should use his iOS until I figure this out.

How can this rooting be removed from this device? If the phone is flashed and everything is wiped out, will the device be safe again? What amount of damage can a rooted device cause him?
I always believe I will get the best answers here.
5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin ATM Deposit Exchange Rate shocks on: March 03, 2023, 01:51:40 AM

Hearing about Bitcoin ATM machines in advanced countries makes me think it's the best and cheapest way to deposit and send crypto, especially for those who know little about crypto and don't want their identity revealed when buying it.

My cousin over in the U.S. wants to send me a few dollars from the US down here.
I suggested she buy cryptocurrency and send it over because the exchange rate is higher when I receive it in cryptocurrency rather than a direct bank deposit (CBN). She decided to use the ATM to deposit Bitcoin because it was closer to her and easier to use—no identity verification was required.

I just went through the receipts today and realized the machine price rate is far different from the real market price of 30,130 USD per bitcoin.

Out of the $1,000 deposited in cash
BTC worth $7,000 was only deposited to the provided address.
The same thing happened with 1,800 dollars' worth of bitcoin, and only 1377 dollars' worth of bitcoin was received at the address.
People's necks are being cut by these machines.

If this is how it's normally charged.. then I can't advise anyone to use ATMs to deposit bitcoin but rather buy a Bitcoin crypto card from Walmart shops.
6  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Accord surrender there Vote for LP presidential candidate (Peter Obi) on: February 25, 2023, 09:04:07 AM

Source

Lots of electoral threads are open here; I don't even know where to fit in this news.

What do you guys think about this move by Accord?
Even if they have a plan to surrender for Mr. Peter, why do it just hours before the election?

7  Other / Off-topic / Caution on: February 20, 2023, 07:36:36 PM
I took out my mobile phone today and tried to clean up some space from the storage so that I could use it for movie purposes. I slid in my old telegram, which I used for airdrop back then, and with a network connection on it, a message popped in immediately.
Click on the link and message the said user, who sent me a link to join and create an account, which I did since I don't have anything valuable or intend to use the phone for anything serious.
registered with a fake email, which was a success. No confirmation code was sent, though it was an invalid email, and the page was sent to the user.
And I was asked to make a deposit and start earning 5% of my deposited amount every 24 hours.

8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Helped my neighbor to purchase some Bitcoins on: February 13, 2023, 10:44:28 AM
There are people for whom the only way they have heard about crypto currency is from being referred to an airdrop by friends or through online ads, and this is my neighbor, who is one of them. I live in a rented apartment where others are also living. There is this guy who is kind of close to me. I'm always active online with either my phone or computer, which always made him ask me questions like, "What are you always busy doing online with your phone or computer?" Abi you don they do fraud?" I told him I'm a Bitcoiner, and I am also learning online. has ask how can he become a holder, I told him it's simple but the risk is huge. made him understand that holding Bitcoin is simple, but the risk of losing your starting capital is high, and that before you can consider buying and holding Bitcoin, you should prepare your mind to count loss sometimes, which can later turn to profit if you don't sell out of panic. Ask him to go and think about it first before rushing into it, and when he has come to a conclusion and is ready to accept the risk and take responsibility for anything himself, he should let me know.

Yesterday, while watching a Manchester United match together, he brought out the topic again and told me he had some spare cash he was willing to risk, which he called a "bold step."
Today I helped him purchase bitcoin using Binance P2P, and it was a success. The crypto was deposited into his funding wallet. since he was already participating in airdrops and had a crypto wallet on his phone. I asked him to copy out all the phrases from the old wallet into his mobile wallet and back it up in a safe place where he would be the only one to access it. When he was done, I asked him to wipe the app data, and the mobile wallet was as clean as a new wallet. switch off the internet connection and create a new wallet again. After the successful creation of the wallet, I asked him to write down the new phrase and safe-keep it again, which he did successfully. We then generated a new Bitcoin address, which was used to withdraw the purchased Bitcoin to his private wallet, over which he has control.
He asked me why not just leave the coin on Binance so that when ever he wants to sell it, he can just use the same method; that's when I brought to his notice "Not your key, not your coin," and he was convinced.

9  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Atiku campaign group to call for Wike's suspension from PDP on: February 12, 2023, 08:33:16 AM
Quote
The Atiku Solution, a campaign support group working for the victory of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has called on the party to take a decisive action on Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike.Speaking in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State capital, on Saturday, the Deputy Chairman, The Atiku Solution (TAS), Mr Christopher Abarowei, said the party is supreme hence Wike should respect the party, its leadership and right of other persons. Abarowei, who is also a member of the Elders’ Council of the Ijaw National Congress (INC), therefore urged the National Working Committee (NWC) of the PDP to act immediately and caution Wike either persuasively or wield the punitive stick of sanction on him either by suspension or expulsion from the PDP.
Why will these two people be having issues with each other when they are supposed to be on the same page? The reason being that they are in the same political party (PDP). This motion they move against Wike by the Atiku campaign committee, I believe, is because of the dismissal of the approved site for the presidential candidate campaign, which was scheduled to hold on the 14th of February 2023. According to the River State Governor, his claims for the cancellation were based on the information he received that the proposed site was going to be used by both the PDP and APC political parties and that it would result in campaign violence, etc. To me, I believe that from the start, the River State Governor was never going to support his political party's choice of representative for the presidential candidate. There are photos and videos of the River's State Governor parading along side the Labour Party's presidential candidate, Peter Obi, which many are saying he is indirectly campaigning for the opposing political party.
10  Economy / Reputation / First Bitcoin earning (Signature) on: February 08, 2023, 09:47:15 AM
Looking back at how I started on this forum, after registration I left the account for some months with the fear of what to post and what not to post, before I made a move and dropped my first question, which lots of DT members and others helped me clear my fear of, and since then I have been learning day after day in this forum without feeling reluctant about how to post, new technologies, the blockchain in general, and all that.
Without much expectation, I was able to see my member rank, which I sometimes believe is difficult to achieve, but I achieved it by just being myself, just as I was advised to be.

My first Signature My application was on my Junior Member rank, which I was accepted for, and the pay was supposed to be the project token, but due to not meeting the required post count and other circumstances, I missed the entire two weeks.

My 2nd and my first Signature pay is SellDefi managed by @Royse777 which the campaign lasted for about 2 weeks, which I fully participated in, after my first week payment, which did not arrive on time but later did after I created a thread regarding a bitcoin deposit that had not arrived, and I learned a lot from the thread too.

I am a Bitcoin holder, which I bought on different occasions and for different purposes, and which I am also holding in different wallets.  This is my first Bitcoin payment that I have received since learning about crypto. I have received other forms of crypto payment though. I'm just happy about this, and to me, it's worth celebrating.

To some degree, I am still a newbie and my learning process is advancing to other levels, especially in the aspect of post quality improvement. @Royse777 never complained about it 😏, but within myself, I know I need to work a little more on these.
11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Bitcoin Offline Wallet on: February 01, 2023, 10:57:56 PM
I have about four different multi-wallets that I created with Trust Wallet, SafePal, and Metamask; one is just for altcoins and other cryptos, and the other three are just for bitcoin. I don't have any bitcoin wallets that haven't already been mentioned, and I'd like to know if it's possible to create a bitcoin-only wallet that doesn't require a desktop APP, works offline (because Windows wasn't purchased from a trusted party), and can be protected by a passcode or password. because I want to transfer all of my bitcoin holdings from my trust wallet to a more secure wallet that has higher security.
Read-only paper and hardware wallets are the best, but getting my hands on a hardware wallet now won't be fast or easy because of my location. Every piece of advice and suggestion will be highly appreciated.

12  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Bitcoin Deposit not appear on: February 01, 2023, 07:31:07 AM
I have been in crypto for a long time now, and I have created a series of wallets for different purposes. I am really confused about what I saw yesterday; someone should please explain it to me. I created this Bitcoin wallet recently using a Trust wallet, which I used for my first signature registration. checked the wallet and saw zero deposits on it, but when I scanned it through
Blockchain There was only one transaction recorded, a deposit of 16.8$ worth of BTC, but the balance remains empty.
How could this be possible, please?

13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Physical Bitcoin Shop in Port Harcourt (Nigeria) on: December 15, 2022, 01:22:17 PM
Was having a walk around Port Harcourt Yesterday if I can see something I can get for myself as a birthday present when I came across a Bitcoin shop by the roadside, out of curiosity I walked inside the shop, and ask if they sell  and buy Bitcoin which they said yes..
I ask for rate and they said #712 per 1$ which is lower than what I usually buy online, I said okay I want to buy 1000$ which they calculated it to be a total of 720,000.000 in my local currency.
An account was given to me which was a personal accounts, I then asked why the account don't have the business name, they said it was because of the regulation in the country to avoid story that touches.
And I paid the balance with my other account.
Once the payment was confirmed they asked for my deposit address which I gave them my Binance BTC deposit address and btc worth 1000$ was sent to my wallet immediately which is currently worth 1006$ as of the time of this post now.
After I confirmed the transaction that was when I left the shop and consider that purchase as my birthday present.

Am planning on holding for long till my next year birthday which is 15th December 2023.

Don't know if moving the BTC to my trust wallet or looking for a hardware wallet which one will be better off for such small amount which I planned to hold for a long period.

Happy birthday to my self.
14  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / How does Bitcoin Under Bep-20 works ? on: December 12, 2022, 08:13:47 AM
Since I joined this forum I have learned a lot and I have also put most in practice why learning more from enlightened forum members here.
I have Bitcoin wallet which I use in receiving transaction from Bitcoin blockchain. And I also have Bep-20 address which I receive Bitcoin with as well directly into my Binance account.
I run a local P2P trade in my locality with my trusted friends and those they refer.
I find the Bep-20 BTC deposit as the fastest way to receive and send Bitcoin directly into any centralized exchange account that supports it.

Their was a little argument with one of my Client yesterday which I told him all transaction are being recorded in the blockchain irrespective of which chain that it is, the argument made me to scan through one of my customers wallet to prove my point, all the Bitcoin I sent to the user wallet through Bitcoin blockchain were all visible on https://www.blockchain.com/explorer

When I moved ahead to scan the Bep-20 address under Binance scan, I could not find any BTC transaction both in and out of the wallet, nothing related to btc was on that wallet.

My question here is, are their other ways of scanning Bitcoin Bep-20 which is different from the Binance scan?

Me sending to the receivers address from my Bundle wallet.

15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Newbie trading believe on: October 30, 2022, 08:04:07 AM
No matter how hard things are for you, no matter the circumstances and condition in your company and  organization everyone just  have to wait till the end of the month before you can ask for your monthly salary.

So why?

Do people comes into crypto space and expect daily cashout 💸 💰 this is one of best lie about crypto Market 🤔 😀

It's not possible to have a daily cashout from the market , but lots of new traders thinks when you invest in Crypto today by tomorrow they should be expecting something huge.

One of friends  will always say "your papa no be the developer". It takes a bigger time frame to make massive profit in the crypto market 📈

But with Good strategies your sure the market will surely favor you. Trade strategically trade wisely.
