2  Economy / Gambling discussion / Do not gamble with Loan Money~otherwise you will be in danger like me on: November 28, 2023, 07:02:35 AM

I have always advised people not to take gambling seriously but I myself became heavily addicted to live blackjack from stake.com and kept winning and losing. In this case I will not blame the gambling site because they give live cards. I started the game with just $20 but gradually I got addicted to it and wanted to gamble and win bigger amounts by depositing bigger amounts. I lost $1700 playing this way then I decided to play with a much bigger amount and recover all the losses then quit gambling for this I borrowed 270000 BDT ($2180) from the bank and deposited there. But unfortunately I lost them. Now I am financially so weak that it has become very difficult to meet my family expenses and I owe the bank $2180 which will take me a long time to pay off. Now it will take about 2 years for my financial situation to be normal again. Gambling addiction set back my normal life by 2 years. I am a victim of real experience and I am sharing my real experience with you.  Don't make the same mistake I did.  And never decide to gamble with a loan. If you do, your situation may be similar to mine. so beware of gambling
3  Other / Meta / What Happen with my post? on: September 23, 2023, 06:59:45 AM
I translated one of fillippone posts to my local Bangali language.  Here is the post link https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=631891.msg62888765#msg62888765

But when I went to post the whole post the whole text was not posting together. After I put the complete text in the post box, when I click on the post button, almost half of the part is automatically skipped and posted. I haven't been able to post the entire text together after several attempts. Which is why I have to post this in two parts. why it happen to me?

1.Is there a specific character limit for posting based on profile rank?
2. As there is no local board for Bangladesh. This is just a topic in Other Languages. So is there a specific character limit for replies there?
3. Or can't post more characters on a specific character without being an op of a topic?  But I saw JayJuanGee posting 25k+ characters in some of his single posts.
4. Or is it a bug in the forum?
5. Or it has specific character limitations for writing local language?
4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / How Bitcoin can provide Subscription Auto Renewal solution on: September 21, 2023, 02:12:21 PM
In many cases, we keep the Auto Renewal system on at various places so that when the subscription period of this item expires, the time is instantly renewed.  This is possible because the bank is a centralized platform and has an authority team to manage it.  But if Bitcoin is accepted for payment like Debit/Credit Card everywhere around the world.  In that case how Bitcoin can provide auto renewal system where we use non-custodial wallet to hold Bitcoin.  Which has full access to us, no one can control it if they want. what to you think about it. How Bitcoin can provide Subscription Auto Renewal solution?
5  Economy / Collectibles / My first Collectib :) on: September 03, 2023, 10:52:01 AM

6  Economy / Service Discussion / Are they safe for us? and we should enjoy them? on: August 23, 2023, 08:19:55 AM
Various third party agencies or individuals are constantly offering software, subscriptions, etc. at very low prices like.

- Air Ticket sell with 60-70% discount.Where hacked cards are used
- ChatGPT-4 only for $4 per month (where orginal price is $20/Monthly)
- Netflix subscription only for $1.5/Monthly (where orginal price is $10/Monthly)
- Windows key 7 to 11 only for $1.8 for lifetime
- IDM only for $15/Lifetime (where original price is $25 for Lifetime license 1 Pc)
- Vpn with 50-70% Discount
- Semrush with 50-70% Discount

There are many such things. how reliable are they and is it right to take these services? Because of low rate?

10  Other / Beginners & Help / 2nd page - How to sign a message?! on: June 18, 2023, 03:17:16 AM

Note – i have just correction Broken image .i am not orginal owner of this tutorial. all cradit only for shorena .this guy is inactive for a month thats why i create this topic with fix broken fucking imgur image. and use to host image by talkimg.com. and i have sign a message for my bitcoin address on the first stape and copy all of from shorena
Main topic - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=990345.0

Welcome to the world of bitcoin.

I have still Newbie like you, looking for scrap, asking questions, working faucets. Faucets are a waste of time. Yes, it was a bit easier in the past. I could join a signature campaign with only 39 posts. Spammers have ruined this pretty much for Newbies though and if they continue I am afraid they will ruin it for all of us. This is not the topic though, sorry for the distraction. You dont believe me that I joined a campaign as Newbie? Well I can proof it to you and I can show you how. By signing a message.

The post quoted below was written by shorena. It was not edited and it contains a bitcoin address. If you click on its link you will see that it has no dotted line below the time and date. See here for an edited post. I changed it today. Here is a picture.

Here is mine. Stake My Bitcoin Address
Address
Code:
bc1qnfqesqmph352h29ulys4tzapg6ljv6rhxj77jt

And I can sign a message with this address to prove that I still have access to the private key that belongs to this address.

Code:
-----BEGIN BITCOIN SIGNED MESSAGE-----
This is Z_MBFM from bitcointalk.org and today is 2023.06.18 and i am sign this message
-----BEGIN SIGNATURE-----
bc1qnfqesqmph352h29ulys4tzapg6ljv6rhxj77jt
HwDoLjle3QUR4MEWEWMRtQClDOuEyc7jPLWFVbtp+cIRCIFTDTh0TDYl8VocKeeMzv19oWSVCAKo9SBUvccQV10=
-----END BITCOIN SIGNED MESSAGE-----

You are probably not impressed. So what, a signed message, you might think, but its very important here if you want to trade with someone. There are currently at least 3 accounts in the meta section that are contested. The main problem with all of them is: someone was unable to sign a message, someone did not request a signed message for a trade or someone has no idea how to sign a message. I will try my very best to show you how to sign a message and how to verify a signed message. For this I will use pictures as I know not everyone here speaks english. I will also update this thread over time.

If you want to get your address witnessed somewhere for the future, use this thread by Tomatocage -> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=996318.0
Someone will quote your post there to make sure a hacker that has control over your account can not change it. Make sure you only post addresses you can sign a message with. You can use this thread to test signing message, I will verify them all and Im sure other users will chime in when I am not online as well.

If you want to thank me because this thread has helped you, post a signed message. If you just tell me it helped you, Ill probably think you never even bothered to read this.

Format:

Note: Always include the date and reason when creating a message. If you sign a generic message it could be reused by someone else.

When you sign a message you want to present it to someone else and they want to verify the message. In order to make this extra easy its important to use a certain format. You can modify it as needed, but there are certain things to keep in mind.
Every symbol is important. The symbols > and < in my examples have to be removed. When you sign a message and somewhere have two spaces between two words, both are important for the signature. Thats the whole point of a signature. It detects whether someone changed the message or not. The board here has a "code" environment thats perfect for this. It will make sure no linebreaks are added and the other person can easily copy it. I used the same format above.

If you write a post/PM it should look like on the picture below:

and for everyone else reading, it looks like this:
Code:
-----BEGIN BITCOIN SIGNED MESSAGE-----
<insert message here>
-----BEGIN SIGNATURE-----
<insert address here>
<insert signature here>
-----END BITCOIN SIGNED MESSAGE-----

I added an example how to post the signed message for the blockchain.info part here.

Dos and Don'ts:
return to index

  • DO include the current date. This ensures the signature can not be reused on a different day.
  • DO include the reason and be specific. This ensures the signature can not be resued for a different reason.
  • DO include your nickname and where you use it. This ensures the signature can not be reused, e.g. by Shorena on AcmeCorpTalk.

  • DO NOT use a compromised machine (virus, keylogger, etc.) to create a signature. Signing unlocks your wallets protection the same way spending bitcoin does.
  • DO NOT upload your private key somewhere in order to create a signature.
  • DO NOT give your private key to someone else in order to create a signature for you.

You think something is missing here? Leave a reply below.

Pay to script hash (P2SH) addresses:
return to index

There is no way for pay to script hash addresses without private key (yes, they are possible) to sign a message. For multi-sig-addresses (a subset of P2SH addresses) there are private keys, but there is no consistent definition on how a signature for a message would be verified. Thus, its impossible to sign a message with an address starting with a 3 in a realiable way. With the addition of P2SH-P2WPKH addresses (SegWit, but starting with a 3) this did not change. At least it did not in bitcoin core, other wallets may still allow signing or verification.

Note: Blockchain.info is an online wallet, thus their interface could change. Since there is no version number to indicate a change I added the date. I used the stock Tor browser for this (see the URL), but its identical to the regular version. The black bar masks the wallet identifier. Its a throwaway wallet, but I tend to remove stuff like this.

Update (2017.5.13): According to user apoorvlathey it is now possible to sign messages with the new version as it was in the past. User sHeRiLyN1618 reports that this is only possible for imported addresses, but not addresses generated with the service. For more information read the posts starting from here -> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=990345.msg18991565#msg18991565

Update (2016.5.11): It is now possible to sign messages with imported private keys.
Th0ur007 wrote a step by step here -> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1467458

Note: Blockchain.info's new wallet does not allow you to sign a message, nor does it allow you to easily export the private key in order to sign with a different wallet. There is a crude work around here -> https://docs.google.com/document/d/1-2l6xOqcbjs9QWEqSh72RD1d8EEdvG_hQuEXw_f_o6w/edit

11  Other / Beginners & Help / Keep your wallet Backup safely for Hack/Lost Account manually Recovery on: June 18, 2023, 01:59:53 AM
First of all I want to say that I am having a lot of fun browsing the forums and learning and understanding a lot of interesting information

There is no need to verify email to create an account and is there no 2FA facilities about which I opened a topic about it before. and changing email is also very easy and old email is not required to change email. and I saw the account recovery format where it says to sign a  message. so I think a wallet acts like oxygen to your account. So to keep your account safe, first use or stake a bitcoin wallet in the account and keep the private key / security phrase of that wallet safe and think of it as a backup of your wallet as well as the forum account. then your account will be safe for life and even if hacker hacks 100 times you can manually recover your account very quickly. I understand now that this is a decentralized forum, so there is no security like email verification, number verification, 2FA, KYC etc. So the first crypto wallet used in your account is very important to keep your account safe. Because that wallet will act as the primary wallet for your account. So keep your wallet safe.

12  Other / Meta / Why is this system not set up for the Bitcointalk forum? on: June 10, 2023, 05:27:24 PM
Forum accounts are regularly hacked and there are many stories of forum accounts being bought and sold. And these accounts are mostly sold by hackers. Those who hack accounts and sell them to someone for a low price. It is not possible to build a high ranking account in one night on this forum. So I don't think a person would be interested in selling an account after achieving a high rank. Because the high rank account of this forum has a value that cannot be compared with money. So why is the security of this forum not increased despite developing so much?

- Why is email confirmation not requested during account registration? I have checked that it is possible to open a forum account with an email address that does not exist or has not yet been created.
- Email OTP is not asked during password change. But why the OTP of the current email is not asked even when changing the account email address?
- There is a Secret Question facilities. which is work as a second password.  but anyone can remove it after logging in the account without giving any answer or verifying any OTP.
- Where all platforms have 2FA option for their users, why this forum has not put this option in the user account for security reasons.

I don't understand why this is not in this forum where everyone including the admin knows these things.  And since the forum was created almost 14 years ago, why has this not been done yet?  Is there any secret behind it?
