Hello, I have a spare and almost free small linux VPS: 1 core, only 512 MB RAM + 512 MB swap (not extendable unfortunately..), 20 GB HDD and only 2-3 ports open. I've been using it as a Horizon [HZ] node https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=551666.0 but now I want to change it. What do you recommend? Is there anyting usefu or profitable what can be done with this kind of VPS? An Ethereum/NXT/NEM node? Or something completely else?

This is an interesting map showing most used fiat currency names around the globe. This should be a base for new "local" or "national" altcoin names Currently we have: DEM - Deutsche eMark PTC - Peseta Coin (origin: peso) KRN - Ekrona Planned: ePLN anything else?

I've been trying to find all altcoin pools working smoothly with Asicminer CUBE miner. So far I tested PPC pool https://ppcoin.d7.lt/ with getwork address (getwork.d7.lt:8080) - it works properly without stratum proxy. Coinotron.com works fine with stratum proxy (mining_proxy.exe) for all coins (PPC, TRC, FRC). Unfortunately I was unable to mine at p2pool.org and coinex.pw with stratum proxy (mining_proxy.exe from http://mining.bitcoin.cz/mining-proxy-howto). The problem is on the proxy side, this software can't work with these pools for unknown reason. Any others?

So I have received my Jalapeno today.
Yay.
Ordered in April.
I don't want to mine BTC because I will never see ROI at current diff. Now the question is: what coin should I mine with it?
PPC, TRC, FRC ?
Which has the biggest potential?

I have created my first version of paper bitcoin wallet this way: 1. zipped wallet.dat file with encryption 2. opened compressed zip file as hex 3. printed hex view of this file, something like this: I got 3 pages of hex, printed it and store in a safe place. What do you think of it? Is is secure? In the worst case I will be able to recreate my zip file by entering manually all hexs (or scan those pages and use OCR). I made this some time ago when there was no brainwallet.org, I didn't want to store just my private key because this address also has some mined coins.

.. but since the last few weeks it's almost impossible to find something really valuable here. I think it's just impossible now to follow all those new "coins". I stopped a two or three days ago at YACoin and ELAcoin and just don't get what happened after them. FC2, GLD, PWC... wait a second, WTF are they? But wait, maybe there is also a WTF coin already...
I think since now we just need to let the market decide which of those altcoins will survive. I hope when I get back to read this subforum frequently in one or two moths there will be clear situation with new (> March 2013) altcoins. Personally I'd like to see YAC and ELA still live, and I have big hopes for CureCoin.

Hello I want to tell you about my dream. I want to travel across the Europe and visit some of the most interesting places. My plan is to drive ca. 300 km daily, then make a stop and find nearest interesting place according to travel guides like "1000 Places to See Before You Die". Here is the map showing main points of my journey: Main places to visit: Berlin (D) * Hamburg (D) * Amsterdam (NL) * Brussels (B) * Paris (F) * Santander (E) * Santiago de Compostela (E) * Lisbon (P) * Gibraltar * Madrid (E) * Benidorm (E) * Barcelona (E) * Avignon (F) * Cannes (F) * Nice (F) * Genoa (I) * Rome (I) * San Marino * Venice (I) * Zurich (CH) * Munich (D)If you want to help me to make it happen I appreciate all tips and donations: BTC: 1Pn6vWTDHN6nW7z7uD8m5HZ7APyCJAbGbA LTC: Li3DYiaNmANUAD5wYT8SmWq3SBnP9FvgKo Thank you all

After this change I have more than 25 connections, before only 7-8. 1. Open your router admin page (for linksys is http://192.168.1.1, for others see guides).
2. Go to Application/Single port forwarding
3. Enable port 7688 for your internal IP address (find it on ipconfig /all).This should look like this: Use this IP address in point 3: - it should be "IPv4 address" after typing ipconfig in a command window. I hope it helps Good luck with YAC Y7tKGp1x5ZDXPWmfKHMpTdnknqvApvfGhp

..and I wonder what should I do with them. I don't want to sell or exchange them but I wonder if all this ripple idea is not too bit complicated for people. And the second thing is that (as I understand it) the ripple idea is based on real trust among people. But the problem is that very often people are not honest, especially when it comes to money-related things.
