1  Economy / Speculation / Cool chart pr0n for bears on: July 04, 2013, 10:36:23 PM
Look at that weekly RSI back at the end of 2011.  Now look at the right side of the picture, notice RSI there, and the MACD cross.  Increasing red weekly candles.

Does any of this mean anything?

Seriously; I'm no professional by any means.  But this looks bearish to me.

5  Bitcoin / Hardware / Just received official email from BFL, my Jale's are on the way... on: May 01, 2013, 10:32:51 PM
FINALLY.  Only been waiting since 9/2012.

6  Economy / Computer hardware / [WTS] 2x 5830 & 2x 5870, all work but have fan problems on: March 28, 2013, 09:17:05 AM
2x -- Sapphire (i think that's the brand) Radeon 5830, one has no fan at all, and the other the fan sticks but turns sometimes (not enough to keep it adequately cool for my taste)
2x -- Gigabyte Radeon 5870 (both have the dual-fan cooling, and on each there is one fan that is broken and removed, still seems to stay cool with just the one fan)

Pics upon request.

I'm thinking $100 each on the 5870s, $70 each on the 5830s.  Make me some offers.  Will accept PayPal or BTC.

ALSO:  I have the highly sought-after MSI 890FXA-GD70 mobo for sale... in questionable condition.  It had a few drops of wine spilled on it, but i cleaned it up with isopropyl.  It turns on and all the lights come on like they're supposed to, but nothing came on the monitor.  It may have just been a short -- I will test this board again if anyone is interested in making an offer on it.  Otherwise it will just stay stored away for the time being.

Thanks for reading, feel free to PM me!
7  Economy / Computer hardware / [WTS] Various 58xx / all have fan issues on: March 05, 2013, 03:03:01 PM
All four of these cards have fan issues -- three of them stick, and then one has no fan at all.  Make offers, separately or any combo:

1)  AMD ATI Radeon HD 5870 1GB, s/n == 180948047131

2)  (2x) AMD HD5830 Xtreme 1G GDDR5 (one has no fan at all, the other has sticking issues), p/n == 299-1E174-330SA

3)  Same design as #2 above, except 5870, p/n 299-1E140-040BD

Pictures later / upon request

11  Bitcoin / Mining support / need help going headless on: December 29, 2012, 05:10:44 PM
hello,

i've been mining for some time now (a little over a year) and i have only been familiar with windows in the past (mostly xp).  well when i started mining, then i started using linux.  So i'm kind of a linux noob, but i catch on quick.  So now I'm running Xubuntu 12.04 using CGMiner, and I want to go headless.  I already apt-get installed the ssh on the one rig.  My question is:  How do I then ssh into my rigs (from for example my windows laptop) to see how the CGMiner is doing, etc?  I have googled this problem up and down, and all the results are way too complex / too much information.  It's really just a simple problem -- maybe there's a simple piece of software I can install on my windows lappy in order to ssh into the mining rig?

Thankis for any information you can provide.
12  Economy / Currency exchange / CRYPTOXCHANGE ARE CROOKS, WITHDRAW YOUR MONEY NOW on: October 16, 2012, 06:45:40 PM
So I was lured by the high exchange rates; well I sold my BTC on Cryptox for a higher rate than at gox... little did i know, there's no way to move my funds out of there in any other form besides BTC... So, I went to log in today, with intent to buy BTC at a loss, so that I could move my funds, and the fuckers have disabled my userid!!!  I did not change my password; same password as far as I know -- and I only have like $220 USD in there...  Well now I can't even contact their poor excuse for "customer support" -- I don't know if my IP is blocked or what, but when I try to access cryptox website from my laptop, it will not load now... wtf is this shit???  I just wanted the best price, now all my money is gone... Thank you CrookToX, I will be sleeping in public restrooms for the next couple months because you stole my rent... fuck this crooked fucking shit!

14  Economy / Speculation / Protecting the money on: April 18, 2012, 03:12:09 AM
is it time to pull out all the stops?

Do yall have your longs in BTC for increased leverage, or USD now to protect against downspikes?  Talking about bitcoinica here
15  Economy / Speculation / No amount of logic, reason, or analysis can accurately predict BTC price anymore on: March 12, 2012, 02:43:34 AM
...
(wow, I'm taken aback that the title had exactly the number of characters that were allowed in that text field)

Anyway... so, yeah.  Spend your time adding value to our beloved crypto-currency now rather than trading it.  That is, if you're a small time trader like myself.  You're probably better off doing things like:

-- Offering to build mining rigs for people / engineering new ways to mine
-- Working on the bitcoin client software
-- Buying .bit domains and making websites there
-- Making things (virtual or physical) and selling them for BTC / NMC
    -- Some ideas I had:
-- the quickness of Jimmy John's, in cream pie form rather than sandwiches
-- hemp jewelry and / or chainmail
       -- music
       -- art / games / other media.

Now is the Time.  the Time is Now.
16  Economy / Speculation / Please support NMC exchange on: March 07, 2012, 05:11:21 AM
I'm not sure if this is the proper thread to post this in, but I hang out here mostly so here ya go...

As a miner and wanna-be spendthrift, I've been trying my best to get the most bang for my buck, so of course I've amassed some NMC.  I won't lie, I sure would like to make some money with them.  Well, it looks like there's beginning to be demand forming at Gox for NMC exchange.

17  Economy / Speculation / Don't b scurred on: February 06, 2012, 12:37:03 AM
Please don't sell out of panic.  Take a deep breath or two.  Everything will be fine.

But if you HAVE to sell, well, I know how that is...
18  Economy / Speculation / Bitcoinica Documentation Suggestions on: January 18, 2012, 01:03:06 PM
There is a demand for more thorough documentation at Bitcoinica, and I am working with Zhou to provide this as quickly as possible.  I need general suggestions to get a better idea of:

1) Exactly what areas need most documentation? -- I get PMs asking very basic questions about Bitcoinica.  This would imply a need for some sort of tutorial.  I am contrasting this with the posts that I see on the board, which seem to ask for more details on more technical topics (such as red flag events, the asterisk, reserves, zhoutonging price, etc.)

2)  To what extent these areas need documentation.

Keep in mind:  The preliminary draft will be in the form of a sort of Table of Contents page.

Thank you for participating.
19  Economy / Speculation / "Bitcoinica Code" -- seems new, anyone try this yet? on: January 15, 2012, 08:10:48 PM
I noticed Bitcoinica now provides an option for deposit / withdrawals as "Bitcoinica code" coupon.  This would be handy for people who keep more than one Bitcoinica account (at this point anyway), so I tried to move some funds from one account to another... AND the operation is still in "pending" ...  Angry

Anybody else having issues with this?
20  Economy / Speculation / 7.50 in the next 14 hours? on: January 08, 2012, 09:24:48 AM
Feel free to bet on it; I don't want to though.  :-)
