I was trying to do a p2p transaction on Bitget this morning, then a warning notice pops up and below is the content of the warning. This is a good news because all these online merchants/vendors been wan frustrate themselves. Imagine sometimes you go click on exchange rate wey dem publish for their Ads, but you go dey see different exchange rate when you wan initiate p2p trade with the person. I don see many complaints of people about how some vendors dey negotiate price outside the one wey dem publish, some even went to the extent of deducting certain amount and say that it is a transaction fee or money for stamp duty. I don see person wey complain say one vendor sef been remove up to 1k from his money dey tell am say na for stamp duty. But I hope that this news now show say the exchange dey see wetin dey happen or probably people don complain well well so if you still see any merchants wey still dey do those things make you report am so that other people go learn because the scam wey dey happen for p2p on these exchanges don dey too much. I say make I share the news for una here too.

This thought have been going through my mind for quite some time now, today i decided to make a post about it. I came across a topic in the Economics board where a staff asked '' Are You Satisfied with Your Government's Stance on Bitcoin? and i saw many Nigerians replying that the government doesn't have a clear stance on cryptocurrencies in the country then i began to wonder if people don't read news anymore to stay updated in recent happenings within the country. Anyways for those of you who may want to read about the government stance on cryptocurrency, here is the link: https://westafricatradehub.com/crypto/is-crypto-legal-in-nigeria/. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has already signed the Investments and Securities Act (ISA) 2025 which gives securities to digital currencies. Cryptocurrency is legal in Nigeria which means you can buy, trade and invest in cryptocurrency so do we still need any more news to know the stance of the government on cryptocurrency? Now, coming to my subject, we know that cryptocurrency is legal in the country but why are we still afraid of coming out boldly to say that we are into cryptocurrency when we are being interrogated by security agencies? As far as a know, there are many Nigerians who are known and identified that they are into cryptocurrency which some of them include; Gaius Chibueze who is the first crypto enthusiast in Nigeria and Africa, we also have Linus Williams Ifejika (B-Lord) and many others. If these people are recognized bitcoin investors then why are we still hiding our identity as bitcoiners from security agencies like the EFCC and the Nigerian Police Force? Is it that we are just avoiding regulatory policies or we just want to keep operating in the digital space without a face. It is obvious that we can't even escape being taxed anymore inasmuch as we convert our bitcoins to the Nigerian currency so why should we be afraid over an investment that we are being taxed of?. SEC already have strict regulatory framework and so also with the CBN. My concern is that there are people who don't have other businesses that they are doing apart from bitcoin and cryptocurrency so if we keep hiding from security agencies, how will such people explain the source of their wealth to the government?

I have been doubting about the privacy of Bitcoin recently after I scanned the wallet address of a reputable member in the forum and saw the huge amount he is holding and I begin to wonder why the block chain explorer have to show so much details about someone's wallet address, can't it just be in a way that you can see the amount that was transacted without knowing the total amount in that wallet. It became a concern to me because despite the anonymous nature of the forum, people can still track how much you are holding especially those who knows you in the forum. Isn't that a security threat?

Bitcoin was created to stand as a decentralized medium of making transactions from one person to another without the involvement of a third party or the government which is a good initiative towards privacy and maintaining anonymity while performing transactions but i have also thought of it in the other way round, don't we think that politicians who loot government funds can use bitcoins to hide huge amount of money such that when the EFCC want to probe them for mismanagement of funds it will be difficult to recover looted funds since they might not be able to trace it due to the fact that they have converted the money to bitcoins. Can decentralization really help us at this time when there are so many cases of financial crimes in the society?

I understand the DT system to work with trust and reputation of a user in the forum that makes other DT members to include them in their trust list and even though some users earn trust due to the assessment of their past behaviors to their present but i think that an inactive DT member should be removed because if a member can stay out of the forum for over 5 years, what will be the probability that they will come back to the forum someday and still maintain same level of reputation that got them trust from some DT members? Perhaps, for those who made it clear they won't return to the forum again, what is the essence of still leaving them in the DT? besides, the positive trust feedback from other DT members should be enough.

A lot of us have been exposed on different ways of securing our crypto assets by keeping the private security information away from a third party and all that but today i want to specify on the use of biometrics like fingerprints or face detection to protect your crypto assets. A lot of the centralized exchanges uses biometrics to log in and also perform transactions such as in withdrawal of funds and also in p2p platforms but it is unwise to use fingerprints to secure your crypto assets because we live in an evil world where nobody can be trusted, even the closest person to you can have evil plans for you because most of the time, the people that plans your downfall are not far away from you especially those who chill out with friends on outings like clubbing, partying or just hanging out for a drink, you can be drugged and since they know that your fingerprints can grant access to your funds, they can take advantage of your unconscious moments to undue you so we really need to be careful. Something happened recently that prompted me to create this topic but am not good at narrating events that happened but however, we should just be very security wise with our log in details. Please do not use fingerprints or biometrics to protect your crypto assets.

Due to the volatility of bitcoin, there are days when the price of bitcoin skyrockets so high within some hours or within 24 and some days the price also falls drastically and tries to cause panic in the market so i was thinking that won't it be advantageous for someone who chooses to DCA everyday such that he can have the opportunity to buy at DIP prices since the market also experiences short time market fluctuations some days, instead of DCAing weekly or monthly which he can miss DIP prices since before the time of their next DCA, the price must have increased and he keeps buying more at high prices.

I have a friend who earns in bitcoin while his other three brothers earn in Fiats from their businesses and professions. His other brothers are progressive and doing better in their businesses but this friend of mine decides to hodl his bitcoin for future growth then he can establish a physical business from the profits he hope to make from bitcoin in the future while he will still hodl some amount in his wallet. Now, his family and his brothers are worried that they are not seeing any physical reflection of someone who is earning in bitcoins as he proclaimed because they were expecting that since he is earning in bitcoins that he will sell it to Fiats and use the money to establish a business or a project that will be visible to them that he is progressing as well. His family have now called a meeting to question him about what he does with the money he earns in bitcoins since they haven't seen any physical impact from him. He told them he is hodling the bitcoins till he must have acquired a sizable amount in his portfolio and make huge profits from it before he can think of selling and use the money for physical businesses and projects but his family didn't believe him and they ask him to declare his asset in bitcoins before they can be convinced about what he is saying. He then refused to declare his asset in bitcoin because he has already hodl a large amount and since the meeting comprised some of his extended family members, he was not comfortable declaring his crypto asset due to some personal and security reasons.
If you were in his shoes, can you declare your crypto asset to your family? Or do you think he should have declared it to them after the extended family members must have left and even if he did, the information can still leak to the extended family and from there it can escalate to other people. What opinion do you have to give in this situation?

It is no news that Donald Trump has been faced with numerous cases and charges ever since his re-election ambition in 2020, ranging from charges of sexual assaults to felony charges but yet he remained focused and undistracted till now that he has achieved his re-election ambition which renders all charges against him pending and postponed till after his reign as the US president for the second time. With the resilience of Donald Trump's pursuit for a re-election despite being in the middle of those numerous charges leveled against him shows bravery and a country like America really deserves people who are dogged in the face of adversity and i'm of the view that he is most likely to make America great again just as he preached during his election campaigns. What are your opinion towards Trump's enthusiastic behaviors regardless of so many challenges he is faced with?

I came across some threads and information i gathered from Google that the bitcointalk forum was originated by Satoshi Nakamoto in 2009 and according to what i read from Theymos (current forum administrator) that Sirius took over the head administrative position from Satoshi Nakamoto in 2011 till 2012 when he (Theymos) took over from Sirius in 2012 until present. It is understandable that Satoshi Nakamoto left the forum at freewill but the head administrator of the forum, is it by the person with most activity, by election or by appointment? and how is the position moderated? since the forum has no owner after the disappearance of Satoshi Nakamoto. My reasons for asking these questions is because i am amazed at how well organized and unique the forum is, even though it doesn't have an owner again (after Satoshi Nakamoto left) since Theymos stated and i quote that the forum is now owned and dedicated to the bitcointalk community in general. Just asking out of curiosity even though it may not be relevant questions. It's surprising how well-documented history can become totally forgotten... Satoshi created the forum on Nov 22, 2009, and was head administrator until almost 2011. Then Sirius was head administrator until 2012, which is when I took over.
Cobra also owns the bitcointalk.org domain name. I consider the forum to be basically owned by or at least dedicated to the Bitcoin community, though; I don't call anyone an owner of the forum.

As we all know, whales are the bigger investors in the crypto market and their activities in the market affects the fluctuations of prices because when they sell some of their assets, it causes pandemonium such that it's effect can widely be noticed and when they also buys back it also helps the price to skyrocket because these are investors that their investments in cryptocurrency are worth billions of dollars. My question is this, what will happen to the crypto industry if the whales decides to sell off their assets and never buys back again? how will the Market survive since it will be Left with only lower investors?

Actually I know that anyone who is new to any platform for the first time is considered as a novice or newbie but it is expected that anyone who is using a platform should be able to read/write and understand but it should be noted that every platforms have either their terms of service otherwise terms and conditions or rules and regulations that guides the activities of that platform and in the forum here we have the forum rules and the forum comprises of individuals with great intellectual capacities but it's still very odd to me how some people while making posts they will be using this statement "I don't know if anyone have talked about this or have created this topic before" like it is so annoying more especially when I see some higher rank members doing this also because as someone who have been in the forum for a long time, it is expected that you are familiar with the activities of the forum and should know that before you create a topic in the forum, you are supposed to use the "search box" to check if such topics have been created, existed and discussed before and i believe that was the reason why the "search area" is there so that we don't do things out of ignorance.

You all can agree with me that the rate of scamming now is really alarming and scammers are using various means and mediums to defraud people from their funds and just within this periods I noticed that the scam is mostly done on CEX platforms, from p2p manipulations to other deceitful ways they are sending mails to people and if you are not smart and careful enough that's how you will fall a prey to them so I just come up with the idea of using Anti phishing codes attached to your email address.
Anti phishing codes can be used to differentiate between messages or mail sent to you by the original apps or sites you are using and the ones sent to you by someone who is trying to defraud you. The phishing codes can be a set of characters put together by you to be able to identify information that are sent to you by genuine apps and sites that you are you are making use of their platforms for transactions.
There is need to consider using Anti phishing codes attached to your email address since it is majorly used to get information from most of the platforms we use online and newbies are always the targets of scammers and they are mostly the victims to scams so if they can employ this idea of using anti phishing codes it will enable them to know when a message is fake/original/real.
Now that a lot of people are playing crypto games on telegram to earn coins and some Airdrops is the time where most people get scammed since most of the crypto games requires connecting your exchange wallet address to claim the Airdrops so for anyone connecting their wallets to claim Airdrops, they should be security conscious of their assets and if possible should use an exchange address that you have no asset in it and using this anti phishing codes can also help in a case of any fraudulent activities in your account you can be able to identify them immediately.

There are some investors that waits for a dip price to buy and when the dip comes and they buy but they begin to experience that the price is even dipping further, so is there a need to panic or continue buying at every dip price if you still have some reserved funds with you because even though many wish for a dip to happen in order for them to buy Bitcoin but there are investors that expects the price to skyrocket after buying so if the price continues to dip further, is it not going to make those investors to lose confidence that the price may later not increase again?

The introduction of digital assets and currency has aided in solving humans financial problems and I must say that we all are glad of these developments because I wonder how our monetary system would have been if digital currency was not there because it has helped in the following ways:
1: contactless transactions: The introduction of digital assets like cryptocurrency helped during situations like the pandemic when everyone was on lockdown and didn't get access to physical notes because the virus can even be transferred to the currency notes since they are airborne but with the of digital currency it has helped because people were performing monetary transactions right from their respective homes and it also helped the virus not to spread further.
2: Remote Payments: digital assets also helped in this aspect because instead of going to the bank or using the ATM it was better to make payments remotely especially when restrictions where placed on movement of people due to a pandemic or during social crisis when people are advised to stay at home or government imposed curfews in a particular region or area.
3: Global Transactions: with digital assets, transactions are being made internationally from one country to another and at ease instead of trying to exchange a currency to that particular country's currency as in the case of Fiat but with digital currency the transactions are direct, easy and less time consuming.
4: Transparency: digital currency provides a transparent system through the introduction of the Blockchain Technology such that every transaction can be traced, tracked and cannot be manipulated because everything is visible in the Blockchain. This area is very important because during social crisis a lot of individuals that donations are given to disburse to victims and they tend to manipulate and maneuver the funds but with this system it is impossible for any fraudulent activity.
5: Financial Inclusion: it should be noted that there are individuals more especially in rural areas that can't get access to the Banks and other physical financial medium of transactions so digital currency have aided in providing help to these set of people and again during crisis when banks are shutdown, digital currency also played important roles within those periods.
In conclusion, digital currency has played important and notable roles in providing a secured, accessible and efficient financial environment for people more especially during natural disasters.
You can give your humble opinion on introduction of digital assets/currency.

For so many years now, a lot of football players more especially the dark skinned ones have been racially abused both in their domestic leagues and other international competitions and I now begin to wonder that is it bad for everyone irrespective of their race, language and country to do things together with one another without condemning each other?
It has been on record in football that players (especially Africans) face racism while playing for some European countries. I was thinking that the hate was only on Africans but with the development I have witnessed in the case of Vinicius Jnr even though he is a Brazilian have made me to understand that it is just a total hate on the black people.
In the past we have also recorded some racial abuse on some African players like Samuel Eto'o, Thomas Nkono (Cameronians), Iñaki Williams (Ghanian), others Africans who also suffered racism includes Nico Williams, Mouctar Diakhaby, Frédéric Kanouté, Yaya Touré and so many others.
But the black people don't condemn the appearances of the whites so why the so much hate? It is that we all can't live together happily and proffer solutions to world problems without facing racial criticism? I want to know the reason why the Blacks are mostly the victims of racial abuse.

Some may refer this thread to be a Merit phishing thread but sometimes we should look beyond the rank of a poster and deliberate things in a more real and clear situation. You all can agree with me that since December 2023, the activity/activeness of forum members here have been declining due to one of these factors; ⏺️lack of quality threads more especially those relating to Bitcoin discussions. ⏺️Lack of Reliable and Reputable signature campaigns ⏺️The ban that was placed on some signature campaign companies in the forum and some others. Now, what has been keeping the forum moving is the activeness of some merit sources that have been distributing merits to quality posts in recent times, so I want to commend the top 9 Most generous merit senders, all time of: LoyceV, El duderino_, fillippone, ABCbits, suchmoon, JayJuanGee, hugeblack, DdmrDdmr, Symmetrick, vapourminer. These high profile users have been keeping the forum active in merit circulation and I commend them for their generosity more especially the 7 Most generous recent merit senders of: hugeblack, El duderino_, ABCbits, LoyceV, klarki, fillippone, JayJuanGee. Note: The reason for creating the merit system was to stand as a prerequisite that will affirm a quality post therefore, if we are seeing more merit circulation in the forum it means that quality posts are being made gradually so it is a commendable development and it will also quicken and motivate users to be engaged in more quality and productive posts. However, the application of more merit sources have been coming in recent times so if more merit sources becomes active in merit distribution, it will help cover the lapses and inactivity of other merit sources.

It is believed that Bitcoin halving is an event that happens every four years in the crypto industry where the block rewards that miners benefits from mining Bitcoin are cut half and Bitcoin eventually becomes scarce with the demand increasing and inflation is being addressed because it's part of the concept of the halving event. Since Miners rewards is being cut half during the halving, do they still continue in the number they were before the halving?
Edit: Does all miners receive equal rewards? or the reward differs base on who solves the algorithms first and a transaction is confirmed.

I downloaded Telegram App and installed it in my Android phone so after registration I clicked on the options that are available in the platform and I was surprised to see wallet so when I opened it I discovered it can be used to open a crypto wallet to store coins. So it is really safe to use wallets from social platforms? If it is safe, what is the guarantee that assets stored on this social wallets will not be compromised by either the app or other users of the app.
