1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / New type of consensus on: January 31, 2023, 08:09:19 PM

2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / New type of blockchain on: January 31, 2023, 06:50:08 PM
I have been working on a new type of decentralized consensus protocol capable of competing with CBDC incentives to spend as daily currency(currently calling proof of presence). The network works synergistically with bitcoin as a long term value store and fully decentralized daily digital transaction medium.

Utilizing a new type of consensus mechanism the network is modelled after living systems such as mycelium and the stock market. In terms of mycelium the main thing that was referenced is the way in which the system receives environmental input(nutrients) and adapts it’s next system state to optimize for nutrients access.(search Japanese fungus subway experiment)

Instead of distributing nutrients for growth (mycelium) this consensus(PoP) is defined by proportional contributions to network traffic. In other words the system is built around optimizing network traffic and communication . If people are encouraging and contributing to network traffic they are increasing network value. As a result they should be rewarded proportionally as to further increase network value into the future. This model allows the network to grow similar to a living organism with transactions acting as potential nutrients for system growth and adaptation. Additionally as computation and networking capabilities improve the network will become capable of higher transaction speeds as well as higher network loads. This means separate from software, the network will naturally get faster and more efficient as the technology that makes up the network becomes more advanced.

I am looking to build a founding community of  members to ensure the initial ownership is distributed as widespread as possible right from the moment the network goes live. The goal is not to sell the currency but to distribute it.  A more broadly spread initial distribution allows for higher network security and accessibility. For this reason the vast majority of initial network equity will be distributed for free to people interested in participating in the community. In this community I will be willing to discuss further details on protocol function. This is to protect protocol integrity and limit risk of potential dishonest imitations.

I am not usually the greatest at communicating things clearly so please feel free to message me with any questions

To summarize

Bitcoin = long term storage
PoP network protocol = traffic optimization network = daily digital transaction medium

Bitcoin + PoP = fully decentralized transaction ecosystem completely out of central control
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Best platform for virtual Communities on: January 30, 2023, 10:39:01 PM
With the state of trust on discord I was wondering what everyone thinks the best platform for online communities currently is?
4  Other / Off-topic / Knowledgable on decentralized consensus? on: January 26, 2023, 02:28:28 PM
I want to create a community or thread/forum for discussing new decentralized consensus methods. I was wondering if anyone would be interested?
5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Issues with Proof-of-Work on: January 26, 2023, 05:41:12 AM
after doing dev work with ethereum and bitcoin it seems that both consensus options are blatantly fairly flawed. POW has obvious scaling issues and POS seems like a bandaid solution with wealthy people automatically being allocated more currency through an infinitely compounding cycle. Is the crypto/blockchain community not open to new type of consensus? It seems like POW and POS just keep getting updated rather than addressing the real issue and switching base mechanisms. Do others just not see issues with POW or POS?
6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / would bitcoin be capable of switching consensus methods on: January 26, 2023, 05:13:46 AM
If a new consensus method came along that was undeniably more efficient would bitcoin be able to come together enough to agree and make the change across the entire network?
7  Bitcoin / Project Development / new consensus method on: January 26, 2023, 04:50:31 AM
in the midst of working a new type of decentralized consensus modelled after the way mycelium processes nutrients. It treats the network like a living system with transactions acting as network nutrients. Im looking for people who are able to point out potential security risks I may be missing before I make the network live.
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Can bitcoin compete with CBDC's? on: January 26, 2023, 04:38:34 AM
With the current state of market trust what will incentivize the average person to use bitcoin over a CBDC?

Since banks can control supply they can use inflation and other mechanisms to encourage spending. Bitcoin on the other hand requires additional layers to handle even the current network traffic and lacks incentive for day to day transaction use.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / New consensus method based on fungal mycelium on: January 25, 2023, 11:37:02 PM
Focusing on living systems such as mycelium and the stock market for reference, I have been working on a new approach to decentralized consensus(not based in Proof-of-Work, Proof-of-Stake, cryptographic randomness). I am building an equal opportunity protocol that mimics adaptive mechanisms found in mycelium and throughout nature. Instead of utilizing a node selection function (POW and POS) all proposals are evaluated using an algorithm that quantifies current network participation and propagates the most ideal/efficient proposal for the next network state. The network becomes marginally slower at scale with higher use, however, if nodes are comfortable utilizing additional sockets this can be mitigated. Initial distribution will be distributed broadly based on Satoshi's original vision with true decentralized value exchange being an integral piece of a free digital market. Current digital currencies not only fail at scale but also when it comes to inherently encouraging network use.

Current consensus methods are partial solutions that will not scale favorably for maintaining freedom how they are currently designed. With a global recession and economic collapse pending, the coming years are essential for implementing a true decentralized solution. It is imperative this system is launched in a broadly decentralized fashion so the network can maintain functional fairness and accessibility at scale and long term. For this reason I am looking to build a founding network of people who are interested in dividing the founding ownership of something that I believe will become fundamental in building a free and sustainable digital economy. Anyone that believes they may have something to bring to the founding network or knows of someone who might please message me. Also, if you have recommendations on what you believe is the best way to launch a decentralized protocol please also feel free to message. In the coming weeks I will be publicizing the white-paper followed by the protocol documentation and reference client. I will be developing and releasing all of these on my own accord at which point the network/protocol will become community run.

When the white-paper is made public I can post a link on this thread for anyone else that is interested.

In the meantime I am willing to answer general questions about the protocol and what it aims to accomplish as well as any others you may have anytime in my personal discord. Please message me if you are interested or have any questions.
