1  Bitcoin / Mining support / Power Rockminer with ATX PSU on: November 30, 2014, 10:49:25 PM
Okay so i have an ATX PSU that i want to use to power a Rockminer. The only problem i'm having is when i connect my barrel jack to the yellow 12v lead and black ground leads on the molex connection and plug it into the miner my PSU turns off.

I'm using the paperclip mod on the 24 pin connector to turn it on (pretty sure im doing it right). The miner uses a 12v 6a connection.

EDIT: Nevermind i found the solution, i moved my barrel's to the PCI connection instead. It still puts out 12v but i think the amperage is much higher compared to the molex connectors.
2  Bitcoin / Hardware / Can this power supply power the Rockminer? on: July 13, 2014, 12:29:23 AM
Im looking to buy possible 2 Rockminers to mine bitcoins 24/7. The one part that im wondering about is the power supply. It seems that everyone uses a BlackArrow power adapter connected to a PSU then they use the 2.5mm barrel jack to power the device. I don't see the difference between that method and simply using this power cable.

The power supply im looking at http://www.amazon.com/Adapter-Power-Supply-LCD-Monitor/dp/B003TUMDWG/ref=pd_sim_op_4?ie=UTF8&refRID=0JXRQGJFNZZSJ9H35RG9

The Rockminer http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00KLQHSM6/ref=olp_product_details?ie=UTF8&me=

Another quick question if anyone is familiar with these miners, do i still need to find that special driver online (i forgot the name) or will the device install it after i connect the USB cable?

(If for some reason this double posts im sorry, was having some issues).
