Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / The confidentiality of having Bitcoin
on: March 19, 2023, 04:48:24 PM

Very recently in my country, there has been an upsurge in scarcity of fiat money, The world is evolving and so also every spheres of life keeps advancing. It is no longer a novelle thing that carrying cash has its limitations and does harm than good, examining the current finding made by the Nigerian government. This is the more reason the Nigerian government presently adopts the Cashless policy which is aimed at reducing the issues of kidnapping, corruption and insecurities in the country. A lot of people can barely withdraw their money, the banks are not ready to give you money in large sum, people go as far as buying the countries currency notes, this situation has made a lot of people go into untold financial crisis, because a large chunk of the population are heavy dependent on fiat money. Even the banking system are not prepared for the cashless policy this I understand by the series of network failures and lost of money by bank customers through electronic cash transactions.
This whole situation reminds me of the beauty Bitcoin has brought, a decentralised currency that makes your financial life self-controlling, government innuendos doesn't affect it in any way, because at all times, your in control of your asset. Cryptocurrency as a financial digital currency has made a huge impact in the present world. Bitcoin the most popular coin which has made numerous individual in attaining their financial goals. Cases of excessive control by the centralized financial systems has made number of persons loose their faith in their financial institution as the safety of their finances is not guaranteed. In the case of BTC, the security of ones investment is prioritized because your details is confidential to oneself alone. It's like owning your own future without external interference, and I suggest that some of the financial crisis most of these developing countries are facing can be resolved through their adoption of bitcoin in their country just as El Salvador did and are having a positive impact of it on their economy.

Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin class with my students.
on: February 17, 2023, 05:18:50 AM
I'm a high school teacher. I was given the opportunity to assess my students understanding of bitcoin today after class. I was shocked to find that most of them knew very little or nothing about it. Since the majority looked interested and willing to learn more, I made the decision to explain the concept as well as practical examples. When the lecture was over, I was thrilled that I had introduced the subject because many of them were enthusiastic and had asked wonderful questions. In the next two to three years, some of them will grow to be adult, and it's good to let them know about some financial decisions and actions they will take as they are growing into adulthood. I also made sure to tell them not to engage into it for now not until they have have grown to have a much more wider understanding of he system. Cause there are cons as much as pros in it.. Other / Politics & Society / Facebook And Instagram reinstate Donald trump's account
on: January 25, 2023, 11:11:58 PM
Facebook and Instagram have restored the accounts of former president Donald Trump. After two years of suspending the social media accounts of the former president of the United States of America Donald trump, today his accounts has been reinstated. In January 2021, he was permanently banned from both sites as a result of his post regarding the disturbances at the US Capitol, he called the thundreds of his supporters that invaded the US capitol complex "patriot ". That didn't resonate well with a lot of American's, because that invasion lead to the death of about four civilians and a police man. So far that, his social media accounts where all suspended, but today what we are seeing in the news is that, his both account for Instagram and Facebook has been reinstated but for his Twitter account, there hasn't been any news on that yet. Though Some people believes his reinstatement is connected to next year's elections, because fingers are already pointed at him to be a strong contestant, so reinstating his accounts will help him spread his campaign tentacles. So guys what do you think, is his reinstatement connected to the forth coming elections or not? https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2023-01-25/trump-reinstated-to-facebook-instagram-after-two-year-ban

Local / Nigeria (Naija) / The fuel crisis issue in Nigeria and what I found out.
on: January 21, 2023, 10:52:34 AM
I was able to make some inquiry as to why, we buy fuel at exorbitant amount and still yet the product is not available to buy.
There has been some lingering issue between the independent marketers, NNPC, NUPENG AND PENGASSAN.
on the side of government it is said that, government makes this product available on a subsidized rate, that is government, takes our crude oil overseas, refines it and sell it at a given price, which is officially 140 naira per litre to independent product marketers which in turn sell it at 150 to retailers, and retailers sell it 165 and. (official government rate). Now here is the intriguing part
On a normal scenario, NNPC upon bringing this refined product to Nigeria, they are supposed to take it to the government owned depot, so that the government scheduled price will be implemented. But rather, NNPC takes this product to private depot and sell it at 180 naira, those private depot sell this product at 190 naira And above to retailers, that is why some retailers are selling around 200 and something Naira and above.
As at today, there is a memo by NNPC, that is going round, that the price of the product has increased to 185, it then means some of us will continue to buy this product at 200 and something Naira and above.

Other / Politics & Society / What are those uncharitably characters that has been normalised?
on: January 20, 2023, 11:20:23 AM
As the days goes by, a lot of things has changed, the human desire has also changed too, in psychology of adjustment, is been said that, humans can adapt or adjust to any kind of lifestyle for either survival or for association.
But there are recently change in character and Principles of certain human beings that I find toxic and uncharitable which the society is comforting to it. For example, a teacher will be teaching in the class, the next thing you will see, is a student walking up to the teacher spewing all manner of insult on the teacher, the next minute another guy is recording the scene and you will hear fellow students laughing on the background, couple of minutes later, the video on the the internet, and you see people viewing it as a comical content and laughing over it.
You can as well go for a party with friends and the drinks on the menu for you guys are all alcohol, even when they know you don't drink alcohol or having in mind that not everyone coming for the party will drink alcohol, and then nobody is raising an eyebrow, everyone will just conform to it.
You are welcome to share your own experience about toxic things, you think the society has normalized.

Other / Politics & Society / How to Sustain a new year resolution
on: January 11, 2023, 07:33:18 AM
How to keep a resolution for the new year Similar to last year, we have made resolutions for the new year as it is the beginning of the year. Due to the fact that you failed to keep your resolutions from prior years, you may have stopped making resolutions altogether. You weren't unable to keep those resolutions because you were unmotivated or incapable; rather, it was because you never gave it much attention. Here are some strategies for sustaining ones New Year's resolution.
Make resolutions that you can actually achieve. You cannot set goals based only on your desires. Write down your resolutions on a sticky note or in your diary so that you can remember them every day. Even better, set a calendar reminder. Every day, make progress toward that goal. For example, if one of your goals for the new year is to read two books every month, start by reading at least one page each day. To check off everyone you managed to do, use an app or calendar. Finally, keep going; whether you skip a day or a month, it makes no difference; just pick up where you left off.
You can add your own suggestions.

Other / Politics & Society / Is democracy a tool used to undermine the people's will, Brazil as case study .
on: January 09, 2023, 01:47:34 PM
Democracy was first introduced by the Americans, as government of the people by the people and for the people. A situation where by, whoever the majority decide's to vote, that person will be declared winner, either for election, selection or any kind contest, because there is a saying that, the voice of the people is the voice of God( Vox populi, vox Dei). This method of selection of leadership was adopted by several countries across the globe including Brazil, (theirs is representative Democracy). But Recent occasions has shown that, the modern day democracy is about undermining the will of the majority votes, a situation where the apparatus of state is unleashed to make sure the majority doesn't have their way. Today Brazil is in serious turmoil because of the actions of their electoral umpire, Which majority of Brazilian citizens believe rigged the election and announced what they claimed is not their choice. Currently there is an ongoing protest rocking the cities of Brazil, government house's have been occupied by protesters, Roads are blocked and several civil unrest currently going on now in Brazil. Brazil is not the only country to experience this kind of situation, there are lots of countries going through this. And I ask, is Democracy a tool used to undermine the people's will?

Other / Politics & Society / Why does celebrity marriage frequently end in divorce?
on: January 06, 2023, 09:20:56 PM
Why does celebrity divorce happen so frequently in our today's society? we have realized that a significant portion of celebrity marriages fail. This is the inquiry that has been posed by numerous individuals in the past. Some people think that living the life of a celebrity gives one a stronger sense of control. Some people also think that it is harder to develop sincerity because of the celebrity way of life. Some also think that the celebrity lifestyle is a byproduct of capitalism, some also argues that infidelity might be a major factor as to why celebrity couples marriages don't last.
