This was the main reason many signed up for paypal, to order items online because they either had no credit card or sought an alternative. Is this (legally) possible? If so what is holding them back from implementing such a service? It would wipe out the need for spendbitcoins.com and alike businesses. You could either spend from BTC balance or USD balance. If Mtgox already offers usd vouchers I don't see much difference in a virtual debit card. This would also alleviate some of the demand for BTC -> paypal trades as it leaves fewer reasons to use a paypal account if you've got a gox/th. I recently wanted to make some purchases to show my good faith in bitcoin from the marketplace, or bitcoin retail online stores. However, it has come to my attention that pretty much everyone operating a "bitcoin shopping cart" service is merely offering the same items for sale on newegg or amazon or insert big box retailer here, and are charging 15-20% markup (not even including shipping). This is insulting and I would like to point out to everyone else who are bitcoin enthusiasts that we not support these sites taking advantage of people. I support bitcoin but I will not support ripping people off in its name.
For example just go to www.bitporium.com or any other bitcoin retailer you know of. Look at the prices of items from high end to low end and then compare the prices on google shopping or what have you. As long as "retailers" accepting bitcoin are going to operate in this manner, it isnt going to help bitcoin grow at all, if anything it will shrink the potential user base who'd buy items online. I know everyone has to make their fair share, but current trends are blatantly egregious in my opinion. (buy a computer case on bitporium for $70 + ~20$ shipping that bitporium buys from newegg for 40$ and ships it to your address instead of theirs) If you don't believe me, just go add items to your cart and look at the totals before check out, you will be surprised at what some of these "bitcoin community helpers" are attempting to get away with. |

I just got this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157226 motherboard and i need an ATX case because I've only got a mATX, I'm trying to support bticoin. I'd get one from bitporium but they don't have any in stock! anyways Its okay if the case is a cheaper one or beat up or whatever. Just post what you have (pictures preferred) and what you want in usd equivalent. I'm in the midwest USA for a shipping snapshot. |

whenever a price thats good comes on mtgoxlive, i go to buy or sell and i cant get in b/c its so laggy or bots mass trading. there was a timespan of no greater than 1.00 minutes. yes, one entire minute where te price went from 8.5 to 7.0 and then back to 8.5 again. i logged in to place a buy @ 7.2 order and didnt get logged back in until the price was back at 8.5 PS a usa server would help :/ Me thinks this hurts normal traders more than botting traders and I cant be the only one, it happens every day at least twice. Is mtgox down or not? Get the definite answer. Down or not mtgox is down! How do we know? Check mtgox from 3 random stations in the WatchMouse monitoring network. mybitcoin.com goes down last week... everyones bitcoins go missing next week the market tanks as massive selloff and wall orders make price go from 15 to 11... same thing next weekend it seems so simplistically easy to me... shut down online wallet site after massing bitcoins... shut down transfers and sell all bitcoins high... causing panic selloff to make price dip more... then buy back all the bitcoins you just sold at the new low price like 8 and then he has made potentially millions of dollars and then bought back all the bticoins he originally "stole" from mybitcoin.com users (sell ~40,000 BTC @ between 15 and 11 $ Usd then by back those same 40,000 @ between $6-8 usd... insane no wonder those press releases come right after the huge selloffs and market collapses... could it be any more blatant what went on? unless its a coincidence that a massive ammount of BTC went missing, then the market tanks in a mass selloff with huge walls dissappearing... and then once the market hits a low tom williams suddenly has everyones bitcoins again go from 40k BTC to near 70k.. in a weeks time he probably had much more than 40,000k btc though that way he gets money, and bitcoins, and then all his www.mybitcoin.com users get their bitcoins back after being pissed off for half a month, what does he care if the value went down temporarily, especially if he manipulated it? for the record my "sell at 13 and buy at 8" could be substituted for any range of profitble swing prices, like imagine if he sold at 15 and bought at 6... nearly tripling money |

really annoying, tried to place an order for the past 20 minutes and its just refreshing. then i go and type numbers in the box and it refreshes on its own before i can place it.

nothing good comes from it. please consider making a minimum trade value of 1BTC when placing an order. I'm tired of watching www.mtgoxlive.com and seeing people trading .01 btc , sometimes even .00 shows up . In fact prices would go up if there wasnt this high frequency crap. Move it to dark pools so it doesnt affect the normal market. if the entire point of mtgox or other exchanges is for only botters to make money while tricking other people, i might as well use the real stock market. I've got ~400 in mtgox. At least consider a ceiling value on placing/cancelling orders or possibly increase fee % on traders who place/cancel 100s or 1000s of orders to dissuade them. Anything to make it less blatantly dubious |

abandoned tradehill, not making any public details, and now having problems with dwolla & mtgox.
i just happened to have ~500 in my mtgox and wanted to buy my wife an ipad 2 , planned on sending it to dwolla and then to my bank account... now im scared if i send it to dwolla ill never see my money again.
